The Churchill isn't really a space for good conversation because of the loud atmosphere but at least the shops inside are nice. Some of the worst food I've had in years! The staff knows little or nothing about American Classic foods and how such items are supposed to taste or look. While the place has the decor' of a classic 50's burger joint (as seen when channeling Johnny Rockets perhaps) there is where any authenticity ends. What was wrong? The chili Dogs were smothered in something that looked like melted Velveta artificial cheese sauce, the franks were low quality and seriously overcooked, and the miserable onions on top looked stale! The chili itself was a few beans with some ground beef and tomato sauce, no doubt out of (yet) another can! We also had a couple of milkshakes. Tasty-Freeze instant-mix ice-cream which of course contains little, if any milk or cream. The chocolate flavoring used was Hershey's. But even authentic chocolate flavoring couldn't save the soft-serve pseudo ice-cream from being far too sugary. However the seaweed used for thickener in it was almost edible. Almost - but not quite. Oh, and we paid extra of course for a batch of "Onion Rings". I do not know whether they had any flavor of their own or not. Underneath the too-thick batter, we didn't see any onion in about 1/2 of them. Then to make matters worse, they were fried in oil that should have been changed a couple of days (or weeks) back. Rancid oil is not a nice flavor and is no substitute for onions in onion rings. Or am I being too picky? Me thinks not! I am banging out this review some 20 minutes after leaving "Lenny's Burger Shop" in the sincere hope I can save the rest of you from a wretched and terribly disappointing experience. My partner is en route to Circle K to get some Alka Seltzer - because we both feel as though we're going to be sick very soon. After that badly prepared and ultra low quality food, maybe it's better to get it out of our systems as soon as possible. BTW: our check for two chili dogs, one order of something called "onion rings", and one small chocolate shake and one medium chocolate shake came to almost $22 Dollars. The counter help serves NOTHING. You place your order and it's thrust across the counter toward you when it's ready. But of course they were expecting to be tipped. For what I wondered? But tip I did. A couple of bucks out of pity for their working in such a place. Poor creatures. I hope they do not have to eat there as part of their compensation! In short, the place needs to be on your "DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU'RE STARVING" list. These people do not know what American Classic Cuisine should look like or should taste like. Everything they served us came out of a can or the freezer and they do not keep the fat in their fryers changed often enough to avoid imparting a definite rancid oil taste to anything that is immersed in it. If you have someone you truly dislike, send them to Lenny's Burger Shop! But for heaven's sake, do not take them there. You might be forced to eat some of their offerings yourself! read more

This is a recent former employee (27th and Indian School). This business does not even follow basic health code procedures like keeping sanitation wipes of the preparation stations between orders (let alone even preparing a simple set of sanitation rags. This was not even thought about by any other employee other than myself in the past 4-5 MONTHS since I started. It was always my first task to do when coming in at 6 PM.) I am the former kitchen MANAGER of Famous Sam's (Sierra Vista AZ.) Waddel's Longhorn Corral (Buckeye AZ.) And head cook of Wendy Jack's, and Wendy Jack's Hideaway (Avondale/Goodyear AZ.). And all of that was at least 10-15 years ago. I QUIT this particular establishment due to my own inability to comply with ORDERS FROM MANAGEMENT to do as I was told for the sake of SPEED and reducing my own hours. This place even wants its employees to clock out and keep working for free on busy nights when it takes longer to clean and close the kitchen than the ownership would like to pay for (can you say ILLEGAL?!?). And the ONE time I was asked to assist the 59th and Peoria location, I was absolutely disgusted. There was literally trash covering the whole floor 6 inches deep, an unbelievable amount of crud covering the preparation stations and.....NO DAMN SANITATION RAGS PREPPED ALL DAMN DAY. Basically....I got tired of management and every other shift putting off all of their prep and cleaning on the following shift, and then management bitching and threatening reprimand if it wasn't all done by the one shift with NO TIME to complete it.....Not to mention reprimand if it took too long to complete. I have NEVER in my life worked for such a cheapskate shithole unwilling to reward hard working employees with basic pay for wanting to make sure ALL required tasks were completed. Good thing I saved tons of photo and videos of what the kitchen looked like when I came in VS. when I left. This establishment desperately needs to replace its entire management staff. Sorry. I was a real cook in my 20s working for real establishments with real concern for food quality and food safety rules. That is why I excelled in those positions. Lenny's? They pegged me as a problem because I was getting mad about these very issues. I will wrap it up here. I am sure I have said enough. read more

So this is the second time I have walked there and they were not open at 7am. They have amazing breakfast burritos, which is why my coworkers and I walk there in the morning. Last time we waited a few moments for them to finish opening, no big deal. This time we stood outside for sometime waiting for them to open but saw no one in there. Finally we called to see what was going on and the employee was looking at us thru the window stating that for this week, they were opening at 9am. There was no signs posted anywhere alerting consumers of said change in schedule. I love their food but this inconsistency is not good for business. Was my first time coming here and my experience was okay. It's nice and clean, I have no complaints about the place or environment but my burger was not well done. I had asked too for it to be well cooked and the cashier even told me that they always cook all their burgers well done. But nope, they weren't. Not sure if it was just a bad day to go, if it was just mine and my girlfriend's burger or cooks were rushing and not cooking the meat thoroughly. The fries were really good ! The space is amazing with its open store front. high ceilings and decor (mostly shipped in from Ireland!) Check out the amazing bar in the Greene Room! The staff is a dream...especially the hottie bartender Mark from Cork, Ireland!!! Great food, great music, plenty of TVs and fun crowd. I highly recommend the everything crusted tuna and any of the pizzas. The burgers are great too. For now, I had to minus one star. When I was here last time, I saw that they served breakfast. I…read morecame back this morning around 6:15am and pulled up to the drive thru. For 3 minutes, no one came up to the speaker to take my order. I ended up driving off and getting breakfast at Filiberto's across the street instead. I know I'll definitely be back here for lunch since they're so close to my work. They didn't mess that up, so I can at least count on a decent lunch here. If I try for breakfast again, it will be a looooooooong while.
