Lend A Box was the best part of our move. From the initial call, the employees all seemed to like what they're doing. The delivery was scheduled at a very convenient time for me and the drop off was very efficient. Again, the delivery person was very pleasant to deal with. The boxes are all in new or like new condition and were very helpful in prodding us to plan our move. The boxes are very sturdy and travel well. Two tips: 1) don't completely fill the boxes. they won't close. Leave 1/4 to 1/2 inch room. 2) label the sides of the boxes, otherwise you can't see what's in them if they're stacked. These boxes made moving extremely easy! I ordered the 1 bedroom and kitchen pack and it was more than enough for my things. They arrived in great condition, no need to clean out myself. I loved that the boxes were extremely sturdy. The kitchen kit ensured all my dishes, wine glasses, and more weren't damaged during the move. My movers also definitely appreciated that they didn't have to play much tetris when fitting the boxes into the van! And I loved that I knew exactly what was going into each box because they were all the same size! There was no sorting through weirdly sized boxes or bags to find the one thing I needed. I had a local move and didn't want to bother with cardboard boxes. Enter Lend A Box. Since my move was small, I opted to pick up the boxes because I didn't need enough to meet the delivery minimum. I only got 6 small boxes and 1 wardrobe - all were super clean and ready to use. The 6 small boxes fit perfectly in the back of my Subaru Outback without having to stack them. The small boxes are a good size, easy to carry, and stack nicely - no tape needed! I only got 6 because I'd pack & load, drive to my new place, unload & unpack, and repeat. The wardrobe box held a good amount of clothes, and was easy to use and also fit, fully loaded, in my Subaru with 3 of the small boxes. I returned them at the end of the week. It was easy to reserve the boxes. The staff are all super friendly and easy to work with. The only downside is that if you pick up the boxes, you have to drive to their location in Chantilly, which was a bit of a haul for me. It would be nice if they had additional pick up/drop off points. But I would definitely use them again as I had a super easy move. read more

What a great relief to be able to pack, and close with ease. Lend a Box is so much easier than using cardboard boxes. There is not taping shut boxes, or worry about getting rid of them when the move is over. Lend a Box delivers to your door, and picks up from your door. It's so simple and easy, I'll never do it another way. The customer service is outstanding, the employees super friendly and helpful. I moved a one-bedroom apartment to another one-bedroom apartment. Lots of books, and clothes. Used 20 large and 5 small. Worked like a charm. Might have used a few more if I hadn't a repurposed a bunch of old suitcases. Lend a Box also includes a wheeled sled to move them around, so when the movers brought them into the apartment, they simply wheeled them into the elevator 4 or 5 high and uploaded. So easy. We just wrapped up our rental period with Lend a Box and I cannot say enough good things about it. The crates are incredibly study, easy to stack, and they are immensely useful to both move using a truck or just haul the tiny leftover things from your old place in your car. The office was incredibly helpful when we needed to change our drop-off time, and even responded to an email and picked up the crates early. Lee, our delivery and pickup guy, is AMAZING and even played around with our very anxious dog for a bit. I thought it was a great concept - instead of flimsy cardboard boxes, heavy plastic boxes with a dolly. We were only moving a few townhomes down, so it was perfect. I am so happy I found this company!! One of the things I hate most about moving is how wasteful it feels with all the boxes and packaging, so I started to look into more eco-friendly options for my move and Lend A Box was the perfect option. My boxes were delivered right on time and the delivery driver was very polite and helpful. I decided against renting two wardrobe boxes and sent them back. Within two days I had the refund for these two items in my bank account. The moving package I chose had clean, sturdy containers to put my thing in and it was such a pleasure to not have to tape up cardboard boxes and hope they hold. Not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Using Lend a Box for your move is a no-brainer. The movers we used praised us for how organized and easy to move we were. I would even say that using Lend a Box cut down on the amount of time we had to pay the movers for since they were able to load everything so efficiently. I won't use Lend a Box again because they charge you more depending on the area you live in or will live in. On their website they state they service the DC metro area. My boxes were dropped off in NW DC and were to be picked up in SE DC. I was charged and 'out of area fee' for the pick up because it was a 'bad neighborhood.' If they were concerned about the safety of their employees they wouldn't charge an extra fee but instead not send their employees to the neighborhood at all. It's completely discriminatory. You can't charge people extra for a service because of where they live. I don't get charged extra from other companies like Fedex or UPS because of where I live, why is this local company doing that? They may be environmentally friendly but they're not ethical. read more

I used LendABox crates to help with a move from a 5 bedroom house into a 2 bedroom apartment. I kept the crates for 5 weeks marking them with the room they were to be delivered to as well as their contents. Rather than using cardboard boxes the filled crates are stackable and environmentally friendly in that they get reused. I got to give them back instead of having to find homes for hundreds of flattened cardboard boxes. The folks I worked with were great, flexible in able to meet my schedule but prompt in arriving to stop off our pick up. I strongly recommend them and would use them again. read more

Being able to stack all the boxes easily saved us lots of time and space, and it was great to have them picked up afterwards rather than having to breakdown tons of cardboard boxes. In the past, I've rented cardboard boxes (which is obviously better than having to scrounge for them or buy them) but renting these boxes isn't even in the same league. Lend a box is THE WAY to move. I heard about this company through my friend Lisa who tried it for the first time during her move. She said it was seamless and perfect and she was absolutely right. First, its the easiest thing to do. You go online, you pick your set of boxes that work for your apartment or home. You pay the fee which is so minimal and worth it not to have to collect or buy boxes, and its 100% worth it not to have packing tape! A few days before your scheduled delivery they email you with all of your details and confirm the delivery location. They are extremely communicative with delivery and pick-up. Lend a Box showed up exactly on-time. The gentlemen who came to deliver were so nice and friendly. The process to pack the bins was great. Each bin had a label and two zip ties. It couldn't have been better. The bins were perfectly clean, easy to use and stored SO MUCH STUFF. For pick-up they had the same process. They confirmed my pick-up, I gave them the details for my building and voila they were gone. I loved Lend a Box and while I hope not to move anytime soon, if I do, I am reserving my moving bins with them. Worth it, do it, they are awesome. read more

I LOVE Lend a Box! The crates are the perfect size for packing. Having everything in containers that are uniform in size really speeds up a move. Not only does it make it easier to load and unload the truck because they stack so neatly on dollies and in the truck, but packing them is easier. No messing with tape. No folding boxes. No worry about something getting crushed or broken. On the other side, there's the motivation of having to return the boxes to push the unpacking along. And the faster I'm unpacked, the more it feels like home. This move I unpacked completely in 3 1/2 days! So the disruption from the move was minimal. And talk about service...they bring the boxes to you on handy rolling dollies. They pick them up from you on the other side. No mess. No muss. No fuss. The easiest thing ever. And from the research I did, it cost me no more than buying boxes and tape would have cost. And I don't have to get rid of the cardboard! Love it. Love love love. I cannot recommend this company enough. Moving is chaotic and stressful, and Lend A Box (and Janice and Stephanie personally) seriously managed to make moving almost enjoyable! Using their service was the highlight of my move and I can't stop talking about how much I love them. I booked my reservation the DAY BEFORE I needed the boxes, they responded to my request immediately, and delivered the boxes one minute into my reservation time (delivered at 8:01am in an 8-9am timeframe) the very next morning. The boxes were sturdy enough to handle anything I threw at them, they were easy to move and stack and saved significant amounts of space inside the moving truck, and the labels and box ties were a dream for those of us who love organization amidst the chaos.
