I've seen quite a few dough locations over the years but never made it in. After being on my feet for quite a few hours and walking by, it seemed like the perfect afternoon pick me up! Happened to be a Sunday around maybe 3 and there were still a good amount of options for donut flavors. I'm not big on specialty so split a plain glazed with one other person. These donuts are very big! They were a tad more expensive than I expected but still within the normal range for the city. It was soft and pretty dense despite it looking airy. It gave more bread energy than dessert but a solid donut in a pinch. read more

This was the perfect first stop after my friend ran a marathon nearby at Prospect Park. The donuts are fresh and delicious and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. The server was very friendly and offered a lot of suggestions. we shared the original glazed, Boston cream, Dubai chocolate, strawberry, Nutella, and Dulce de Leche. Though all of them were delicious, the Nutella was our favorite- it was the perfect serving of Nutella and we all enjoyed the sprinkle of powdered sugar on top. There are only like two tables to sit inside, so I recommend grabbing it and finding a nice spot outside. The donuts are huge and my group of four couldn't finish the six we ordered so we had leftovers for breakfast the following day. Highly recommend Dough and will be back when I'm in town again. read more

Overall: 3.5/5 I love donuts! And Chocolate Chip Cookies but this isn't the time... I visited because one of my friends recommended it. The donuts are DOUGH nuts. They didn't lie! It's a big, fluffy, bread-like pastry. I got 2 glazed and GF got dulce de leche. We also ordered two iced Oatmilk lattes. I enjoyed my donut (definitely over a few days eating), however, I didn't love my donut. The glaze wasn't too sweet which I liked. I think it was just too big and doughy for me. The lattes were fine. It was just an okay visit for me. My GF took a few bites and said she liked it but didn't love it. I wouldn't return because it's not " my type" of donut. However, I would tell others to try it. Very pleased with my Vegan donuts that I grabbed from here. I love that they even have Vegan options. The only options that they have so far are plain glaze and cinnamon sugar. But I'm hopeful that there will be more vegan flavors in the near future. **crosses fingers** You can't really tell that there were alternative ingredients used in both of the donuts. I got a hint of something citrusy or sour-like every now and then but I feel like if you're used to having vegan sweet treats then you know it's whatever they used as their egg alternative. It wasn't off putting at all! I really did enjoy both donuts. Something that was a plus for me is that both weren't overly sweet. It was the perfection level of sweetness... one that you don't have to be guilty about. I wanted to try the other donuts but I was past my dairy intake levels already. Whenever I don't have too much dairy in my week, I'll definitely be back to try out the other flavors. I should add that I'm not vegan but I enjoy vegan desserts and pastries because I do have a dairy intolerance. More of an acne issue rather than a stomach issue. It's so unfortunate but I love finding places like Dough that have vegan options. I went on a Thursday afternoon during one of my work breaks. I arrived to an empty store (which I very much prefer lol). So service was super quick for me!! However, I have heard of this place being really busy. Especially during morning rush and the weekends. The space is pretty awesome. I love that it is parent-kid friendly; they have seating for kids and some items for them to play with. Best doughnuts ever. Have been going to the fort Greene location and missed it dearly when it closed few years ago so I am glad to know they opened a new Brooklyn location. My favorites are the Boston cream pie and both the dulce de leche/café au laite. I really wanted the hibiscus donut but it always gets sold out so hopefully next time I make it in time. read more

We rolled by to window shop. I didn't want to have a doughnut--self-denial. When I went in, we encountered just about the loveliest person behind the counter (Thursday 10/2). He was friendly and generous with his time. He asked if we wanted to know the bestseller or his favorite. We asked for his favorite, which is the blueberry lemon doughnut. Wow! It's a cute place.. idk y I didn't read yelp 1st.. I was slippin ..please remember the name "DOUGH"because that is what you'll be eating a piece of thick dough. had a 5 mile walk so we thought we deserved a doughnut and opted for this place. They had a lot of variety one strawberry shortcake glaze and dulce . All the donuts taste like a thick cake that needed butter, I like an airy light donut. I wouldn't come back here. I don't like cake for a doughnut. And all the donuts are $5.65 basically because you're getting like a mini piece of cake no thanks read more

