This is a must-visit destination for anyone who likes fresh pasta. Cono, the sales associate behind the counter on 3/15/26, highly recommended the Porcini and Cheeses Pasta. It cost me $13.78 for one bag, and it was worth it. The taste was hard to beat! The filling was powerfully tasty. I could taste the Porcini and all the cheeses. Cono provided good service by providing me a sample of some prosciutto. He was also jovial--engaging in small chit chat with me. The only negative thing about my customer experience is that the store sells a limited amount of sauce. I only saw three in the freezer: marinara, vodka, and pesto. Where was the Puttanesca or the Arrabbiata that I was expecting from a Brooklyn Italian grocery store? Also, the store interior needs some updating to compete with other five borough Italian grocery stores. read more

Old-school pasta manufacturer in the still predominantly Italian section of East Williamsburg dominated by row homes. This is pretty much the only shop I will go for the extra purpose of purchasing fresh pasta (sometimes I'll pick up some at Russo's in the East Village if I'm there to buy fresh mozzarella, but it's more of an afterthought). The owner has mentioned to me that the sacchettoni is one of the more laborious varieties to make and so they don't always have it on offer. If you happen to see this gem on the shelves, make sure you seize the opportunity. read more

While looking around for something to do in Williamsburg, just so happens we came across this place with exceptional reviews. Typically fresh made pastas interest me and I go crazy to try it. We bought two flavors - broccoli rabe and portobello. We cooked it up and boy was it delicious. I'm so glad to have stopped in. Portobello was definitely my favorite. This place is a true hole in the wall. I would've probably walked past it but I went because my friend raved about their pasta. And they were right! It's amazing and so fresh - they cut it right when you order and you can't beat their prices. Definitely get the pappardelle and their homemade sauces are delicious as well. They have a large selection with weekly specials of their ravioli, which is also pretty good. The grocery selection is also great for some hard to find imported dried pastas, canned tomatoes, condiments, etc. The service wasn't the friendliest when I first started going here but they've seemed to improved this recently. read more

Always love a fresh homemade pasta. You can instantly tell the difference between a fresh batch and something that came from a box. We picked up two packages from this small, slightly hidden store in a very residential area. Their ravioli is perfectly plump and is delicious with or without a sauce. So I guess I'm in the minority here when I say their pastas are horrible. I'm writing this as I throw out a batch of their paparrdelle and put on some fresh water for some DeCocco. Their spaghetti and porcini ravioli was less disgusting but still belonged in the garbage. I promise you, this isn't my first time cooking, or cooking fresh pasta for that matter. They all were doughy and soggy in the first 90 seconds of dunking them in boiling water. And it hurts my heart and stomach to throw out pasta(and my money). Maybe it was a bad batch? The lobster contains 12 large ravoilis and 30 small ones for each of the rest. The lobster was everyone's favorite, "OMG Megan, it's SO good, it's as if there's a whole lobster in there." I guess it's safe to presume that they don't skimp on zee lobster. The pumpkin and spinach were my favorites. These bad boys/girls are easy to make. If I can succeed, anyone can. Just boil water and plop them in for 8-10 mins and whala, a happy belly. The lady who rang me up was a sweetheart. Perhaps this change has been implemented to be more "welcoming" to people walking past, however, the noise level is disruptive and negatively impacting the residents on the block. Please limit the noise volume so your neighbors can work, live, and eat your pasta more in peace. The noise is not welcoming. It is annoying and casts the shop in a negative lens. The Savino's ravioli are to die for. My family and I are conducting a head-to-head ravioli taste test and Savino's has beat favorites from Long Island and Philadelphia. Hands down. No contest. This place has been bookmarked for 10 long months! My family is a big beautiful blend of Italians and Puerto Ricans. Sometimes we want arroz and others, we want fresh pasta. For Christmas, we decided to get fresh ravioli to go with our homemade marinara sauce (wepa). My mom and I headed over to Savino's and when we looked around the owner could smell our curiosity. Asked if it was our first time here. we said yes and were handed a spoonful of fresh ricotta cheese. Yes, that did it. 4 boxes of beautiful round cheese filled ravioli's later, we were home cooking up some tasty pasta. Granny is funny. She buys fresh pasta... not frozen, then takes home the fresh pasta and freezes it. Dont be like granny. we kept our pasta in the fridge for one day. And on Christmas day we cooked them up with some sausage, lamb neck, and giant meatballs. We allowed our pasta to cook for 6 short minutes and they were al dente and perfect. I recommend letting them cool before eating as they tend to taste like nothing if you eat them piping hot. A little time for the ricotta inside to get its act togheter and the ravioli is addicting! I arrived late, looking for fettuccini. You get a big bag of the stuff for like $3.50. In my case, the fettuccine was gone. Apparently people shop Savino's early, and the store owners don't wanna make too much, you know, who wants yesterday's fresh fettuccine? So -- I coulda gone for ravioli, there was plenty of the legendary ravioli, but you know? I had meatballs on the stove already. Meatballs, you want fettuccine. Oh, hey look, black fettuccine. One last bag. That's squid ink stuff, usually for seafood-based sauces, but what are you gonna do? Six bucks, she says. "You know that's squid ink." I tell her I'm hep, I'm into it. She was friendly. That hour -- it was late in the day, but still she seemed prepared to chat if I wanted. Couldn't. I got meatballs, see. The fettuccine had a pleasant, slightly saline flavor, maybe. My boyfriend insists it did. To be honest, I've never noticed a huge difference of flavor in black pasta, but that doesn't matter: the TEXTURE was fantastic. I'd pay $6 for pasta this good black or white. But ya don't gotta. You can pay about half that much for yer big bag of regular fettuccine, just get out of the apartment at a decent hour. Why would anyone buy dried pasta with this little gem in the neighborhood? My brother is so addicted to this place that he makes a trip at least once a week for their fresh manicotti, pasta sauce, and raviolis. My brother cannot cook and he is lazy but Savino's has cured him of these things. :) The pappardelle is awesome and they do cut it fresh for you. Everything is reasonably priced. And, did I mention that it's all delicious? Their gnocchi is to die for. DO THIS: Go to Savino's. Buy a bag of ricotta gnocchi. In a pan, brown 1/2 a stick of butter. Turn off the heat and add 1 diced shallot and 2 tblsp of minced sage leaves. Add a teaspoon a fresh squeezed lemon juice. Boil some water. Add gnocchi and a little bit of salt. When the gnocchi floats to the top, scoop out with a slotted spoon into the pan with the browned butter sauce. Mix it all together. Eat. Taste buds explode from happiness. Thank me later. read more

