On a cold rainy day I had an event to attend but definitely in need of some coffee. So after getting of from the train I was looking down from the train station to see if there was any coffee place . And this one catches my eyes! When I get inside the whole place was empty, I figured it's the weather! Loved the decor , very clean, customer service is on point! I saw the sign it stated best croissant in town so you know me, gotta try that ! I don't live in that area , let alone in that borough. So can't say if it was the best in town on not ! But I enjoyed a lot of, it was delicious. I requested the server to warm it up . It tasted yummy with my cappuccino! I had the chance to talk to the servers & found out it's a woman owned business & I felt proud . Because it was kinda empty I get a chance & took some pictures lol ! This is a really good bakery right in the neighborhood and I was finally able to give it a try. Ambiance was neat clean and organized with lots of seating and bright light. There were tables and chairs and I could've easily pulled out my laptop and worked from inside the store. Service was cool, the person taking my order made me a really delicious cafe au latte but, unfortunately the chocolate almond croissant I ordered was to perfection because I'd asked for it hot and it wasn't. Meh... that's all I've got to say. I came here a while back to take an interview, as my apartment was quite noisy that day. I got a coffee and a pastry, and a sandwich. I wasn't impressed in the least. Both food products tasted like they had been made many days in advance and had a terrible aftertaste. The environment is nice and warm, and the staff are so kind, but there is nothing really special about it. I wish it had better tasting food/beverage. This is in a prime location next to the train, and could be a staple for locals as I pass this every day, on my way to work. It is part of a collection of stores in my neighborhood that are trying to cater to the wave of gentrifiers, who will buy anything as long as it seems pretentious. Their pastries always taste fresh. They are on the pricier side though. I was going to buy a few croissant but at $4 and some change a pop, that would have been like $20 or so for only 4. They are located on a great corner, near the train station. I don't drink coffee but people seem to love it. They do have herbal teas, which is more my speed. There's tons of natural sunlight if you opt to sit for a time and enjoy your selections. Enough tables to sit folks but provide space. They also have a counter with chairs where you can people watch. It sucks that it's closed on Mondays. That's when folks need a dose of something sweet and something hot. Before I forget, it's Black owned. All in all, I hope it last. read more

I am only writing this review because I would like this place to do some proper training to the staffs and correct these issues. I went from a 4 star review to 1 star because on 1/21 my friend was visiting me from Japan and due to pandemic we couldn't do a full blown dinner. I advised we could get something to drink and sit at a park in the cold weather. We went to The Buren, but the place was closed and S mentioned she passed by this place and I said I already checked their hours and they're closed. She mentioned it was still open when she walked up to meet me so I called them and they said they were still open. We got there and the woman wearing glasses and wavy hair asked us if we needed any help. We were not comfortable here, because there were loiters just hanging around here with no masks. They weren't eating or drink, but just standing there. We wanted to hurry up and leave, but I put in my order first because I decided to get the pomme beignet and pain au chocolate and apple turnover this time. I also decided to get a hot chocolate, but before I did, I asked if this was homemade and not the powder stuff. She said it wasn't made in house, but it's from a reputable vendor and etc. She advised it wasn't overly sweet, but she could make it sweet if needed. We both were sold on the hot chocolate and liked the fact it wouldn't be overly sweet. When she brought mine to me, my friend mentioned to me she didn't wash her hands. I was like please don't tell me that because that really grosses me out. I said well did she do anything where she touched the ingredients? Since S paid in cash, she took her money and didn't wash her hands and she touched the cup lip all around and then presented it to S. This is super offensive in Japan and though we're not in Japan, this would bother me as well because money is dirty and no one should touch the area where your mouth goes with dirty hands. I told S let's just get a straw, but unfortunately, I lost my straw along the way to the park but the other major flaw is this is one of the worst hot chocolate I ever had. I would have preferred a swiss miss over this one. I got mine with oat milk but it just tasted like water with barely any chocolate flavouring. S thought the same and she got hers with almond milk and we ended up throwing both of them away. I think I'll stick to the pastries here. read more

Very nice little bakery on a very busy street. They have French pastries like croissants, baguettes, tarts, exc. They have a variety of coffees and tea. It's very cute and comfy in the inside. Cute chairs and tables. I had a bread with guava inside. I forgot the name but it was absolutely delicious. The person I was with had a tuna sandwich which came on a hero. Found myself deciding between the holiday inn express breakfast, and literally anything else. Glad I chose the latter, and went for a short walk to Bonjour Brooklyn! Wonderful, fluffy, and the right amount of "crisp" on the crossiant! Good balance of chocolate to pastry. A nice selection of other pastries and desserts. Hidden gem in the hood! When you walk in you're automatically hit with the clean nice quiet, ambience, café vibes. To the left, you'll see a huge variety of pastries. It has a little something for everyone. And the back wall has another menu with good eats the coffee menu is elaborate. This place has beautiful green chairs and lots of seating space although I wish they would've been more seating space because it was occupied when I entered. I used to frequent this bakery regularly while working from home exclusively for three years. Previously, the counter staff were friendly. I have stopped in twice, once after work and again this morning, only to be met with substandard customer service. There is one counter person who has no manners at all. Since she was bubbly to the person behind me, I assume it's because I'm not new to the neighborhood. There's no point in continuing to buy pastries when the counter staff seems more eager to serve newcomers. read more

I order and then sit and watch as the people behind the counter chat and dilly dally. My order doesn't go into the toaster until it's the right time for them. I am busy and hungry and I've got time while I wait for my 2 items to be warmed to sit and write this review. I'm sure they haven't gone in the toaster yet. Let me tell you why I will never come back here again. Bonjour Brooklyn has really delicious pastries & I liked going there to work because it's not very busy with strong Wi-Fi and good open space. The first time they gave me trouble they asked my sister to leave because SHE didn't make a purchase even though I bought pastries for the both of us, which was already super weird, but I was like okay fine. THEN they asked us to leave again because they started a BRAND NEW policy (likely as a result of our presence) that you can only stay for 2 hours. Their claim was we keep other people from being able to use the space/plugs..... Meanwhile there were 4 empty tables; I was floored! The "manager" THEN said out of the "kindness of his heart" we can stay longer if we buy more stuff LOL. The truth is they just wanted us to keep buying items and don't like that we come there to work (even though we buy and tip). We weren't bothering anyone, so it was just rude and weird. Noticed this bakery while driving to work. Decided to quickly stop in try out a couple of bakery items. I tried the ham & cheese croissant and the brioche de cannelle. Bear in mind, I am a bakery connoisseur. I've been to the best in Manhattan & Brooklyn. These two items were exceptional. The ham & cheese had the perfect amount of filling. The pastry was perfectly fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The brioche de cannelle didn't look like much at first glance, but the taste was amazing. Perfect balance of sweetness and tasted as if it was baked an hour prior. I can't wait to taste every bakery item they have. read more
