Great meal even though some said it could be touristy. They were very accommodating to our children and the food was superb especially the sea bream and the ravioli with burrata and truffles. The only complaint I have is the pink shrimp carpaccio was somewhat tasteless. The desserts were also fantastic as was the Sauvignon. read more

I had high hopes based on other reviews but wasn't overly impressed. The waiter was friendly and efficient which was nice. It was definitely the case that tourists were tucked away inside at the back of the restaurant but the locals were outside. Not a deal breaker but just be prepared. Having said that it was a little odd for a touristy area. Spaghetti carbonara was passable. It was the only spaghetti on the menu that didn't say homemade and it certainly tasted not home made. The lasagne was excellent. For mains the slow cooked lamb wasn't as expected. It was a casserole rather than a roasted version, though the gravy was tasty. The chicken was dry, but tasty. It would have been lifted but a gravy or jus. Perhaps if have been better served by trying items from the degustation menu.... Who knows? HOLY DELICIOUS!! We started with the Caprese appetizer, which was really great (especially with their house olive oil, provided on the table). Then, my husband and I had the linguine with mushrooms and truffle and the lobster spaghetti. Life changing, seriously the best!! The pasta is perfect to the taste, not too rich, but just perfect and their focaccia just goes perfectly with it for dipping in the leftover sauces. Staff here are RUDE. Didn't greet us and acted like they didn't want to give us a table when there was only one table with people! Mediocre food and bad service. Ordered a steak medium rare that came out medium well. Two staff kept arguing with us that it was rare when none of the pieces were pink! They pre-cut it for you so you can clearly see the center of all the pieces. When one staff took our plate back another one came out to tell us the same thing. They remade it and the steak was actually the only decent thing we ate here but they were very unprofessional about it. Raw shrimp tasted extremely fishy, we had to was it down with wine. Chicken Cesar salad was mayo dressing on salad. Their famous lobster pasta was bland and not worth trying. read more

Fancy little restaurant with an automatic door for the bathroom! It scared me at first because I didn't see anyone behind the door but then I realized it was automatic. Small pasta dishes but very delicious. This restaurant would be nice for a date night and the waitresses speak English which helps a ton in this country. read more

They certainly got the name right because this restaurant gave me my entire LIFE! This was by far the absolute best meal that we had in Italy. The restaurant is cute. It has a punchy vibe.. I was kind of worried when we walked in and saw all of the pics of American actors.. I thought it wasnt going to be authentic Italian.. boy was I wrong. My bf got the Truffle tasting menu. Each course was paired with a specific wine. Our server was AWESOME! Dang it. I can't remember his name but he is one course from being a sommelier.. he likes basketball.. anyway he was AMAZING. I wasnt sure what I wanted and he recommended my entire meal. They have this prima (appetizer) that is burrata baked in phyllo with asparagus..I could have eaten two. The restaurant offers two kinds of menu: (1) Tasting menu ~ 65EUR/person, 4 kinds (2) Regular menu ~ 8-20EUR/dish After we ordered, we were brought their house bread, which was the flat crispy kind. Most of the pasta were around the 10EUR mark, which was very appealing. Hubby ordered their basic carbonara with extra black truffles (optional), and I ordered Spaghetti Mancini with clams. Sadly, our waitress forgot to add in the black truffles to the carbonara, so we had the black truffle separately as a side. However, this ended up being better than having them added in, because the black truffle was brought raw- hubby really loved tasting the raw truffle, and always comments on how it is quite different from those that are cooked! I believe my spaghetti sauce was made from white wine. The pasta was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that, it was very good. Plenty of clams, probably just as much as my pasta, for 12EUR, I was very satisfied. I was happy to have eaten more seafood than spaghetti. This restaurant offers a full patio outside along with their 3 gorgeous indoor rooms. They also offer a separate room reservable for private lunch or dinner. read more

