They have toys from the past to present it makes you feel like a kid. The price me that have is not outrageous like some competition that mark up toys. They have JellyCats to Legos and tons of squishies. My kid lives this store and always wants to come back here. The service is great and very intimate. The people are great and love to answer questions and make great recommendations for gifts. If you are looking for toys or gifts Five Little Monkeys is the place to go. Adorable shop with so many items for kids of all ages. Its bigger than you'd think from the outside. They have a play area in the back with a train table and the famous play room from good night moon. They also have a large book selection throughout the store. The employees were so nice! A bit expensive but it's really good and worth it. When we took our drinks inside the cashier held it for us! I didn't see the no outside drinks sign until after we were leaving lol. I highly recommend going here for birthdays, and Christmas. It was my first time being there too, best first impression I've had. Never been to a place like this before. It's nostalgic. This place needs more attention. This place will take you back to your younger years as you walk among walls and walls of toys, board games, and collectibles. Each section is well-organized according to theme and age, so you will easily find something for your little ones (or yourself). They have a great collection of modern and classic toys and games, and their competitive prices (compared to other stores, even online) will give you confidence in making your purchase right there and then. There is just something different about being able to hold and play with your toy before you buy it. They have a play area for trains and make-believe towards the back and I am sure your kids will have a blast perusing through the shelves as well. Before you know it, an hour has passed and they still haven't decided on the one thing they want to get. Perhaps a good time to start building a list for Santa! Some key highlights for the store would have to be the "Goodnight Moon" corner and for me, the Lego and board game sections. Definitely take a look and check out the little stands scattered around the store - you may be surprised what little knick-knacks and treasures you might find. Parking can be sparse but there are a few public lots in the area and street parking is quite accessible. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well so it may be fun to incorporate a little toy store shopping before or after your meal. The only concern I have was their moderate customer service. There were a few times it felt like I was being followed but there was no introduction or interaction from the staff. I didn't feel like it was very inviting, however, it was also during the holidays so perhaps the chaos may have made an impact. Overall, this is one of the last standing physical toy stores around and it seems to be staying present in their offerings and competitive in their pricing. The store is clean, well-organized and stocked, but you may want to set expectations low for the helpfulness of the staff. Cute toy store. Reminds me of lakeshore learning but I believe it's a private owned business. Came in here a couple of times with my son and he always finds something. He loves the a collectible animals. Service is just okay here. They don't really ask if you need help, etc. but I haven't had any questions so not sure how good of a service would be then. Today after following their instagram page all day, I decided to call just to see when their next needoh drop would be. they told me they had received some today, but they had already sold out. It is so nice to find a toy store that carries quality toys. They have a great selection and toys you can't find in other stores. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store is clean and bright. The toys are easy to see and organized in sections by types. I previously bought a sand pail and shovel set. It is a good quality plastic and was not made in China. They have a great selection of high quality puzzles. We bought a baby doll, horses, a lava lamp and activity kit for our grandchildren. I am very excited to see how they like them. We were so sad when the Walnut Creek location closed. To our chagrin, there is a Five Little Monkeys store in Downtown Pleasanton. We walk into the store, which is a mini wonderland all on its own, and the kids are super happy. At the back corner of the store, there is a little model room from the book Goodnight Moon. It is totally adorable! My toddler ran to it and tried to tuck himself in it. True to Five Little Monkeys' fashion, they offer quality, on-trend, classic, and relevant toys for purchase. All the kids are happy because we will give them a price limit, and if they find something they love within that limit, they can take it home with us. We had the pleasure of speaking to one of the new employees about the Open Squish project. In this project, consumers can vote on cute designs, and the Squishable company will fund and build the design that gets the most votes. Right now, I'm totally in love with those! read more

We were looking for a toy store to give my kid an experience of picking toys that Amazon (and the box waste) doesn't help so started looking on Yelp and found this new store that opened a month ago! This is a fantastic place with huge collection and on top of it some space for little ones to play. They have toys in all range, price, size and a collection of books. The staff is friendly and love to entertain the kids. What was a surprise, since I was looking for these toddler shopping carts everywhere, this place has few of them!! I LOVE that.. it gives the kids born in the pandemic a chance to explore and be independent in shopping stores. Some stores had that but after COVID decided to remove that part and I was really happy to see it here. They also did a fun opening in the downtown with bubbles, books, painting, music, free goodies. I loved the Five Little Monkeys in Walnut Creek so I was thrilled to see their new location in Pleasanton. It wasn't too bad finding street parking downtown on a weekday afternoon. Staff members are very friendly and greet you right away. I love the Goodnight Moon play area in the back. The store is organized by different categories (puzzles, dinosaurs, books, etc) which makes it convenient to search for specific items. I ended up finding some presents quickly and they offer complimentary gift wrapping. They don't provide gift receipts to save on paper. Instead, they white out the price on the sticker and recipients can bring gifts back as long as it still has the barcode sticker on it. Looking forward to coming back soon. read more

