I love this place. A friend of mine went to college in the West Village/Chelsea area, which is within a reasonable walking distance to the office I work at. In fact, I work so close and the donuts are so good that I have now become a regular at The Donut Pub. I normally get two donuts, and have been exploring the types of donuts. So far I've had the chocolate dipper, double chocolate dipper, Brooklyn creme, vanilla creme, strawberry creme and Boston creme. They never disappoint. All of the staff members are efficient and sweet, even when the shop is busy. Even if there's a line or they are making a bunch of orders, their service is consistently extremely fast without sacrificing quality. Their matcha latte and regular coffee latte are also pretty good. The cups are adorable. The interior is the old diner from back in the 90s style, and surprisingly they have a decent amount of seating considering how small the establishment is. Run, don't walk! TBH their donuts are good but I wouldn't go out of my way for them. $5-6 each so keep that in mind! read more

What a great doughnut shop in NYC! We stopped here while visit NYC and were not disappointed. The place really was not packed either which is a rarity for NYC shops. We walked in and were able to sit right at the bar to order and eat our doughnuts. These are not mass produced doughnuts. These are tasty little treats! I have such a vivid memory of leaving a review for The Donut Pub and yet clearly I didn't. Did I leave it on Google? Weird. (I looked, I did not.) Went there late one night. Donuts were great. See? I remember writing this. Because the guy at the counter made a joke about having a donut that was like a cruller had sex with a glazed? or something. And that's a funny image. I think a churro could probably also have sex with a donut. Also, a large pretzel stick. But I digress. Lots of options. So many options. Open really late. Possibly always open? Not sure, don't work there. Go and get a yummy donut. Oh, they have Brooklyn Creme, I think it's called. Which is not a Boston Creme, which is filled with vanilla pudding, but I always think it tastes like pus. (I did NOT get a Boston Creme at this establishment. This is a general statement. Boy, I hope no one googles that phrase. Brooklyn Creme is filled with yummy vanilla creme. Funny story, my friend Dawn used to work at Dunkin Donuts when I lived in Boston. My girlfriend and I came here the other night. We ordered one of the chocolate donuts, a chocolate, graham cracker, doughnut, and a French crawler. We were disappointed in all of them! The crawler was terrible. It was kind of wet and was not sweet at all. My girlfriend said the chocolate with the graham cracker was OK but nothing spectacular. The original location on 14th street off 7th ave. Zack and the staff here are amazingly friendly, courteous, and welcoming. The cronuts( which i come here for) is a large variety of flavors and always fresh. The coffee is always fresh and warming. The kind of coffee you can drink black. The staff took the time to check in and chat during our visit. I had a stores croutons which was fresh and spot on stores and the coffee with milk was made just the way I like it. Good place for breakfast or anytime. It has lots of flavors. The Donut Pub is one of my favorite morning places at this Chelsea location. A lot to choose from in here. They have some vegan flavors too. Best to get there early. It's possible they run out of the desired flavor. They make a lot though. Another benefit of going early is they taste better fresh. It has so many flavors it's crazy to see all these. A few are made with no eggs. They have vegan chocolate ones. It's $3 for a big one or several holes. These taste like regular donuts so no one would know if you slipped them these in place of a regular one, plus these don't have the cholesterol of eggs so they're a healthier option. It's more expensive than fast food of course. Obviously these are made with better ingredients. The benefit is these taste much better than any donut chain you can go to, and are healthier, with a few of these okay for vegans. read more

This is a tiny spot that has a variety of donuts available. I got the chocolate dipper which is an old-fashioned donut dipped in chocolate. I didn't feel like it tasted like an old-fashioned donut though, it just seemed like a normal donut dipped in chocolate. It tasted alright though. It was over $3 which definitely felt a bit overpriced. I think this place is known for their cronuts though so if I come again I would try those. My friends and I were looking for some dessert after dinner and saw this nearby. We walked into this fun donut shop that has the interior look of a diner with bar stools around the counters. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry croissant donut. There were two guys at the front who were friendly, but it took them 5 minutes of having a conversation between each other for them to finally give us our donut... kind of odd. As for the donut, my review from my very brief tasting is... it was alright. I felt $5 was pretty steep for the donut. There are layers that are similar to a croissant that's where the similarities end. I'm confused what was strawberry about it - there was some strawberry frosting on the top but it was super sugary and tasted like artificial strawberry flavoring. There were some fruity pebbles sprinkled on the top of the donut too. It didn't taste that fresh, but I don't know for sure when they were made. We tried an assortment of donuts here and they were generally dry with a blander dough. With so many donuts places around, I wouldn't recommend this place (Peter Pan reigns supreme in my opinion now that the Doughnut Project maple crueller is no longer available - RIP).
