So tonight I took my son to his first free monthly mini model build. We coordinated with three other families to meet and wait in line together, which helped to entertain my son since the wait was 1 1/2 hours long! For us, it worked out since my son was happily playing, the item was free, and we both had fun. For those looking to do a free mini build, bring snacks, smart phones, friends, etc for entertainment while in line. The staff was very, very friendly. The guy helping our group build our model was very good and patient. As usual, it shows that they hire people who love Legos. Overall another excellent experience. If the wait could be shorter, even better, but I understand that is out of their hands. read more

I've been working in Pleasanton for almost 3 years now and I just learned it had a Lego Store! As someone living in a 2 bedroom place with the second bedroom dedicated to Star Wars LEGO, I had to go during May the 4th, especially with the release of the Ultimate Collector Series Y-Wing, which is my favorite Rebel starfighter. So on Friday May the 4th I made my way to Stoneridge Mall. If this is your first time at Stoneridge, there are two levels, and most likely you'll walk in at the "top level." The Lego Store is on the bottom. I recommend you head in by the Forever 21/Burger place, walk to the escalator and will be right down there. The moment I entered I was greeted by one of the helpful staff, picking up the UCS Y-Wing, a Sandspeeder, and some build your own minifigures. They had a great selection, but I wanted to get out of there for less than $300. Had a fun conversation with a few of the staff, including the young woman who helped me. Oh lordy lord! My sons are in heaven everytime we walk through those doors. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. Our favorite sales person is Natali. She is always so sweet and greets us and ask us how we are doing every time. Sign up for a VIP membership and enjoy members only perks. We come here very often and we browse some times and we buy some of the times. We are never pressured to by anything. This store is the most unprofessional and mismanaged store I've ever shopped at. The manager there, Ashan, is inexperienced and lacks customer service sensitivity. He was extremely condescending, passive aggressive with his approach, and unapologetic with his rude behavior. Concerns have been escalated and formal complaints have been put in place. They welcome us with smiles, and always makes sure that we find what we need. Man are they high-pressure here! You are greeted and followed around from the time you enter and they keep "checking-in" on you. As a parent I don't appreciate them asking "Who's getting a Lego set today?" It's like asking a kid if they are allowed to have some candy. DD's enjoyed playing at the table and getting creative as well as browsing around while Dad was at the Apple store, but I think I'll stick to Pottery Barn Kids when we have a few minutes to kill from now on where they let you browse and play in peace. read more

Came here this weekend and had a blast. Mathew was so friendly and knowledgeable. I had no idea just how much there is to lego.... Okay that's a lie. I know a bit about Lego. I'm 27, and yep still buy Lego. Buying Lego as an adult is so much better than when you were a kid. You can blow like $300 on a set and not think twice about it, and they are oh so fun to assemble. My fav thing to do is put on a long podcast, get a bottle of pear brandy, and slowly build the night away. It is also a great group activity. The Lego store is the best place to buy lego. The back wall has individual pieces they sell by the container. For $15.95 I just got enough diamonds to build a Lego version of the movie Blood Diamond! Seriously THOUSANDS of diamonds! It is such a good deal. They also have limited edition sets (like the Simpsons I bought today) and you get Lego points. Yeah, it truly is...and cool for all ages. Each area is organized by age and highlights transitional items for the next age category or challenge level. Duplo crossovers into simple builders and unusual products on one side of store. The advanced and super-amazing sets on the other side. Every possible sorting and building accessory and every other cool thing you see on the LEGO website fills the store as well. Mini-figures galore. Many of the items are LEGO store only. Look, it's a Lego store. You should know that it's five stars just from the name. Anyway, it was awesome seeing a bunch of kids actively playing with the open kits and having that freedom. It's in a mall, so it's not like it's a huge warehouse or anything, but the selection was decent. The architectural series was a little sparse (no Falling Water :( ), but not terrible, and totally understandable given the space constraints. The people working were largely just observing the controlled chaos, but were pleasant and helpful when it came time to checkout. My wife would probably want me to at least mention that out of all the Star Wars keychains they had, they didn't have R2D2. This made her sad, but you can only be so sad in a Lego store. read more

My kids love Lego, and this is our go-to place for birthdays and Christmas gifts. It does get pretty busy here, but the staff remains friendly, and the store is most often clean. There's some elbowing around for a spot on the play table, but for the most part, everyone gets to play. Biggest problem is that we rarely go out without a bag! This place is usually packed full of kids and adults with worried looks, and of course, the Stoneridge mall isn't always a great, but your kids will still love you if you bring them here for a visit. People say Lego's expensive. But I dare you to find another toy that lasts 30 years or more. That makes it cheap. read more

The Lego store is such incredible fun no matter what age you are. I love checking out all the new kits and oohing and aaahing over all the cool new stuff. The selection here is great for the size of the store. There is everything from beginner Duplo blocks to Lego kits teaching architecture and design lessons. Not sure what to give someone as a gift? Seriously people from like 4 years old to 90 years old can love Legos, and there are kits for all skill levels. One of the great things about coming here versus picking up Legos at another toy store are the mix and match cups you can fill with Legos at the back wall. Small cups are $7.99 and large cups are $14.99. They are also a fun challenge in packing as much as you can into a predetermined space to maximize the value for your dollar. (Pro Tip: Snap bricks together to tall pieces that are nearly the height of your cup & add small pieces last, shaking to get them to settle in the spaces between your bricks.) The only negative here is that the table set up to play and experiment with Legos in store was in disrepair with building bases broken or missing. read more

This is a great Lego company store. They have a massive selection of most if not all of Lego's theme genres, amazing Lego displays, and many brick building and choosing opportunities. Nice customer service and friendly people in general. I would suggest this store to anyone who's looking for a great set or just wants to explore the world of Lego. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 4 is due to the fact that their pick a brick selection is quite poor. Always top notch service and they usually have Lego's that are popular. They'll ship to your house for free if they don't. I do miss how they used to help you find the minifigure you want.
