I'd describe my experience at Lenny's as pretty average. I ordered the Garlic Mushroom Burger, which was decent but honestly reminded me quite a bit of Burger King in terms of flavor and quality. My friend had the Green Chile Burger and enjoyed hers more, so that might be the better play here. The fries were a bit of a mixed bag; they were pretty good, but extremely salty. I usually love salt, and even for me, it was a lot. We went through the drive-thru and the service was basic. Visited Lenny's due the inviting retro decor! That was very cool, bright and felt like an old diner. That is where the good news stopped. Based on reviews, there are some fans of Lenny's and I respect that. I can share with all honesty that the food is not good and also has low quality ingredients. The taste is not there and the food looked bad and tastes worse. We ordered, corn dogs, burgers, loaded tots, cheesy fries, fish and chips, fried zucchini and onion rings. The only item that was ok was the cheesy fries. The burger meat looked odd and it was grainy, fatty, dry and had a bad taste. Everything else was just fried frozen food. If it was very inexpensive, maybe? But, I would rather pay a fair price for a good meal. Never heard of this place, seen it down the street, wanted to try it. Really enjoy the 70's and 80's. Music playing, and the interior, but that was it. Ordered a cowboy burger, or whatever one comes with an onion ring on it, and a chili cheese dog. The chili cheese dog presentation wasn't much, but it did taste good. And the dogs are THICK! The burger was very sad. I might as well gone to MCD. The meat patty was so thin, you couldn't even taste the burger. The service was ok, but the cleanliness was bare minimum. There were maybe 3 tables being used, and 10+ tables available and all 10+ tables were filthy. There was enough staff to clean the tables, but they did not want to do it. Is it a 4 star place? In the category I am placing it, as far as drive through fast food joints go and todays experience? Yes, here's why... I had never heard of the place although based on the outside, I imagine it's been here for a long time. It looks vintage, enough so that I was wildly surprised there was a drive through. I was hungry and my friend was hungry and we were in one of those "I don't know what I want, what do you want?", "Idk what do you want"... if you follow my reviews you might know that I am a bit particular when I am in my nutritional flow and though I have fallen off a bit, I am trying to get back on, but I was hungry and on the road. Any staple fastfood chain is out of the picking for so many reasons. I read the sign aloud and friend was good with it. I wasn't sure I would find anything I would be willing to eat and whollymoly would you look at that?! They have Gardein? Garden? Gard.... whatever, the premade veggie burgers! Are they a fave? No, but what an incredibly amazing option. That's what I went for and the lady mentioned there was mayo, as if to know that many selecting a veggie burger may opt out of it. To me, that is being incredibly aware of your customers. I personally appreciate the tipping option when paying because for me, the information provided was worth gratitude, even if I am good with the mayo by the time I am grabbing a "burger" through a drive-thru. Tried again last night after working a double shift. i was tired and hungry 20 minute wait 2nd car in line. The wait times here are extensive even for short staffed fast food places. One time they forgot me all together. How does that happen? The order was simple and food delivered to me was raw and ice cold????? Do they precook food and let it sit there? Sick today. What happened to Lennys? They were always an above the usual fast food standard. Great food and okay wait times for fresh cooked. Today I sent the corp a letter and I never do that. I give this place a 4 because the food over all was ok burgers and fries. There is a lot of homeless people that come and go. The floors are dry as it needs to be swept and mopped. They normally keep it very cold in the lobby but today was very warm. The workers are very nice and you can see that they are working hard, always busy. There have been many Lenny's locations that have opened and closed through the years, but this the by far the best one they've ever had. It's very heavy on the 20th century diner vibes this time around. The 50s music was cranked UP. The seating looks totally retro. I think this is the first time I've seen them really care about the interior, and I'm here for it. They still have some of the most underrated burgers in town. The Mexican Burger is a bit sloppy, but you won't be able to resist it. My go-to when I roll through here is the BLT. It comes on a bun, which I usually wouldn't like, but this one is one of my faves, anywhere. Perfect ratio of ingredients. Bacon leaning on the crispy side. Portion is generous. Service is really good and I don't think it's taken them more than 10 minutes to get my lunch out. Lenny's really has an argument for best fast food in Phoenix. read more

As it was expected to be more than enough to eat, we decided to split an order of onion rings - also great. I have been to other Lenny's locations. They have been clean. The dining area is not very large by many fast-food locations, but they are quick on getting our food for pickup. My best friend is in town and we drove by this place and thought it was super cute so we decided to stop in and we were quite honestly appalled. While the vibes were awesome the service was subpar and so was the food. Aside from Lisa who was attentive and friendly the rest of the employees were rude and not helpful. We waited for Lisa to help us while three other employees stood in the back staring at us (minus the one who was sitting down on her phone the entire time). When our order came all three of our orders were messed up in one way or another and we had to send two items back...despite half of our order being cold we still ate it and dipped. This main course was followed by the chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream cone. I LOVED IT. This is the around the corner retro after school type diner that you and your friends went to for a good grilled burger or hotdog. If you're looking for fork and knife dining this is not your place.