Even as an adult I love toy stores and I love the feel of mom and pop style stores. Five Little Monkeys is a cute place on Main Street and even though it's a mom and pop store, the store is actually larger than you'd expect and they've got quite a selection of toys! One thing unique about this place is how they organize their toys. Instead of "Lego", "puzzle", or "game" sections, they arrange things by theme- for example "outer space", "dolls/dress up", "construction toys", "science", etc. So if you're looking for different Lego sets for example, you'd find Lego sets spread throughout the store in their respective theme. It's also nice to see they can wrap your gifts after purchase in the store! A fun store to visit for sure! read more

Very cute toy store. My kids loves it. It's conveniently located in downtown Pleasanton. They have everything from water toys, bubbles, brio train sets, hot wheels, legos, Montessori toys, and even a Good Night Moon little play area. The prices are a little high compared to target and Amazon. Some items can be up to $30 more expensive here vs Amazon (Brio train sets). Of course I want to support small businesses but I still find myself "amazoning" prices before I make a purchase. The extra $5 to $10 can add up fast. Just something to keep in mind. read more

I usually never leave reviews for anything but I knew I had to warn people about this store. I went in the store and immediately knew something was off. I was with a few of my friends who are white and the lady working there (she had sliver hair), was glaring at me from the moment I walked in. She was following me around the store acting like I had stolen from her. I was receiving multiple hostile looks. My friends who were with me noticed how I was treated and we left without buying anything because we knew we could not support a business who doesn't treat everyone equally. I had a drink with me and didn't know I wasn't allowed to have food or drinks. The same lady informed in a very rude I apologized and set my drink outside. Normally I wouldn't have taken this so seriously however when multiple white people walked in most of which drinking and eating she turned away and didn't tell them anything. My suggestion for you is if you are running a business don't be racist because you will receive multiple costumers that are of color. read more

I have been going to this store often since it's in my hometown and I never had any issues with this place until today. Afterschool, I went here with my friends for fun and we were looking at items and a worker approached us asking if we need help and I asked how much an item was. Then a worker stopped and asked "Are you(my name)?" I said yes that's me and I was so confused. Then she told me that I was the one that stole sonny angels from the store. I was really confused since I had NEVER stole from this store first of all. She told me that she has proof of me and my ex going into the store and said that I have stuffed items in his backpack and left. This was over a year ago so I obviously don't remember clear details however, I just know I never stole. I could've been debating how many blind boxes to buy and left the rest at another spot? I asked the worker for proof since I was really shocked and I have never experienced this before. She was looking for the proof but it took too long so I tried my best to explain my innocence. Since it took too long, she called her co-worker and asked if she has the proof. However, she couldn't find it either so she kindly told us that since it was a while ago we can leave the store and that she apologizes for the worker being aggressive. I felt like this was so unfair since I clearly showed her my transaction from last year of me purchasing an item at this place that day. She said I bought the item but I also stole multiple things as well. I feel like she could've mistaken me as someone else(?) She said there were these 2 girls who showed her my post of the things I bought from this store. I figured out who those girls were and they told me the same worker was talking about a couple that stole from the store so the girls said they were joking around and asked the worker if it was me and my ex and she said it was us. So I told the 2 girls about today's situation and asked for details. They told me that they barely even showed the worker photos of what I look like and that she just assumed it was me and my ex who stole. I felt very disappointed for being accused about something I didn't do with no proof. My friends were also with me and they also thought it was strange of her and that she was very disrespectful to us and aggressive. She is the one that accused me of an action I never did but she seemed stressed herself and told us to leave. My friends also felt disrespected by her actions and I just think that this action was unfair. read more

Such a cute and unique toy store. I got tired of going to Target to buy gifts and seeing the same things over and over. You know what I mean when you have a birthday party to go to every week. So happy that this place is in town and tried it out. It is such a well thought out store and organized to make it easy. The hard part is deciding what to get because they have such an amazing variety of items that you can't find at a regular big box store. I like that they have STEM items and ones that inspire creativity. Pro-tips: They wrap your items for you if you need. They had a cute Northpole/Santa's mailbox during the holidays that kids can put their Santa letters. If you or your kids love Goodnight Moon, go see what they have in the back. Service can be hit or miss, so sometimes have to grab someone's attention. Could be a little friendlier at times depending on who's working.