Very quick and friendly service! The shop smells of warm coffee beans and sugar. I ordered two donuts a chocolate covered with chocolate flakes. And a dulce de leche. Both were super dense in texture and had a light crust on the outside. I love each flavor equally! read more

Doughnuts were not great, tasted like bread, and were also overpriced. Inside, it's a bit run down with a weird lack of seating for the space. They also overcharged us for drinks because the menu prices had "not been updated" and added a puzzling 3% service fee. read more

My first time visiting this location and it won't be my last! We got the cocoa nibs and the dulce de leche donuts. Both were very tasty! The donuts were more cake-y and yeasty so they were more on the heavy side. The interior had a cute seating area, which wasn't crowded. Overall, a great place to come to share a couple of donuts. read more

Nothing much to say about Dough: now a Brooklyn institution, they recently opened a new store on Vanderbilt Ave. in Prospect Heights. Their menu feature their all year-round flavors such as plain glazed, hibiscus, dulce de leche, mocha-almond crunch, nutella, etc... plus seasonal flavors and also vegan options. When I visited the seasonal flavor was the Brooklyn chocolate blackout, which is not currently available on their on-line menu. Unfortunately at 11am it was already sold out. We had the hibiscus, mocha-almond crunch, and the red velvet cheesecake. I'm not a huge fan of doughnuts in general, as the inside is a bit dry for me, the outside often greasy, and the glaze overpowering. These doughnuts, though, were very balanced: the glaze was very rich without being overpowering, and the inside was fluffy[1]. Perhaps the mocha-almond crunch was the one I liked the best, as I could taste the coffee flavor but also everything else. Do you like doughnuts? WELCOME BACK TO BROOKLYN!!! However, I don't appreciate that this spot is two blocks away from my house. When it was on Lafayette & Franklin I would go every other month or two...but now that I'll be passing it almost everyday, my waistline is in serious trouble! The good thing is it takes me a few days to eat one soooo I guess I got lucky there. I've missed the Nutella and Cafe Au Lait donuts!! Yes, I know you can get it at retailers, but there's nothing like a fresh one from the actual spot. The spot is definitely bigger than the previous locale. Its weird that its no longer Joyce ( previous yummy spot), but I digress. I'm hoping when covid decides it's done that we'll be able to lounge there with a coffee and donut. Despite stopping by during evening hours, doughnut seemed fresh and soft. Tried the toasted coconut, no filling or cream as I'd expected but still good. Love it! Still trying to understand the reason I have never visited this bakery pastry coffee shop in the past. I am truly mad at myself. Great customer service and wonderful creative doughnut assortments. I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. Yes it was hot and delicious. I wanted to try the Vegan doughnut options so I went for the Vegan Hibiscus donut. It was an internal battle with choosing between the hibiscus or macha cheesecake. When I say delicious and mouth watering I ate it so slow. I wanted to truly savor the moment. There were options to sit inside but I opted for outdoor seating. This allowed me to truly soak in the sun and simply be a true New Yorker. How else can one, people watch and dog watch. It was really Courteous for store manager to put a little bowl of water for puppy friends. Great experience and delicious treats. Now I have to walk the block to burn a few calories. read more

