Talk about decadent! Damn! These cookies are no joke and don't expect to finish it one or even two sittings. It's borderline a scone it's so thick, but so tasty. I love that my cookie was loaded with chocolate chips and walnuts, but didn't load up on sugar. The sweetness level was on point, any sweeter and it wouldn't be edible. Ugh... I like levain for there cookies and breads . I went in yesterday and decided to try something new..... big mistake. I had the brioche with chocolate chips . The quality of these cookies are beyond 10/10. The staff is friendly although we ordered two cookies, but realized we only received one. Cookies were very good especially with a glass of milk. They were sweet and dense; similar like a brownie in texture. My favorite was the chocolate walnut. Would say based on the one cookie it was in the 3.5 star range, I wasn't amazed or overwhelmed magically. I don't know how they manage to cook such thick cookies without overcooking they outside, but they've perfected the recipe My favorite is the dark chocolate chip peanut butter. Cookies that are dense and heavy - yes, please. We were in Brooklyn and found the bakery not far from where we were visiting. Walked away with a box of ten cookies - two of each of the following: chocolate chip walnut, dark chocolate chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and dark chocolate peanut butter chip. The cookies weighed a ton as we made our way back to Queens on the subway. My son was the designated mule to carry it on the subway all the way back. Each of the cookies can be shared and the calories from each, well, let's say I am back at the gym now to work it all off. One of their new spots opening up around the city, with not much of a line on a Saturday evening. Straightforward setup inside with all the options behind the glass for easy choosing. Decided on both the Chocolate Walnut ($4ish) and Oatmeal Raisin ($4ish). They have many other pastries as well, but honestly why bother? Found a place outside as you can't eat indoors due to COVID restrictions. Chocolate Walnut is as fantastic as always - gooey inside and not overly sweet. Oatmeal Raisin tries to come through with the same characteristics, but doesn't work as well. Still easy to eat, but needed that extra crunch a walnut provides. Quick and efficient as usual. I'm super please that this company opened a Brooklyn location , i would drive all the way to midtown for 2 cookies they also offer a variety of milk to choose from i purchased the oat milk . The staff are so sweet and warm the place is super clean .. they are doing online ordering and practicing social distancing , and covid 19 protocol .. like any where In Williamsburg parking is terrible more so with outdoor dining . I'm so glad that Levain Bakery opened more locations. Their cookies are the best. I love that they keep the same flavors and really perfected it too. I love all their cookies, especially since they now have the two chip chocolate chip (since I'm not a big fan of walnuts). Their cookies are stuffed with whatever fillings it says whether it's the chocolate chips, raisins, or peanut butter chips. They are also big, chunky cookies so it's nice and crispy on the outside while gooey and soft in the middle. The chocolate chip cookies are a classic. The dark chocolate cookies are rich in flavor and have almost a brownie-like texture. Their chocolate chip cookies are intricately crafted but it would taste a lot better if they warmed it up, it tastes better when you warm it up at home. You can't eat too much though, it's one of those things that after a few bites you get nauseous.Their oatmeal cookie is good too but I prefer soft and chewy oatmeal cookies. I came just to try the Fall Chocolate Chunk cookie and all I can say is it was like eating a gingerbread cookie with amazing chocolate. I microwaved it for about 50 seconds to get chocolate to melt just right and it didn't disappoint. I've been a huge fan of Levain Bakery since I was a student and one of the best things about living and going to school on the Upper West Side was that there were two Levains - one on the UWS and one in Harlem. Since then several locations have opened up across Manhattan and they finally opened up a location in Brooklyn last week. Since we happened to be there we checked out the new location and we were pleasantly surprised to see that there was no line because there is usually a long line at all of the locations in Manhattan. Levain has several types of cookies, but their chocolate chip walnut cookies have been my favorite in the city since I first tried them over ten years ago. Recently, however, a couple of people told me I had to try the award-winning chocolate chip cookie from Culture Espresso and compare that with Levain's new "Two Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie" that doesn't have the walnuts because it wouldn't be fair to compare the Culture Espresso chocolate chip cookies to Levain's chocolate chip walnut cookies. I tried the "Two Chip" and while both cookies are really good I think it all comes down to how much chocolate you want in your cookie. The chocolate chip cookie from Culture Espresso (third pic) has a perfect chocolate to cookie ratio of 50:50 whereas Levain's "Two Chip" (second pic) is heavier on the chocolate. That said, Levain's chocolate chip walnut cookie is still my favorite! read more

The hype is pretty big for this place so I had a pretty high expectation coming into this. We tried the regular chocolate chip cookie and double chocolate. Both cookies were super warm and very generous with the chocolate. The outside was crunchy and as soon as you bite in you taste an explosion of warm, gooey cookie dough and chocolate chips. A little too sweet for me personally, but I'd definitely come here again if I was craving something super sweet. This location is doing a great job in terms of Covid safety, people must be in line 6 ft apart and cookies are all to-go.
