The creme brulee filling was a delicious creme and the too has the nice crunch, the mint chip donut is really soft and yummy enjoyed the mint icing and chips. Can't wait to try some of the other flavors like orange and cream.

Wait why are the ratings so low!? These 100% vegan donuts have literally converted me into a donut person. Fluffy, light, and not too sweet (asian tastebuds approved), with real fruit flavors that actually shine through. I usually find donuts overly sweet and artificial, but Cloudy Donuts completely changed my mind. These were not only pretty but with just the right amount of light frosting. To make them vegan, they use applesauce instead of eggs, coconut milk in place of dairy, and vegetable shortening instead of butter. My bf is severely lactose intolerant, but also has a sweet tooth. I was so glad to see him enjoying these without worrying about the aftermath. *Lemon Pistachio Cinnamon Roll Fluffy and bright, with a pop of lemon and a nutty pistachio crunch. *Orange Vanilla Bean Donut Like a creamsicle in donut form -- citrusy, sweet, and super airy, garnished with candied orange. *Raspberry Rosé Donut A little tart from the raspberry. My bf devoured it in one bite lol it was a 10000/10 from him. *Balsamic Fig Donut Juicy, jammy, and surprisingly perfect with that tangy balsamic kick. *Lemon Blueberry Poundcake How is it this moist and light and VEGAN?! I even found lemon peel bits on the crust.

Vegan! It taste indulgent without being too heavy. The texture inside is fluffy. I had a mini powdered sugar and a brown sugar chocolate chip. For $6.00, it's a bit steep when it's a slightly above average doughnut.

Fantastic donuts. Can't wait to go back next month when we visit.

Great donuts. Literally clouds. We loved them so much we are planning to go back when we visit next month!

what a sweet surprise - this is a black owned vegan donut shop. my friend and i stumbled on this spot and we tried the brown butter pecan mini donut, berry olive oil mini donut and the lemon blueberry pancake pound cake. everything was a 10/10. Felt very light and perfectly doughy and nice touch of sweetness. the flavors are a clear and a balanced presence in each bite. John helped us out and he was so kind in offering a taste before purchasing. the vibe in the store is bright, simple and welcoming amidst busy soho streets. My favorite was the pound cake but highly recommend for a sweet vegan treat!

This spot is special. The ambiance, the creativity, the flavors, easily a 10 across the board. I grabbed the strawberry donuts and they were unreal! Soft, flavorful, and 100% vegan. Major respect to the owners for opening NYC's first Black-owned vegan donut shop in Nolita. This is what excellence and inspiration look like. ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE IS REAL WHERE DREAMS CRUMB TRUE.

one thing i constantly crave is a good doughnut which is hard to find as a vegan. whenever i visit a big city my goal is to find a vegan doughnut. i was super excited to try cloudy donuts after a quick google search and some tik tok recon. unfortunately they just didn't taste that good. i loved the mini size and plethora of flavors offered. we got one of each flavor which came out to 7 doughnuts and as we were deciding they were super kind and gave us one to try. i think the problem is with the doughnut itself. the dough was just bland and left a weird after taste. the frosting was sweet but they were really lacking flavor.

Was definitely drawn in by the aesthetics of the shop. Very cute yet simple, offering what seems like vegan donuts and also pound cakes. We were told the lemon blueberry pound cake was one of their popular ones, so naturally we had to try it. It certainly did not disappoint - it was so so moist and just perfect. Wonderful balance of zesty lemon with the tart blueberries and every bite was delightful. We also tried the chai sugar donut which was very light and fluffy and thought this one was solid. However, the lemon blueberry pound cake was a clear winner and I would definitely recommend it!

With a 3.8 star rating on Google & 3 stars on Yelp, I still wanted to try Cloudy donuts. Once I did, I totally get why their rating is low. Most basic donuts for $6 each - there are too many better dessert options in the city; save your money for those (Dough, Dominique Ansel, Supermoon bake house..list goes on)

I was walking around the town and spotted this shop and I am a donut lover and excited to try a new one, but I am totally disappointed the presentation is very nice but when I eat it very disappointing the donuts texture is dry lacking of moisture and texture the flavor taste is bland too, thankful I just bought 2 pieces I eat only the chocolate and the one with strawberry slice on top goes directly to the trash can. ( by the way the store is clean but so quiet no body is inside except one staff whose busy texting when i come in)

Bottom raspberry lemonade was my favorite!
    S H.

Super cute artisanal donut shop in the heart of NoLiTa. The owner is super friendly and the donuts are super delicious and fluffy and flavorful without being overpowering and too sweet. My favorite flavors were raspberry lemonade (the hints of lemon were PERFECTION) and the blueberry! Would absolutely recommend and would get again. Esp for special occasions like birthdays!