Ok, so I've sadly only been here once so far. But I think my life changed on Sunday when I finally walked in here for the first time. They've got a great selection, not only of pasta, but of italian specialty items. Such as these strange pellets that are supposed to dissolve in water creating lemon soda, but really taste like alka seltzer or airborne; I don't like them but I feel happy knowing I could get them if I wanted. Also they've got San Pellegrino 6-packs for $6, which is a pretty good price; and not only that, but they've got both Aranciata and Chinotto flavors. I've never seen Chinotto before and I've never tried it, and I like that to. How great to have a store that carries fun Italian stuff that you haven't tried before! My roomate and I bought a pound of fresh Pappardelle, cut while I waited, as advertised, and it was fantastic. We paired it with a jar of Trader Joe's marinara and some veggie odds and ends from the fridge (plus parmigiana of course) and it tasted great! I can't wait to use this pasta to make my favorite pasta dishes; Amatriciana, Carbonara, Oxtail Ragu. Its going to be soooooo tasty! read more

Come early in the day for the best variety of fresh pastas, and of course, make sure to take home at least one tray (12 pieces) of fresh ravioli. For about $4 you will receive enough pasta for at least 2 dinners, or one dinner for 2, and the quality can not be beat. These guys sell to the local restaurants who turn around and sell it to patrons at $15-20/plate, easy. Its a good idea to make food at home sometimes, right? Might as well do it in style. I practically walked by it on the way to the Lorimer Street Meat Market (my go to spot for sandwiches and meat products). I am Italian and old school and have tasted the best in my lifetime. Her review can only be attributed to inadequate knowledge of cooking pasta. And maybe cooking in general. I can attest to the care that Savino's puts into their pastas. Have been a customer for years and glad to see they have reopened. Their ravioli are some of the best i have ever had. I've been coming here for about a year now -- time to write a review. There is nothing better than this place, which once stayed open late when I called ahead and explained I'd gotten out late from work. The ravioli are delicious -- I can vouch for porcini/portabella, goat cheese, pumpkin, spinach, and roasted red pepper -- but since Northern Williamsburg used to be an actual Italian neighborhood, the real treasure is that these are still people making pasta and cutting it themselves. There's nothing better than pasta made with real semolina flour that morning. They've renovated over the summer, adding more counter space, but there's really no need: those $6, $6.75 and $7 boxes of 30 ravioli totally do it for me: they feed me and my voracious boyfriend, which is a feat. Savino's also has sauces available, but the ravioli would also be delicious with garlic butter, or your own marinara. Just don't overcook them! read more
