I would like to shine the light on Sofia & Grace Cookie Company especially during Women's History Month 2025. Continuing in the tradition of baking as an ode to her grandmother, Shalonda Vasquez found an awesome cookie company as a means to connect with her twins, the real Sofia and Grace. I was introduced to Shalonda's marvelous creations at an event last month and knew that I needed more soon. I was warmly greeted by Shalonda herself upon entrance and the cashier. There were so many good options to choose from. Everything looked tasty but I let my inner child decide and she went with: -Lemon Oreo: It was love at first bite with palatable amounts of lemon zest and white chocolate chips -Green Velvet: Why have red velvet when you can have green velvet? -Pretty Pink: I love the name, color and the fact that it has a marshmallow filling. I'm getting 2 next time. An honorable mention goes out to the cheeseburger empanada with homemade chipotle mayo which was pleasantly delicious and made me feel better about eating my cookies so quickly. I highly recommend stopping by whenever in the Stuy for some delicious cookies with are not overly sweet but full of flavor. Grab an empanada and something to drink from the café as well. read more

I still love how this place is run by a mother and daughter living their dream, and their focus is on supplying children with sweet treats. This place is near schools, a church, and a project building. Since COVID, a lot of smoke and liquor shops have popped up, making this place like a flower in concrete. Their cookies are innovative, soft in the middle with a crispy edge. They are simple in taste and creation, much like Crumbl cookies, especially with cereal and candy pieces. A sweet little discovery. I'm new to the neighborhood for work and spend my lunch breaks casually strolling and happened upon this little gem. Tiny in size but it packs quite a punch in flavor, in its bright pink quaint location. Owned by the lovely Shalonda this little cookie shop has some of your classic flavors: sugar, chocolate chip and red velvet but then they add their unique spin on things with flavors like the Cobbler, pineapple upside down, bday, lemon Oreo. I had the red velvet, coconut caramel drizzle on my first visit and most recently, the strawberry milk and smores...to die for! So good! Just go! You'll meet your cookie identity at a great price and with excellent customer service. P.S. each cookie is on average about $3 and they've recently added banana pudding and cornbread. This is a lovely neighborhood bakery. All the employees are so warm and friendly, including the owner. They have a great selection of regular and vegan cookies to choose from. The cookies are thin and soft baked. A few are stuffed. I particularly enjoyed the dulce de leche and the chocolate chip. They also have deliciously moist cupcakes. In addition to sweets, they have a savory menu, which includes paninis and empanadas. My partner recently tried the cheeseburger empanada and said it was tasty and similar to a Jamaican beef patty. Came here about 3 months ago in August 2023 These cookies are so worth the trip to BK! I am a TRUE connoisseur so I try ALOT off the menu, Just to see if it's worth my time to come back ! These cookies didn't disappoint! This is a grab and go shop, there is a nice bench outside in case you wanna enjoy your cookies right then and there, no indoor seating. Shop is clean and I like that you can see production in the back. Shop owner greeted me kindly and was very helpful with my order. I tried one of each flavor they had to offer and I must say that the Vegan cookies were fabulously delicious! You could not tell they were vegan, fully flavored! We got here just a few minutes before it closed on a Saturday just after a meal we ate at a restaurant not too far here. But we definitely wanted to patronize this store for dessert. Number one because it's black owned and number two it was featured on social media. I can tell, and I said this to her, Miss Shalonda works hard. However, her demeanor and graceful attitude didn't say that when we walked in. She says she LOVES this place. Despite having two masters degrees in early childhood education, she said she took the money her grandmother left her to open this place. She said she was on the brink of closing before the tik tok video premiered. Miss Shalonda said it was a quick turnaround. And we are glad she didn't close. Besides making awesome baked goods ( my cookies melted in my mouth and I could taste every ingredient) a grant given to her by the district helps her give away children's books and hold computer classes. ALL this makes Miss Shalonda's cookie company a distinct asset to the BEDSTUY neighborhood. As I write this, the three cookies I bought are waiting for me in the kitchen. The cookies here are dangerous in the best way possible lol. I always say I'm going to just get 2 and walkaway with at least 3 (ok, maybe 4 or 5) each visit. The staff is always so friendly and inviting. And they have all sorts of classic and unique flavors (I had some short of banana pudding or banana nut cookie during my last visit that I inhaled so fast I can barely tell you what was in it--it was that good). My only complaint is that they sell out fast (as they should), so you should try to go early in the day if you have your mind/mouth set on a certain flavor. read more

Right away I noticed the service here is extremely friendly and joyful - you can just tell both the staff members there were happy to be there and put you in a good mood along with them. The menu is diverse, with cookies being their main offering, but also having paninis and empanadas, including vegetarian options which is great. As far as the cookies, they're even more diverse - ranging from strawberry, KitKat, snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, blue velvet, coquito - truly impressive the variety here! As far as the cookies, I think they are good, but not outstanding. They were a little dry compared to some other cookie places, but good in flavor and again I love the variety. The flavors really came through for the cookies, which had me really surprised. I LOVED THE BERRY CHEESECAKE ONE. I was in shock in how flavorful it was. Usually cheesecake flavored things are just meh. Might as well have a real cheesecake. The blue velvet one. which the nice af cashier gave me a sample of, was awesome.