How I was treated here would not fly or last One minute in North Shore Nassau -.But here in Brooklyn this is a bustling coffee & donut shop with all seats taken and a line for take out. Donuts & coffee both good - Good. Experience a no go. They were pre- occupied with added fees. it's all they mentioned with each donut picked. It went like this - "A dozen doughnuts please" and I began pointing at quite regular looking donuts (all in the same rows) or so I thought. " thats a dollar extra" ( boston creme) hm ok " thats a dollar extra" ( coconut creme) hm ok " thats a dollar extra" ( boston creme stick) hm ok " thats a dollar extra" ( french cruller white icing hm ok " thats a dollar extra" (french cruller chocolate icing) hm ok " Two small coffees also please " HM are those the small?? I kid you not they were TINY kid sized The cup size I have never seen before. They must special order them for samples or something. Ok so "They are wayyy too tiny so - medium please" Out came the typical small sized cup - Hmm so ok. Let's ring and go I'm thinking. Next the woman is struggling with a paper by the register trying to figure out the coat of this dozen donuts (plus five with her added $1's) - then more struggle and I said " it's a dozen plus $5" thats $29.50". "Oh no you don't have a dozen". Apparently the extra $5 disqualified my "dozen". I know what you're thinking but No- no special donuts from some other case - no coffee rolls etc - i'm a NY'er and know a donut from a special roll etc. You need to buy five more for a dozen. "Oh? No, I have a dozen and am paying you five up charges as you stated." Next thing she is ringing the donuts individually Plus the extra $5 Which makes NO sense. But gets her another added $5 or so. Why would they keep quoting me add ons to my dozen if no dozen existed once you added a Boston creme etc. She raced to the manager. The Brooklynites thought ne a mean old lady for saying you're overcharging me'. The manager flew over - a young man huffy and emphatic that the five very ordinary donuts that were $5 more converted my dozen to a different price per donut. Then they said something funny to me - "would you like me to take those out and give you regular donuts?". No. (See update for more) " No those are the ones I want " but you just over charged me - I'll take them. But you are overcharging me. Thank you. Holy mackerel - just glad to be on the way out WITH the donuts of course- I was not furious or anything- and the donuts were never at risk- I'd not walk out on the donuts - My advice is to be more transparent in pricing and not deem very basic donuts special donuts - making your customers feel ripped off.- Better just to charge more for the dozen. And.. like other shops put any supposed special donuts in a special donut area - like coffee rolls, big fritters etc. That's how it's Typically done. This is New York! You can't pull that here. This is a place where people pay $6 for a good cookie. They are not cheap. Don't be weird at the register. And those cups Come on - are you KIDding me - pun intended. I left holding on to my wallet a lot tighter. And that is not NYstyle. I felt like some war was on and was ready to start stacking change. I'm also half Italian! So for me - This was one weird cheapskate experience. So that's my review. --------------------Update - Follow up to reply ------------------------------- Hi Demetrios, Thank you for replying. I generally stay positive on reviews. Like I said it was the aggressive way I was treated that was the no go for me. What I left out of the review was worse! For instance - your counter person began reaching to open the box saying she was taking out donuts to replace them with others. She grabbed the box and actually began getting ready to fling donuts around. It was totally weird. Had she actually not stopped trying to untie when asked I would have not taken them. It weirded me out. You say you keep the business the same since 1993? Well where is the Jelly Stick? A New Yok classic. So much for keeping it the same. Its on the sign over the counter and you don't make them any more .. so It is Not the same as it once was. Got ya! jk. And no.. no no.. I am Never mean or rude... just willing to say something. Ok so the coffee.. if its really $1 I get it.. its a nice gesture to your customers... they had something like that in Montauk.. a tiny beer for $1 at a place called Liar's Saloon. So ok.... right on you. Update /3

Filled donuts are bursting at the seams with custard that tastes like egg yolks, cream, sugar, vanilla and little else. The orange cream cheese donut is generously frosted with, I'd guess, a mixture of cream cheese, marmalade, powdered sugar, and cream. Based on what we've tried, the donuts at Caroline's are old fashioned, unadulterated and excellent. I recently picked up four donuts for the fambly: the aforementioned orange cream cheese, creme brulee, Boston cream, and raspberry glaze donuts. This was in the afternoon around 4 p.m. and all of them were perfectly, wondrously fresh. The person at the counter (the male proprietor, I think) assured me in his charming French accent that they freshly fry donuts several times a day. Creme brulee was the fan favorite with the hard, crisp, sugar shell on top cracking delicately under a knife to reveal a loose, rich, custardy filling. But across the board, donuts were beautifully made (both aesthetic and delicious!), and well frosted / glazed / filled. The raspberry glaze by itself was a touch too sweet for our tastes, but applied with restraint so the overall effect was balanced. We are not in the donut market very often, but have had this place bookmarked ever since my esteemed Yelp colleague, Alan S., reviewed it last year. Now that we've tried these beauties, I think we're going to find many excuses to be back (e.g. for Hannukah sufganiyot, anything round for Lunar New Year, anything fried for Diwali, anything that can support a candle for birthdays, etc...).We really like this place and we suspect you will, too.

The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet. The dough is light and fluffy and generously coated with granulated sugar. What a treat!
