I don't get it.. but I heard about this spot from social media. My friend and I decided to stop by to check it out while in the area. These donuts are vegan and their menu changes weekly, so it can be a treat. The employee recommended the Cinnamon Roll ($10), so we got that. Then also added a Mini Donut ($5) in Berry Mint Mojito flavor. Since it was towards the end of the day, she also tossed in a complimentary Lemon Blueberry Poundcake Donut, which was nice. We took our donuts over to the Brooklyn Bridge Pier to enjoy since there's no seating here. The cinnamon roll was quite tiny and a bit too hard and doughy. While the regular donuts were pretty, none of it really stood out to me in terms of flavor and texture. To be honest, I don't get why the cinnamon roll made this spot popular. Also, I felt a bit deceived about the cinnamon rolls being made with sweet potato, but it's moreso in the filling than the dough. Even then, still didn't really taste it. We were walking down the block and spotted a sign for Cloudy Donut and figured we'd give a shot. I was pleased to see that others on Yelp also liked this place. We ordered the blackberry mojito and crème brûlée donuts and both were really top notch. I was impressed with how the blackberry mojito donut glaze really emulated the beverage's nonalcoholic components. You could really taste the blackberry and the mint. These donuts are natural and delicious. Innovative vegan donut spot in Brooklyn. The flavors are constantly changing and evolving! Upon walking in, I was greeted by a warm staff member who really took his time in explaining the available flavors; even suggested the flavors we should try. The storefront is very simplistic; lots of open space and the decor is meant to draw your eyes to the donuts. There isn't any seating except outside when the weather allows for it. We tried the blackberry mint mojito... fire. Raspberry rosé... peculiar... and brown butter pecan... classic. The donuts are tiny compared to other donut spots which might not appeal to everyone. They truly are bite sized looking. If you look at my pictures, they fit in my tiny hand. Lol. But again, flavors are so outstanding that if you don't care for a large donut, this spot is your jam. That day they were also serving a lemon pistachio cinnamon roll... amazing and I hope they add that on their menu again when the weather warms up. I did have their coffee which wasn't my favorite. However, my husband and I were underwhelmed by the two we ordered--the guava lime and pina colada. The guava lime came with a thin slice of lime on top of the donut, but otherwise I didn't detect any lime flavor in the frosting itself. The pina colada was better, in part because it was enhanced by the coconut flakes and even sour pineapple on top. But both weren't worth the price. I can't say the yeasted donut parts were anything much better than a yeasted Dunkin Donut. Perhaps we should have ordered a sweet potato cinnamon bun instead. read more

You'll feel ripped off every time you step out the house. $8 per pastry is par for the course these days. I was drawn to this place after seeing photos online and the fact that they are all vegan. I made the trek to Brooklyn to check out the original location. A small place meant for takeout only as there is no seating inside. No restrooms. The inside is bright and fits the cloudy theme. I found out there is no menu listing of prices. This makes it really hard to decide what/how much to buy without awkwardly asking in the middle of a busy line. The donuts are mini in size and the cinnamon squares are average size. Apparently they have drip coffee too? Again, not listed anywhere on a menu but saw someone get a cup and found out they sell basic drip coffee from a steel canister. Who knows how much it costs? The mini donuts are $4.50 and the cinnamon square is a jaw dropping $10! I was surprised at checkout that I paid just over $15 for a mini donut and cinnamon square. As for the quality... the balsamic fig donut tasted sugary sweet but didn't catch any fig flavor. The cinnamon square tasted very doughy with a very light hint of cinnamon vs a fluffy soft consistency. Disappointing. Overall, while they look pretty they were not the best vegan donuts I've had. For how expensive they are and lacking in flavor, I don't think they are worth the trip. There are way better tasting larger vegan donuts at a better price point in NYC. Stopped by chance with my son. He got a chocolate-topped donut. He said it tasted weird, so I tried a bite and the chocolate tasted like somebody mixed Mrs Meyers dish soap in. Nothing "floral" mentioned in the description, just plain chocolate. So bad. Today I took a long trip along with my best friend to wonderful black owned vegan shop in Brooklyn. It was an amazing experience! We had the sweet potato cinnamon bun, which was like nothing I've ever tasted. The pistachio donut was top-tier, maple pecan was so savory with a hint of salt, these flavors were so robust. I tried the orange raspberry which was perfect together, the pineapple upside down cake and a blueberry black raspberry as well. Love that they are black-owned and all donuts are vegan. I didn't love the price nor the flavor. Didn't add up to me. I ordered a mini donut (sugarberry) and a single donut in the flavor of blackberry mint mojito for a total of $11! HOW?! and why lol. My immediate thoughts. $4.50 for a mini donut and $6 for a single is a but much. As far as a size reference for the single donut, its similar to the size of a Dough donut. Very cute store, we popped in on a Saturday morning to try some of the donuts. Their flavors all looked really interesting. We got lemon vanilla bean, berry olive oil, and creme brulee. Our fave was the creme brulee, had a caramelized sugar top and cream on the inside. The other 2 tasted the same besides the decoration on top. They were good, fluffy donuts but we did not taste any flavoring in the donut/glaze besides the berry and lemon that were placed on top. The donuts are pretty pricy at almost $15 for 3 mini donuts. So many interesting choices coming out of their oven, I already know I have to go back and try more. Congratulations on being the First Black Owned business in Brooklyn Heights! I've been twice now and can say that the donuts are fresh, look beautiful and are made with love. The staff is also super friendly and are passionate about what they do. The shop is very clean and the donut display is beautiful. An added bonus that they're vegan! I only gave 4 stars for the flavors. The basic flavors like powdered and cinnamon sugar have been my favorites. They're definitely a major upgrade from Dunkin and other local shops. I was underwhelmed by my speciality flavors. The maple pecan glaze was just okay and the pistachio lacked pistachio flavor. I would be open to exploring other flavors but their location is out the way for me and they have limited hours. If you're in the area I'd stop by and give them a try. I've been looking forward to the opening of this black-owned, vegan donut shop for months, and the donuts and other sweet treats surpassed all my expectations. The lines have been down the block, and they sell out quickly, but they are absolutely worth the wait. We were only able to try one donut and two cookies on grand opening weekend since we showed up an hour after opening and that was all they had left, so we made sure to come earlier this weekend to make sure we could try more. After two weekends, we've tried six different donuts, two types of cookies, and their cinnamon roll.
