The food was delicious. This was another place recommended by our concierge at Hotel Morgana. We were seated quickly-even for a party of 6. The servers were very knowledgeable and gave amazing recommendations. Our food came out quickly. We ate outside but didn't feel too much wind chill thanks to the covers and the many heat lamps. Would recommend to anyone else passing through the Roma Termini area.

WOW! What a great evening of good food and wine ! Our hotel concierge suggested this place and it did not disappoint! We absolutely love the mineral water served here in Rome and our waitress made a good recommendation of a house Cabernet! They serve a variety of breads with some of the best EVOO and aged balsamic vinegar I've had! We started with an eggplant appetizer and man was it good! The tomato sauce was soooo fresh and eggplant was tender and well seasoned! We shared Carbonara and the lamb chops in a delectable cherry glaze with simple potatoes dusted with smoked paprika! We opted out of dessert since we had spotted a gelato place near our hotel! They gave us complimentary Limoncello after dinner too! It's the epitome of an Italian dinner experience! The interior seemed small but they actually have a lower level with lots more seating besides their patio equipped with heaters in case it gets chilly!

Rubi was a fantastic server, he came with great recommendations! We both had a pistachio pasta for appetizer and they split the bowl of pasta for us so we had a nice small portion each. Then I proceeded to order the lamb, my husband got the chicken. Both dishes were delicious! Just so people are aware, the wine reduction on the lamb was very sweet, it worked perfectly with the Lam! But you have to understand that this is going to be a sweet meat just so you are mentally ready for it. I was thinking I wanted something savory, but this was just fine! For dessert, my husband ordered the cheesecake and he said it was delicious . The Bible was very peaceful and romantic, we sat inside since it was so hot outside.

Wow! After being pasta's out in Italy we decided to try some fish and steak. What a disappointment. The Sea Bass was dry, The steak was chewy and tough, and absolutely no flavor. The ambience was really nice and service great, but the food was a failure. I would not recommend.

A great restaurant if you're floating around the train station in Rome. This was our final stop for dinner before ending our 10 day vacation in Italy. I can say without a doubt that this restaurant has the BEST bread that we had during our entire trip. The foccacia was amazing and their 7 grain focaccia was phenomenal! I'm a VERY experienced home cook and make homemade breads offer. This compliment isn't given lightly. The next best bread was at Michelin star restaurant in Venice! The waiter Rubi was extremely friendly and attentive. Our carbonara and fried Artichoke was just delicious. And our salted caramel panda cottage was just perfect! Overall, a great ending to our trip.

Everything was delicious! Highly recommended. Traditional Roman dishes, I encourage everyone to try the fried Artichoke!

Great reception at check in even though I did not reserve, and there was a line, reception gave us the best seat on corner looking over the glass window and could see outside diners. We opted for indoor because it was pretty hot still over 80 degrees at 730p. Ambiénce was great witj white table cloth linen and uniformed wait staff in white shirt and black tie show professional yet friendly vibe as the manager spoke with us briefly! We started off with special Amadeo red fruits spritz was yummy and refreshing as well as my hubby's long island iced tea! Shared an octopus appetizer which had very light fresh flavor presented almost like a dessert! Ordered the lamb chops my hubby gave 5 stars. I had Cacio di Pepe homemade pasta with Pecorino cheese prepared Roman style and this was superb I ate every bit of it! We also ordered a red Cab Sav for hubby's lamb chop and I had Panna to help quenched my thirst from earlier Vatican, Basilica, St Peter's & Sistine Chapel museum tour! All in all was an excellent experience, deserving of 5 stars! Manager was super nice and attentive to us so sure 5!

Tonnarello fresco con pesto di pistacchio e basilico, tonno e stracciatella

We had a wonderful evening at Amedeo Ristorante. From start to finish, everything was impeccable. I began with the Tortino di pecorino con cialda di riso venere soffiato e riduzione di aceto balsamico di Modena--a beautifully plated and perfectly balanced appetizer. The Tonnarello fresco con pesto di pistacchio e basilico, tonno e stracciatella was equally impressive--fresh pasta and flavors that were truly pleasing. The Stinco di agnello brasato al vino rosso was the highlight of the meal: tender, richly flavored, and enhanced by a glass of Brunello di Montalcino. Service was outstanding--our server, Rubi, was warm, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend Amedeo Ristorante for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine, fine wines, and gracious hospitality in a refined setting.

This is a hidden Gem. Service was impeccable. The food may have been the best I have had over seas. And the indoor ambiance was beautiful and air-conditioned. Must go to this restaurant when in Rome.

Nice Italian restaurant located right in the heart of Rome. This place gets busyyyyyy, so make sure to plan ahead. It's reasonably priced, makes great food and the service is prompt. Overall, not too bad of a stop in the land of food.

    Lamb chops with potatoes

Hands down this was my favorite place I ate in Rome, and we went to a Michelin star place and ate at an Anthony Bourdain recommendation. It was the only place my wife ate at more than once while in the city, because we wanted something we knew we were going to love as our last meal in Rome. The first meal there, I had the octopus special which was incredible - one of the best-prepared octopus dishes I've ever eaten. My second time there I ordered off the regular menu, and got the lamb chops. The lamb was really delicious and the cook on the potatoes was perfect. My wife had their lasagna the first time and she said it was the best lasagna she's ever eaten, but she found their carbonara to be a little rich. In addition to loving the dishes, Amedeo had the best pre-meal bread service of any place we ate at in Italy - lots of variety and everything was really good. Service here was pretty good and the food wasn't super expensive compared to a lot of places in Rome - 2 entrees averaged just a shade over €30.

Very Disappointing Experience - Osteria da Fortunata, Pantheon Location…read more We have visited Rome several times and have eaten at Osteria da Fortunata della Cancelleria on Via della Cancelleria. During our previous visits, we had excellent experiences with both the food and the customer service, which is why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and spaghetti, and unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked, very chewy, and cold. It was not at all the quality we had experienced during our previous visits. When we asked the waiter to take the carbonara back because it was not edible, his attitude was extremely disappointing. Rather than offering to replace the dish or addressing our concern professionally, he told us that the manager had approved it and that we could simply take the food home. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant felt more like a factory than an authentic Italian dining experience. We noticed the staff using walkie-talkies to communicate with the host, and as soon as customers left their tables, the waiter would communicate with the host to immediately send new customers in to fill the space. It gave us the impression that the priority was turning tables over as quickly as possible rather than providing guests with a pleasant dining experience. The constant rush was noticeable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal in Rome. It is very unfortunate because we have visited Osteria da Fortunata several times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. Tonight, however, the cold and poorly cooked pasta, the attitude of the waiter, and the rushed, factory-like atmosphere made this a very disappointing experience.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