What's better than donuts on a rainy day?! I can think of a few....but that's not for this page....don't judge me lol. Anyway, I've been anxious to go to Dough for a while now and finally made it there today. Let's start with the aesthetics of the store, which was very charming. I wish, however, I could say the same for the customer service. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the delicious choices of donuts and started placing my order but was abruptly interrupted by..."How many do you want?" I replied, I'm not sure....and proceeded to place my order (ended up with 4). Anyway, I taste tested all 4 and from my first bite I was in love. They are fluffy and moist and each flavored donut lived up to their name. If you have a sweet tooth like myself, you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend. Enjoy! read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed this place, it's my absolute favorite donut shop! I first heard about them through smorgasburg although last time I went they weren't there so not sure if they are still a part of the event. The donuts here are delicious and fluffy and changed my entire outlook on what a good donut is. They are a bit pricey ($5-6 last time I went) but the size is worth the price! I've been to about 3 of their locations and have never had any issues with service. All the flavors are fantastic and unique. Highly recommend!! read more

So happy to have Dough in the neighborhood. I'm not a huge donut fan, but when I do have one... this cakey style is my favorite. I had to try a few different flavors (which were good) but honestly their classic glazed was my favorite. Will definitely go again! My also point of confusion is that they open later than I would expect for a donut shop. I'm very limited on when I can pop in to get one, because when I walk past on my way to the train in the morning (around 8am) they are still not open. But that's no reason to not give 5-stars! read more

Dough is back! The original dough which was founded in BKLYN is back in prospect heights. Opening day set the stage for brooklynites giving the shop love as the line was down the block all day. Now to the doughnuts. I am not a huge fan of many doughnuts to be honest but these ingredients are quality. They are quite dense and large. I am unsure how one would eat the whole thing in one sitting. 5 stars for flavors 3 stars with how big and heavy they are. Also the staff are nice and cordial. Finally found the elusive passionfruit donuts that I have been looking for for months. They're 5.65 each, bought two because they are such a hard flavor to come by and are out when I go to the other locations, and the spot that used to be at time out market in dumbo is no longer there. Quick service, there is no minimum on card and server was friendly. There is a service charge when using credit card. read more

I'm not a huge fan of these. They are "cake-y" and very heavy and have a strange aftertaste. It seems only the frosting varies among the flavors. The service was very nice. It's more of a takeout place; there's a bench and I think only one table. read more

We have been doing tastings of the different donut shops in NY and today we decided to try Dough. These donuts are huge and heavy, which now I understand why they are on the pricier side. They are nice looking. To me, this isnt a donut. It is dense and dry, more like a sweet breakfast bread or brioche type. I would say it is more of a pastry. I definately should have gotten a cup of coffee to dunk it in. I couldnt eat a whole donut. read more

My son loves donuts, so I figured it was time to elevate his experience from the standard to the extraordinary -- in both size and flavor. I just couldn't get him to try something other than strawberry, which they did not have at the time. I, on the other hand, tried the cafe au lait and mango. I preferred the tropical flavor, but would definitely recommend visiting earlier in the day because the options are more limited by mid-afternoon. I have my eye on the hibiscus, nutella, chocolate-cocoa nib, mocha-almond crunch, dulce de leche -- almonds, toasted coconut, and passion fruit for next time. I am glad that this location is much closer than the Franklin Avenue one, but not directly in my backyard or I'd be in serious trouble with this sweet tooth. read more

Stopped by right around the time they opened. There was still the smell of fresh paint. It was the end of the day, so there were only a few options left. Just had to get the Brooklyn Blackout since that was their exclusive for returning to Brooklyn. If you like chocolate and sweet... and pudding filled donuts, then that's the one for you! I couldn't tell you the exact location of the place because it was a vendor, but I assume it's probably somewhere I would conveniently go to. I definitely wanna go to the Brooklyn location.

Some people are ok with that. But let's talk about that sugar rise donut! Sugar rise was my favorite! When I bite into any donut covered in granulated sugar it better coat my lips like my chapstick. That sugar just sat on my lips as if it was just meant to be there. The staff were amazing. They were working hard getting orders taken and putting orders out. The interior was quaint and clean. Bottled water for $1 is a major win in my book! So thank you for that. Seating is limited. It's tiny in there. Great spot! Hit them up!

Would definitely come back to try the other seafood dishes.
