Lemon cupcakes with passion fruit buttercream
Mardory V.

Yummmmmy! Lémon cupcakes, cortados, mini cakes and that confounding bacon jam croissant are all worthy of my ****200th review****!!! Recently, had a friend recommend this place and Im so glad I obliged. If it werent for thé fact that my hands were full of goods, I think I could have taken a million pictures of this cozy space and all thé goods it holds. Worth mentioning that it is wheelchair accessible as well. Clean, organized and well spaced out are all great descriptors of this venue. The décor is modern, yet quaint, with mini chandelier lights, Blue paint and marble tables which are strangely reminiscent of a large home kitchen. Chef-owner, Penny, is Sweet as pie (see what I did there) but dont let that sweetness fool you as she makes savory treats appear with a slight of hand. Clearly, I could gush on and on but your best bet is to go try it for yourself. I highly doubt you will leave disappointed.

Never leave without a cake pop, praline or a cupcake on the side of your coffee. Without dizzying display of multicolor batches of confectionery, place is a lesson in warm Brooklyn modernism.

Breakfast Cookie (almond, chocolate)

It's really difficult to decide what to order here, unless you have issues being disciplined when it comes to sugar consumption... Like me, and order a bit of this and a lot of that... There will be enough that captures your eye from a salt and pepper croissant to peanut butter cookies or Macarons or even macaroons. I think the baker is pretty accomplished to pull off all of this while ensuring creative tweaks here and there: like raisins in the fudgy dark chocolate pecan brownie or the chocolate croissant bread pudding. If you have issues with delayed gratification - like me - it would be advisable to skip the goods in the refrigerated case and stick with room temperature goods for I could barely sink my teeth into the cupcake 15 minute after purchase without escaping the feeling of having eaten a stick of butter... That said, I'm really impressed by the room temperature baked goods with my favorite being the breakfast cookie - it's almost like cookie dough with almonds and chocolate and made me think of it as a quality marzipan product. All in all, a pretty impressive addition to a neighborhood that has Blue Stove as well.

Red Velvet Birthday cake for my roommate
Lydia S.

I'm giving 4 stars because until recently I thought this place was a little expensive for my tastes, but I recently bought a birthday cake here and had an amazing experience with Penny, the owner. She went above and beyond on making me a beautiful cake. I ordered a large red velvet cake with cream cheese dressing. I didn't specify decorations or anything, so imagine my surprise when this BEAUTIFUL cake was made. There were multiple comments at my roommate's birthday party -- "This is literally the best cake I've EVER had" "This is crazy good" "This is the most beautiful cake I've ever seen" etc etc Of course everyone had second helpings...and then third helpings...

Dairy free, SOY free! Gluten free!! Zucchini chocolate chip muffin. The. Most. Decadent. Healthy (?) Muffin. I have -ever- had!!

Delicious new bakery I'm thankful for. Been dreaming of the day a bakery would open up in the area. Thank you a million. Granted the decor, unfortunately must say, needs to be taken up a notch (a wee bit cheesy) but very clean. Update: TRY THE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE!!! OMG. Best thing ever. It's like a sugar cookie on steroids. The kind of gooey crispy sugar cookie I'm always searching for and can't find. The chocolate croissant pudding bar thing is goood too. Thumbs up

Couldn't "bear" to eat them!

Plum cardamom macaron

Highly recommend the macarons and chocolate bread pudding. The macarons were some of the best ones I've had. I had the plum cardamom which looked exquisite and was firm upon bite. Super sweet, would go well with a cup of tea. The chocolate bread pudding was delightful and lasted me two days with its chocolatey goodness. I also tried a hazelnut chocolate cupcake and it did not disappoint. The pastries here are definitely top notch, and I can't wait to return to try some of the other goodies.

Cake of a 1958 MG model

Penny was great! I asked and she delivered. I wanted a cake made the same model as my fathers 1958 MG and that is exactly what she gave me. Everyone loved the cake it was beautiful. Not only was it beautiful it tasted great. Penny is very confident about her work and helps you every step of the way making your cake vision come to life. Loved it!

Jasmine icing. Yum.

The counter was emptied when we first came but it filled up pretty quickly. We just got a matcha latte and one prix fixe menu to share. For the main dessert, we picked the chocolate and hojicha soufflé. The chocolate soufflé was light and airy and not too sweet. It paired very well with the hojicha ice cream and caramel apple on the side. Overall, all the dessert was pretty good but everything was very small and I don't think it tasted that good that it worth $30. The service was also not that great. My husband and I were a little confused when we first got into the store and we weren't sure if we needed to be seated. A lady that worked there saw us but never greeted us nor gave us water until we asked. It took a while for someone to acknowledge us and it just made us felt a little uncomfortable.

Interior was super cute and smelled amazing. The pastries all looked delicious, and I ended up getting a green tea crepe cake. The texture was perfect and had the perfect level of green tea flavor and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Definitely understand the urgency in coming and was so happy we did!!

She was not wrong! My son has an egg allergy, so we decided on a vegan chocolate cake with a dairy frosting. She made a beautiful chocolate cake with the beautiful flowers on top. The cake tasted like a regular cake, and you couldn't tell it was vegan. It was just incredible. Amy's chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, and I also really enjoy her rosewater scones. The day I picked up the cake for my son's birthday, I also got my mom a slice of vanilla coconut cake which I froze for her visit 2 weeks later. She loved her cake, also. There is literally nothing bad you can have her, and her new partnership with Gratitude Leaves is amazing. They do have maybe 4 tables and some seating by the window for people to have coffee and a pastry but that's not what they are really set up for - no wifi and no restrooms for longer visits. They do have cute mugs ans cups and the place looks vintage and sweet. The coffee was just OK, lots of competition in Brooklyn but I don't have an overview on the cakes or pastries - something to try next time. For just the cafe, it's a-ok. It's the tiniest little big shop with the most amazing breakfast burrito burritos. There's a lot of chairs set up outside so definitely better to come during the warmer months. However, it was worth it to bear the cold for this burrito. We came at opening and it was already wait, but we only waited about 15 minutes. The burrito itself is quite massive and definitely one to be shared. We got the add-on with avocado, which is a must. The burrito was very flavorful with a lots of different fillings - potatoes, chorizo, egg, and cheese. I also can't forget that this is a bakery after all, so we also ordered some baked goods. All of their butter mochis have an excellent texture and strong flavor. I'm only sad that I missed out on their signature pandan but I'm happy that I was able to try their ube. The s'mores brownie was everything I had hoped for and more. It had all the works - actual pieces of graham cracker, ooey gooey marshmallow, and a rich chocolatey brownie.

Even though they cannot warm it up, the texture is still perfect - crisp on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside with the chocolate chunks melted to the amount and a generous sprinkle of sea salt. The breakfast burrito was quite frankly... really disappointing. Other than the tortilla which was nicely toasted, the egg was a bit overcooked, the chorizo was a bit too much and not soft enough, and the I really wish they used crispy hash browns instead of potato chunks. The potato chunks felt a bit off and did not taste too good in the burrito. Right now, it's take out only with a couple of benches to sit outside. Wait time for a burrito is around 15 min.
