This place has some real deal stuff, and you will more than likely buy more than what you originally ordered. If you are like me, and you eat with your eyes, you will easily spend over $50 on your first visit and all visits to come. Since I work close to hear, I usually call in my cold cut order and come to pick up in the afternoon. We visit NYC every few years and seek out the non-commercial places for a more authentic experience and a visit to Emily's did not disappoint. In fact it was one of the best parts of our trip this time out. It is very small and there is no seating but that is the beauty of these old, but enduring deli/meat stores! There isn't even a menu because guess what? They will make you whatever you want or can imagine! Be creative and ask! Then, take your sandwich and an Italian cola and walk a couple of blocks down the street to a small park, sit in the shade and enjoy watching every day life in an old, but nice, safe neighborhood. It would be nice if they got a couple of small round tables with a few chairs out front, but just my thoughts and, regardless, we will go back again. These folks have been there for more than 50 years and could not have been more genuine, friendly and helpful. Serving up awesome, authentic Italian sandwiches with great customer service, Emily's is the place to go. Drinking Game: Take a shot every time I mention "Pork" in this review. *Sniff sniff* "You smell like pork." After a spontaneous trip to Emily's Pork Store we both did. I had been aching to visit the shop since visiting Motorino (they use pork products from this joint). Walking in was like traveling through time. It's a Brooklyn that I had thought was pretty much gone from the area. An ancient gentleman and a much younger man were behind the counter (I am 99% sure they are related), and behind them were yellowing, curling photographs from earlier days. Shirtless men flexing, pictures of people with pork, baby photos. It felt homey. The store is small, but it's packed with fresh Italian delicacies and a ton of imported goods. There were at least 20 different cheeses, aged and fresh. 4 kinds of fresh mozzarella that day (smoked, unsalted, salted celigne, and marinated celigne) all for just $5.99/lb. The Broccoli Rabe pork sausage that I was visiting for was also $5.99/lb. While the mozzarella wasn't AMAZING, the sausage was, and I really can't complain. It's a pork store, not a cheese store. For my next visit I plan on buying some of their fresh pappardelle...perhaps I will serve it with a pork ragout! read more

"Walk into Emily's Pork Store in the historically Italian neighborhood of East Williamsburg, and you're likely to find owner Gennaro "Jerry" Aliperti playing butcher, sandwich composer, and jokester to customers and friends. Emily's is a true locals' place -- Aliperti says about 85 percent of his business comes from regulars. This is a specialty store from another time, and it remains committed to old traditions and high standards. Aliperti's uncle Frank opened the shop in 1974, naming it after his wife. If I could give Emily's a 10, I would. This place could be called The Charcutterie Center. They have the choicest cured meats and Italian cheese. I like their namesake pork as well, but I'm partial to their fresh Italian pastas and authentic Italian sausages -- the fennel is a must. They have hand tied braciole for your Sunday Gravy, delicious sweet and hot sausages for the grill, beautiful house made antipastas, a wide variety of imported cheese and homemade burrata, and a good selection of Italian pastas and jarred sauces.