This would be a 4.5 star for me but it was so good. I rounded up! My boyfriend and I sat outside on a warm night in Rome and it was perfect. Beautiful, clean and appropriately lit outdoor set up. Should have ordered 3 of them. SERIOUSLY. If this is the only thing you get, you will be a happy person. Patanegra, was good. Noci (blue cheese and honey, walnuts) a little underwhelming. Porcini e patate was the least good of them all, still darn good though. Pastas ordered were the Tagliolini con astice (lobster) - lip smacking delicious, Ravioli ripieni di burrata, really good but shy of the lobster. Mains seabass - standard salt crusted style. Sfoglia croccante (pastry tart for with Chantilly cream) was poor. Desserts are not really their speciality; the waitress recommended this one. You should go out of your way to get here. Especially if you're a tourist. No offence to Americans, don't just be a sight-seer and eat sandwiches and boxed lunches all the time and fail to appreciate the delicious cuisine this country has to offer. read more

The Sea bass carpaccio with black truffle and extra virgin olive oil was delicious. Homemade ravioli filled with burrata cheese, parmesan cream and black truffle was very good. Homemade tagliolini pasta with Lobster and cherry tomatoes was a bit salty. The dish was very popular on the menu, but it was a little too much salt on my taste buds. The burrata baked in filo dough is an absolute must-have for an appetizer as well as the plate of assorted prosciutto, cheeses and jams. For our main dishes, the lobster pasta was cooked to perfection and the black truffle ravioli with ricotta was so creamy it still makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The chocolate panna cotta and tiramisu are absolutely to die and are the perfect way to end an indulgent meal. Bread: At the establishments I dined at, none of the bread was worth consuming the extra carbs. However, the bread at Life though was delicious. It's not comparable to the freshly baked loaves of SF sourdough, but it was good enough that I reached for a second piece even when I wasn't hungry. Steamed broccoli: It wasn't over cooked; I had the unfortunate experience of eating overcooked asparagus the night before at another restaurant, so the fact that the steamed broccoli came out perfect made me jump for joy. Roasted wild mushrooms: I loved loved loved this dish. I made note of the ingredients so that I could make this at home. If you're a mushroom lover, I highly suggest this flavorful dish. A citrus salad with avocado: light and refreshing. Taglioni with fresh lobster: This was my second most memorable/favorite pasta dish in Roma! The tomato sauce wasn't overpowering and was so delicious I ate and extra piece of bread just to soak up the sauce on the plate. This dish was incredibly inexpensive considering the portion size and lobster. Panna cotta with berries: MMMMM! I'll have another please. Service: Quick. Food wasn't bad but service was poor. This would be a restaurant wanting to get in upscale but service was a lot closer to McDonald's level or worst. First, when we went in, we were told to wait for 2 minutes, someone will be with us shortly, so we stepped asides and starting to go through the menu, 5 minutes later someone walked up to us informed us saying he wasn't sure if we have been told but only 4 options of tasting menu are available and only outdoor seats. Which we were fine with but then sat there for about 15 minutes with no one so much of walk up to us, until I decided to walk up and ask if we could be seated, he replies he thought we were still deciding as if we needed 15 minutes to go through 4 options or 15 minutes to wait for completely empty area of outdoor seating. So as soon as we sat down we let the waitress know we were ready to order and then placed thr order with her, just to have another guy walked up to us 5 minutes later asking us to place an order..........????? First dish came and we finished, empty plates sitting there for a good while and guess what, same guy who wanted to place my orders the second time standing behind my table playing with his phone for another 10 minutes. As I said before 4 options of tasting menus, 4 courses each, after we finished the second dish and his play time on his phone, came any lay down you desert spoons, completely skipped the 3rd dish we both thought we heard wrong until we actually saw him placing our desert, so we corrected him saying we should be on our 3rd. He took the desert away then after a while came back with the 3rd course and guess what, he then bring out and left the desert on the table next to us. After we finished 3rd we were actually wondering if we are going to have to go over and grab the desert ourselves instead of letting it melt right on our next table while this guy AGAIN having fun with his phone. When the waiter can't even remember how many courses on a night that they only have 4 options on, I can hardly agree they worth the price, and just FYI the 1 star I am giving was from the quality of food, nothing else. read more

Alas, it was full and we were to be seated inside. The next impressions are of the beautiful modern interior and the well dressed staff. We sat down, they immediately took our drink order, they served us bread, and we ordered our food. After that, our dinner wasn't as great as it had started. The app we ordered was beautifully presented, but lacked a lot of flavor. My hubby had ordered a artichoke heart side salad and it didn't arrive before or with our entrees. The entrees weren't terrible, but not what I would expect from a place this nice (the fish in my pasta tasted quite fishy).
