This place is definitely worth trying to go to! Yes, it's a but painful to make a reservation but it's in the middle of a high end area so what would you expect? Don't try to eat at a popular restaurant if you don't want to wait. Period. This is not Olive Garden. Now, that being said, we loved our entire experience. It was a bit on the pricey side, which was expected, but definitely worth it. We sat outside and were allowed to take our time and enjoy a bottle of wine while we waited and had time to finish it after our meal. The staff was friendly but not overly attentive, which I like. They weren't constantly intruding and making us feel rushed. We can't say enough about this place! We actually debated on eating here a couple times after our first visit, which is a no no for us while we travel. Give it a shot, book early, and enjoy yourself. read more

So I came here looking for very good food at a good price. It is such a great place. The atmosphere is really quite posh, but we were dressed in shorts and tank tops and still felt very comfortable. The service was excellent. We were attended too very quickly and our food came out pretty quickly too. We ordered the smoke salmon and Sea Bass with Black truffle appetizers along with bread to start with. They also gave a complimentary bread with sun dried cherry tomatoes and some very soft, delicate Mozzarella cheese. The smoke salmon was top quality. So very tender and bursting with flavor. The Sea Bass with truffles were even better I think. You must have every bite with a little truffle in it. That is what makes it delicious. The Sea Bass is very fresh and mild in flavor and the truffle then creates the delicious flavor in this Dish. For the main dish, order anything with truffle. I ordered the linguine with truffles, my daughter ordered the ravioli with truffle, my wife ordered the Sea Bass pasta, my other daughter ordered the Salmon with soysauce dressing and my son ordered the lasagna. So I tasted everything and the worst was the Salmon, only because everything was so delicious it eclipsed the Salmon. We are from Seattle, so we know great Salmon and this was very good, but it seemed like a poor choice when in Italy. It would have been a great choice anywhere in the US. The best was the Lasagna, which was a surprise because I thought the truffle dishes would win out, but the Lasagna was so good, I had to give it top honors. The Ravioli was decadent and delicious and my Linguine was awesome too. The Sea Bass was very good, but it was a red sauce and I wasn't in the mood for the red sauce that day. Truly everything was delicious and our ratings were only in comparison to our tastes. At the end of the meal we were stuffed, but the waiter showed us the menu and there was a custard dish with strawberries and crispy waffer we just couldn't resist. It was fantastic. we walked around looking for a place to eat, but every place looked super touristy. we came upon life, which looked nice and modern. we looked at the menu outside and chose this place, b/c there were a bunch of veggie contorni on the menu. i felt like i hadn't eaten any green veggies in a while. we shared the life salad, which had some mango, papaya, and avocado on greens. then i got the fettuccine w/ porcini mushrooms and truffle, and my husband got the cacio e pepe. we then shared sides of grilled asparagus and sauteed broccoli w chili and garlic. everything was delicious...even the bread! portions were just right and not too huge. this is a good find if you're near the spanish steps. read more

We came here upon the recommendation of our hotel. Its quite close to our hotel in Piazza Barberrini (250 m) so it was great to go to after a long day of touring around Rome. We didn't have a reservation but we were promptly seated inside. They have inside and outside heating so I don't think reservations are needed unless its a weekend. The menu is quite large with several selections under pasta, antipasta, 1st/2nd course so there's a ton to choose from. I ordered the ravioli with black truffle and burrata. It was amazing with the perfect level of al dente and a silky filling. The truffles were so fresh that they were not dried but actually soft. For the entree, I had the roasted leg of lamb with mashed potatoes. The meat on the leg was actually cut off of the bone. I was expecting a full leg but it was nice that it was off of the bone. The meat was tender and peppery and paired well with the mashed potatoes. It was paired well with a nice glass of Barolo. We were unfortunately too stuffed to try the desserts although they had a very nice selection. All in all, a really great meal. However, I would reco folks who are hungry to go for the tasting menu as they have 2-3 different types for 50-60 Euro, which would basically be the cost of a salad, pasta and entree. But in the tasting menu, you get 1-2 more plates and a dessert so quite a deal. read more

Place is great. Get the 6 course option for sure. I did the lobster which was good but my husband did the truffle and that was out of this world. So do truffle over the lobster. The one thing I will say is your first three courses come out together so just be aware that it's really like a 4 course meal. The wine with it was all great as well. If you're looking to have a nicer meal that's in a newer and contemporary setting them go here. We wanted one night to go to something other than all the little Italian restaurants on every corner. Although we found many that were amazing, we wanted to be a bit fancy one night and feel like we were at home in LA. This place is perfect for that. They also bring you out complimentary limoncello after dessert! Still trying to figure out the celeb pictures tho and why they all have their hands up. Maybe it's a big F you to the paparazzi? So, I really like this place. The servers are very nice and the food is delicious. Far beyond the basic food at other places in Rome. I would have given them 5 stars instead of 4, BUT they gave me bottled water (which I paid for) that wasn't a new bottle of water (it was tap water). I know this because they gave me the water in a bottle that the label said was sparkling water (with gas) and I wanted natural water (no gas). I called them out on it and the waiter admitted what they did, but tried to spin it that they refilled the bottle with filtered water from the spout. If I'm paying several dollars for a bottle of water, I want it fresh from the bottle. I imagine many restaurants in Europe do this to make extra money. read more
