We went to this restaurant on a weekend for brunch. Since we were a little extra hungry we shared the Connie's Wedding wood-fired pizza to start. I loved that it came with shaved truffles on top. The flavor of the truffle was not overpowering and had a light delicate flavor that went well with the salty taleggio cheese. The pizza dough was very unique since it was not the classic New York thin pizza crust that the city its known for, but had the consistency of a naan flatbread. For entree I got the lumache pasta that came with a pork ragu. The pasta was cooked to very al dente. It had a bite to the pasta, but I'd prefer my pasta to be slightly more on the softer side. The pork ragu was really good but can use some fresh basil to brighten it up. Service overall was very good. Our waitress was great and she made sure we had everything we needed. read more

It's really nice and romantic. We went for the Highline String Quartet Candlelight concert by Fever. It was such a magnificent experience. They played holiday classics during dinner. Leuca is good and had I not gone to a restaurant with similar offerings but superior execution I might have given it 5 stars. We started off with the Roasted squash and ricotta antipasti - the roasted squash was really delicious with dimensions of flavors and textures while the ricotta was good but as great as the squash. That said if you've never had ricotta with honey you should definitely try it but this is one of the dishes I liked slightly better somewhere else. For my entree I had the truffle pizza...HUGE miss. I did not taste the truffle on this at all and the presentation of the pizza was also disappointing. This is the other dish on their menu that is executed far better elsewhere so if you are deciding between the truffle pizza and something else, I recommend you pass on the pizza. They redeemed themselves at dessert with their pistachio cake accompanied by olive oil ice cream - divine pairing and execution! Almost good enough to help me repress the memory of the pizza! The sommelier is also great and hit the nail on the head when I told her the type of flavors we were looking for in a wine. The ambiance is lively and sexy making it perfect for anything from a date night to a group outing with friends. Came here while on a date with a guy who wanted to take me to a venue with the best rooftop view in Williamsburg. It's one of those places where you'll be waiting for a bit if you're early for your reservation. He suggested killing time here and I said sure. It was a little chilly (I get cold easily though it was hot outside at the time) but I got the classic tomato, mozzarella and basil pizza which was really good without being something that would make up my entire dinner. My date had alcohol. I'm unlikely to be in this area regularly as I'm no longer seeing that guy and I live somewhere entirely different (not to mention not wanting to run into an ex who may venture into this area) but if you're in the area, it's worth a trip. While this is a very attractive restaurant, the fact that it was empty on a Saturday at 1pm should have been a warning sign. I had the $20 sausage and cheese breakfast sandwich and I can confidently say it was the worst sandwich I've had in my life. I didn't know it was possible to make bread that dry, and the eggs tasted microwaved and rubbery. There was zero sauce on the sandwich as well so it basically tasted like nothing. This was a wonderful dining experience! From the food to the service to the ambiance, we have zero complaints and loved it all! The Sheep's Milk Ricotta, Hot Honey & Garlic, Grilled Bread appetizer was our favorite item but the Rigatoni, Lamb Bolognese, Ricotta, Mint was trailing right behind it. Both were decadent. What a cute place for a nice dinner or date. We ended up being seated outside and there were heat lamps but still rather chilly that night. Service from the waitress was actually not that great-we had to continuously depend on the hostess which is not supposed to happen. It was only until the server saw us already paying inside til she asked "oh is there anything wrong?" The appetizer was great-bread was so crisp and warm! I think we finished all of it and kept asking for more bread, the ricotta was delicious with just enough amount. The pesto pasta was amazing although I'm not sure if the sweet and sour peppers were my taste, I ended up putting them to the side but the rest of the dish was so yummy. We went 30 minutes after they opened on a Saturday so not sure if the staff has arrived yet or what but drinks took almost 15 minutes to get each out, waiter was forgetting to bring stuff out and this was in an almost empty restaurant. Pizzas were really good but we had almost finished them all before they brought out my boyfriends avocado toast... and it's avocado toast.. not much cooking required. Checking other yelp reviews, and poor service seems to be a theme here. It's a pricey spot but maybe worth your time if you're really wanting to try it and not in a hurry. Amazing ambience, friendly staff, and great food. Went here for their Candlelight event that included live classical music and it was quite the delight. They had a prefixed menu that was included with our tickets (table for 2) which had selections for people who may have dietary restrictions. From what I recall, they offered sheep's milk ricotta as well as salad for antipasti. They offered short ribs, pasta, as