Cute 50's diner experience! Saw them on Fox News celebrating something like 40 years in business and decided to check out the one on Central downtown. Surprised they had no specials to celebrate so many years in the business but oh well. Only 2 customers already eating when we arrived so we ordered and then waited...it was freezing cold inside and this was in January! Not sure why they'd have AC blasting but we actually decided to eat outside since it was warmer. Food was taking a while and then a bunch of people started to show up. I think there was just 2 people working so our food was taking awhile even tho we were ahead of the crowd. We got the food and our order had a few mistakes but we decided to eat it as is. Our shakes came a few minutes later since she had to make them after taking all those new orders. I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was really good! The other 2 had cheeseburgers and were pretty good but both had their order messed up so it could've been better. Overall, it's a cute place with 'pretty good' food but we probably won't be back. I remember being a broke high school stopping by Lenny's for their burgers, chili cheese fries or milkshakes whenever my friends and I had enough for a meal. I had heard great things about the fries here, so I had to stop in and try myself. I got the number 1, which was nothing to write home about especially considering the price. Fries were half seasoned and I could tell very little care was given to assembling my burger; mostly because I saw the girl doing it and she was chatting to another coworker the entire time. What really bothered me was that after I sat down with my meal, I watched as the staff pulled down parts of the ventilation system over food cooking for customers that they then turned around and served. Makes me question what happened around my food that I didn't see. Then I saw that the buns that come out of the verticals toaster touch what looks like a cleaning rag. Also this environment is more like a fast food restaurant than a actual diner. They don't even bring the food to your table. They call your order out to come pick it up from the counter. Was hoping the bad service I received the last time I was there was a fluke, but it seems like that's just how operate. I used to frequent here, but noticed the service kept getting worse and worse and worse. Long waits drive-through, order being wrong, food being cold and being overcharged. Today I went through the drive-through ended up waiting 16 minutes for the car in front of me to order their food and it was no fault of their own. When I reach the front speaker I was greeted by the recorded voice prompt. I then proceeded to wait. It took 14 minutes for someone to ask for my order. I then started only to be told 'wait hold on'. Then I waited an additional 9 minutes before I was finally allowed to order. When I pulled forward the car that was before me was still sitting there waiting. I waited for about 6 minutes and saw no sign of the car in front of me getting their order so at that point I counted my losses and just left. The time prior I had been there it took 25 mins from speaker to window to get my food. The fact I was already approx 35 mins in made me not want to waste even more of my time for some mediocre food. So I've been to this Lennys a few times and never had any issue but this is something that definitely can't be swept under the rug. I went through the drive through today at around 1:30 and got my green chili hatch burger. Everything was fine and great until I realized the burger had onions so I opened the bun to take them out and boom I found A FUCKING STAPLE IN THE BURGER. I really don't know how this happened without them being aware or knowing in the slightest. I didn't realize until I took my food back that the receipt is STAPLED to the bag so maybe while stapling someone else's order they dropped the staple in my mine idk but this is terrible. We shouldn't have to check our food for potentially fatal objects being in them and I can only imagine if some kid got a burger like this and what would happen to them. I remember a time when this place was good - not anymore. Drove through the drive thru yesterday and was extremely disappointed. If you're looking for fast and friendly, don't come here. The pull up after placing my order and the girl at the window gives me my total, no "hi". Okay, whatever, I handed her my card, she hands it back, I say "thank you", she says nothing and never mentions that there's going to be a 10 minute wait, so I'm patient. Stopped into Lenny's today because I was craving a hamburger and have been wanting to give them a try. I love the decor and old school diner theme. Kept it simple and ordered the #1, which was a single burger with cheese and all the fixings, a very generous portion of french fries, and a drink for $8.47. The food was all delicious, fries were crisp and seasoned well. The staff was friendly and my order to go was ready in just a few minutes. The fries weren't piping hot when I got them which means they were probably sitting for at least a short time but stayed crisp till I finished them, and were seasoned really well. The price point on the single burger and fries combo is probably $1-$2 higher than Lucky's but all in all I'd come back and would love to try one of the speciality burgers. read more

I used to really enjoy eating at Kenny's for many years I would go out of my way to goto lennys when it was on Thomas and central . Since the move I haven't come to this location and when I was downtown I seen the new spot turned around excited for the what I thought was the best burger in town , but was quite disappointed when the burger came out along with the fries that it was worse then a burger from a major chain .
