Cute little sandwich shop, stopped in on a cold day. I got the "Quebecker" which is a super simple sandwich, almost a French dip. Roast beef, cheese, horseradish, and onion but the sandwich really lacked any horseradish or onions lol. Comes with a container of French soup to dip in, which was SUPERB and made the crunchy baguette really good. My total was $22 for the sandwich and it's relatively small so value not great but I really like how they make it. It's not overflowing and hard to eat, really well packed with the ingredients. This shop is well stocked with items ranging from grocery staples to small gifts . Flowers Lots of natural, organic and independent brands. There's wine and cold beverages ranging from kombucha to iced teas. They have baked goods, coffee and sandwiches etc. I went in for bakery items at close to end of day . The girls at the counter were very friendly and even rushed out to find me when I forgot one of my bags . I loved everything I bought. Especially the baguette, the loaf cake and croissant sandwich. I think this would be the perfect place to get a couple itmes if giving a food gift (perhaps for a sick friend) or anyone for that matter. If it wasn't for the price point and long wait, I would've given 4 stars. I'm not opposed to paying a steep price for high quality ingredients especially in a bougie neighborhood like williamsburg but I feel like there are much better sandwiches (and more meat) at other places in the area. The breakfast sandwich is a must order. The horseradish sauce really ties in all the flavors along with the boiled egg and bacon jam. There's a small counter inside where you can eat your food and along with outside seating. There's all sorts of snacks and drinks you can find in the grocery part of the store, which is a cool way to try something new. They didn't have on their menu but they were kind enough to substitute bread for one of their sandwich which had similar fillings. Great local sandwich shop! The overall taste of Depanneur sandwiches are top notch -- not too salty or heavy. Depending on which one you get, the portions are relatively hefty too. The interior is cute as well. They offer a selection of italian ingredients and quirky trinkets. Gives you something to look at while they are preparing your meal. I had time to sit at the counter and take pictures of a dog across the street. When I got the sandwich it was nicely wrapped, maybe it would have been easier not to get it to go if I wanted to eat and walk.... Either way it was all delicious and exactly what I wanted. The food and what they stock is great, but make sure you look at what they are charging you! I've been there 2x in the last few weeks and they have charge me more than the list price of the items. Then to top it off the guys behind the counter are beyond rude and unhelpful when you bring it up to them. Today the guy just shrugged his shoulders and said prices are going up and wasn't planning to honor the list price until I complained about it being unethical. The guy before did something similar but didnt even match the price on the bag. Said he couldn't make the adjustment. The bag of nuts said $6 and he tried to charge me $10 and we met in the middle at $8.5.
