Standing over a grill in 117° Arizona heat, she greeted us with patience, kindness, and an actual smile. She let my son take his time ordering without making him feel rushed. And when the ketchup was empty, she didn't shrug it off or point us in another direction. She didn't hand me a thousand little packets since the pump was empty. She simply took care of it. Was it just ketchup? Sure. But it also wasn't. It was someone choosing to care. When other patrons had notified other staff multiple times it was out - Karen found a simple solution without excuses! These days... that feels rare. We've spent years turning the name "Karen" into a punchline. But today, I met the kind of Karen the world could use a whole lot more of. If you're her manager and you're reading this... take good care of her. Promote her. Clone her if science ever figures that out. We came here for national glizzy day and and it was busy. I had never been to Ted's so this was my first visit. We waited in line to to order and after waiting about 25 minutes, we were helped. The cashier was stressing but was friendly. We ordered three traditional hot dogs with everything on top and a side of bacon cheese fries. Since it was national glizzy day, our hot dogs were supposed to be BOGO. We sat down and waited another 25 minutes until finally our buzzer beeped. We picked up our tray and noticed we were only given 5 hot dogs, not 6. We didn't mention anything just because we saw how busy it still was. The hot dogs were actually pretty good. They were a decent size and flavorful. We really liked the bacon fries and it was enough to share between us three. There's a clear East Coast influence here, down to the details--like bottles of malt vinegar out for self-service, which is perfect over their fries, and Buffalo NY newspaper copies. And those fries are excellent on their own: thin-cut, crisped just right, with bits of potato skin mixed in for texture. The dog lineup is solid, with plenty of variety, but I usually stick with the all-beef frank. Everything's made to order, so there's typically a bit of a wait, but you get a buzzer so you can mind your own business while waiting. The space is a plus too, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. On my latest visit, a large group of bicyclists rolled in--some in full hot dog costumes, others in hot dog-print gear. They were all super friendly and cleaned up after themselves and it added to the whole experience. Came here a lot as a kid with my Dad. After my Dad passed away we would come every couple of years for his bday. Today 9/6. My Dads birthday. My sister and our families decided to come back to celebrate our Dad. Man how things have changed. My husband got the Chicago dog and we asked to make it a combo. The cashier told us they have to charge for jalapeños even though it is listed as an item on the Chicago dog. Wanted a side of onion rings and they were out. Half the sodas were out of order as well. Our food came and both my nieces orders were incorrect. My hot dog was lukewarm the cheese looked like a slice of cheese melted on the hotdog and like it had been sitting awhile. And the fries you can tell have been sitting. Needless to say. Definitely not how we remember it even from a few years ago. Came from west Phoenix to get a great hot dog. Little bit of a wait in line but it went pretty fast. Lots to choose from. Hot dogs, corn dog and even burgers. I love that you can split your fries and onion rings so I didn't have to make a choice. They have shakes too! I got the orange cream shake and it was all I'd hoped for. Everything was delicious and did not disappoint. Corn dog had a nice crunchy exterior. Works hot dogs have hot sauce , relish onions tomatoes and a good size pickle. So good! Shake was huge. I havent been here for over 20 years.. I came here once because my friend said they have the best hot dog. Met up with my friend for 2nd run. I know this place have been here for a while and they are known for their "griled" hot dogs.. Ordered two foot long with everything that comes on "free" added. Little over $15 for two hot dogs, I don't know I felt like it was bit pricey. Over all hot dog was pretty good. Been coming here for over 30 years and been to most of the ones in Buffalo. Have not been here in about a year. But used to come so much I'm surprised I'm writing this. This one seems to be more corporate run as of late. Only issue was bun was not warm and moist and the portion of the fries was smaller usual. And you switched to Pepsi really? Chicken Cheese Sandwich was tasty and the chicken cooked perfectly but way too much sauce on it. So much so that the chicken slid off the bun at every bite and made a huge mess. I stopped here for a quick to go lunch. The ordering at the counter was quick and fast. You walk up and they give you a pager after you tell them your order. I ordered fries and two hot dogs. They came out quick. I love that you get to customize how you want your hot dogs cooked such as well done. The hot dog and the fries came out hot and fresh. The fries were good and crispy with the right amount of salt. The hotdog was good but not great, there was a lack of flavor for the chili, just something missing to take it over the edge but it was good. The only issue was the meal costs $20 for two hotdogs and fries which seems very expensive. But all the best parts are still the same and boy are these some of the best hotdogs in the valley! I didn't go with anything fancy this time just three regular all beef hotdogs done with a variety of fixings, including Ted's special hot sauce. As with everything now, prices are a little more expensive, but still very affordable when you compare them to other spots in the valley. We've been coming here for years, and this is the first time we've had a disappointing experience. The wait for our food was much longer than usual, and by the time it was served, it wasn't as hot or fresh as we've come to expect. I believe the management may want to spend some time retraining the person working the grill. The previous grill cook was outstanding and knew how to stage the orders efficiently and kept everything moving while making sure the food came out hot and fresh. I'm sharing this review because we genuinely enjoy eating here and want to see the restaurant succeed. I hope management sees this feedback and addresses the issue. We'd much rather continue coming here than have to drive all the way to Chandler just to get our Ted's Hot Dogs fix. read more

The hot dogs were very good! They are cooked over charcoal and have a very nice flavor. We got a good mix of toppings on the hot dogs. The chili was delicious. I personally did not love the cheese, I thought it was too salty, but my partner really liked it! The potato salad tasted very fresh. The fried pickles were so good. It is the only one in AZ (I think the only location outside of New York) and they do a great job with grilled sausages. The plain hot dogs are just that. They're grilled over hardwood charcoal in front of you and you can add a wide array of toppings, some of which are free and others which are not. Besides the hot dogs, I like the white hot, "Schreiner's pork and veal white hot cooked over real hardwood charcoal served on a potato bun," with mustard and onions. Probably my German heritage.
