My sister occasionally brings them from New York to Maryland and they are perfectly fresh! Some of my favorites include their Valentine's Day heart that's filled with strawberry cream, or the occasional mint ones they have around the springtime. I also love their peanut butter jelly donut, and their aromatic ones like the rosehip pistachio. Honestly even any plain donuts they have are better than most other places. The young man in my pics helped me, and he was a sweetheart. He was very patient as I figured out what I wanted to purchase. Based on the great reviews, I was confident that whatever I chose would be good, and it was. They have a variety of donuts, teas, and cofees, just to name a few. I glanced at some of the donuts that weren't available and asked if they had any more in the back, and they didn't. I'll have to return to try those popular ones that run out quickly. Sadly, they closed that spot, which can't seem to hold a tenant for too long. They're the best doughnuts around, so on this cold day I took the L train out to the 'Schwick to get a few. They're vegan, with flavors like triple chocolate and PB&J, and in the winter you need comfort food. Brooklyn Roasting coffee is the perfect match--heaven is only a few subway stops away. The donuts are alright. They are leaps ahead in quality, when compared to Dunkin Donuts. When it comes to variety, it's usually a hit or miss. I would recommend their jelly donuts. On occasion, I do see a Boston Crème, which I don't recommend; after all it's weirdly vegan. I only come here in the morning, so the donuts are fresh. There were so many different types of vegan donuts to choose from. The raspberry jelly one which we wanted to try was sold out. We tried 2 donuts: 1) pistachio and 2) strawberry caramel cardamom one. Pistachio donut - The donut was very soft and cakey texture, but had a weird artificial almond extract aftertaste. All the selection is vegan. The donuts are great, and unless someone told you they were vegan, one would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Such a cute donut store in the neighborhood! Dunwell is known for their vegan sweets- always having such eclectic and fun flavors. While being vegan, they're also very careful with the nut products which I appreciate (because I'm allergic!) apparently they focus on a soy base- according to one of the employees. My favorite flavor so far is probably the rose thyme or pumpkin spice. It seems they rotate flavors so it's always great to check out the new inventory. I came here recently on a Sunday afternoon. There was no line, which was great, and there's a few outdoor tables to sit at, but not too much seating. I got the lavender earl grey donut. The donut itself was quite good. Nice and airy, very fresh, and the dough wasn't too sweet itself. The icing was a bit disappointing though. I really didn't taste any lavender or earl grey; it almost just tasted like a standard glazed donut.