well as fish for the secondi options. Drinks and dessert weren't included with our ticket but we had the option to order from their regular menu as well, including their extensive wine selection, so that worked out perfectly fine. This place is perfect for a date or anniversary; the entire atmosphere is very romantic. Everything we ordered was delicious - tomato watermelon salad (so divine I dug right in and forgot to take a pic), bucatini, black tonnarelli and pistachio olive oil cake. Some reviews said the bucatini was too spicy, too oily, tastes like Mike's red and hot--- it was none of these things for me luckily. They made use some fantastic ginger lemon mocktails. The wine selection is very good and there cocktails menu has everything you'd love. Now the food, A++ I went for a solo date to celebrate me and I had always wanted to try this restaurant. So I ordered the Sheep's Milk Ricotta, it's whipped and they add hot honey in the center of your bowl so that if you choose not to eat it with honey it won't ruin your experience. It also comes with a garlic bread, so paired all together it's truly heavenly. For my entree I had the Mafaldine, this almond pesto dish is divine, it had a soft taste of sweet and salty blended very well not powerful. We all know almond can have a pretty distinct taste but this dish was absolutely delicious. Since I was full at that point I ordered the pistachio cake to go and when I tasted it at home I knew immediately I would want to pair it with ice cream (my personal choice). I'm super big on customer service and experience and found it odd that no one asked me how I liked my meal that's the only reason for the 4 stars. For entrees I had the black tonnarelli pasta with ruby shrimp and local calamari - the portion was more than enough and they were very generous with the shrimp and calamari! My friend had the smoked pork chop and enjoyed it very much! Washed it down with a beautiful bottle of a Sicilian Girolamo 'San Lorenzo' 2016 | Nerello Mascalese, the absolute perfect pairing with our meal and experience! My cousin brought me and my mom here for dinner on our trip out to NYC. She lives in Brooklyn and has been here a couple of times. She said she's never had anything she didn't like. I had the Bucatini Calabrese and I ate it all! It was so good! Not too spicy at all. I love bucatini and this did not disappoint. My mom got the Casarecce Alla Norma which she really liked. I've been to Leuca about 3-4 times. I will say last night probably was the worst experience ever. Upon arrival it was a small wait of three people to talk to the host. While the host went to go seat a table and we waited for her to come back, ADAM a dude who think we still in the 70s comes to the counter and informs another group that he will sit them. We had been standing there he didn't even look at us ! It was so rude and uncomfortable for my party! Being that they were no people of color here already. I spoke to a shorter guy with short curly hair about it and he really just listened didn't say sorry or anything..... we sat and waited with water for about 30 mins no one came to us it was 4 people we onlay 3 cups it took forever just get a cup for water they just threw us in the corner and forgot us because we ended up being one of the very last parties on the deck but we had been there since 7:45 so u do the math.... Adam and the rest of the host but Chelsea was rude and and it accepting of us for no reason bc of our color. The rest of the night Adam made racial comments talking to his coworkers right in front of us it was so awkward I just can't believe I was treated like this bc I always come here I'm very well comfortable financially and it unacceptable that to eat regular southern Italian food I'm being ridiculed like I'm at the most expensive restaurant.... I didn't even wanna take a picture of our food bc it took so long to come and it was COLD and by far the worst than my other experiences. We came back to Leuca for the roast pig. We were super excited for the feast, but we were some what disappointed. We waited a hell of a long time to get our pig. Supposedly, there was a mess up in the kitchen which is totally fine. We were enjoying our drinks we ordered and such. When We finally got our pig the skin was super crunchy (awesome), but the meat was super chewy and stringy! It wasn't as appetizing as we expected. It was juicy just not as tender as we thought. It was tough and super hard to pull apart and some parts were un appetizingly chewy. Def not good eats. I feel like it wasn't cooked as long as it should have been. Maybe a few more hours for porky. The rapini it came with was smoky and good but messy since it was hard to cut. Overall, not worth 80 bucks in my opinion ! We also got dessert, little donuts filled with custard which was very satisfying and some gelato. Americano was on point! Leuca is beautiful and romantic. Leuca seems like it would be nice but it is not. We sat outside and no one ever came over to wait on us. It was such a bad experience with different back waiters coming over to us and saying that a waiter would be over soon. It was impossible to get menus and once we did we were only able to order appetizers and no one ever came back. We did order sparkling water through a back waiter and the sparkling water was hot and flat. We were thirsty waiting for menus and had to serve ourself some water from a stand in the back.
