Came here for the first time for a One Piece open release event and i really liked it! I don't remember the employees name but he was very kind and made sure all the players were comfortable and properly informed of the rules. Also the place smelled good lol which is surprising for card shops and pretty clean. They had a broad selection of cards and board games also. Prices were very reasonable and this place has a really great atmosphere. Definitely coming back here to play some one piece! read more

I actually do enjoy going here for the things i need mtg related but the one thing that always gives me a bad taste in my mouth is when that one guy is working and he's the only person who's name i don't know for good reason, I HATE him. Nikko's an absolutely wonderful person to interact with and gives me a great experience every time I come in, and Kellan ( the owner) is similar to the guy I hate but tolerable to interact with so that just leaves one person. Each time i'm here he's rude like i did something personally to upset him and all i do is let him know that my list is ready like we're told to and he treats me like i'm the rude one being inconsiderate and let it be known that the times i have patiently waited to tell him my list is ready he rudely tells me to interrupt him etc. etc. the almighty laptop this or that so to that i have no idea what the efffffff this guys problem is. What drew the line with me and ultimately made me decide to write this review is when i last came in for a couple cards. We do the dance "ok i'll get to it when i get to it" cool so i wait, now normally the second i see him i've come to just decide to leave and wait for a txt from them to come in but i absolutely could not do that this time. Idk what his deal is i just know you're going to WAIT. I get that hey, you have lists that need to be pulled there's a line yada yada i get it but the last couple times i've been there he just talks and talks and talks until Nikko comes in and then come to find out that literally it was just my list that he needed to get to. WTF. And my last experience with this guy was no different i waited in the store cause i had no other choice. Got there at 5 and left Galaxy Games at 6:30 effing waiting listening to this guy just talk and talk and you guessed it talk some more. I've been there before you know, shift's about to end i'll leave the last of my work to the next guy, terrible habit but i've done it. But literally sitting on a list of cards you can count with one hand for an hour and a half is completely left field and i hope you wake up one day soon with the rest of your hair gone. I was looking for bulk Pokémon cards, specifically the 151 set. They didn't have any, which made me sad. So I ended up looking at the Mega Evolution bulk instead. The guy at the counter was really nice and told me to take the bulk and take my time looking at it. I bought a massive stack of cards I needed for my collection, which was around $40. Fair prices. The cashier told me that their bulk cards are SORTED by set/color/Pokémon, which I GREATLY appreciate, versus being thrown in a box and calling it a day. Most shops don't do that. The shop was very busy for a Sunday night. It got pretty loud and regretted not bringing my headphones. I will definitely be back if I need to purchase more cards! read more

I've only ever seen 3 people and interacted with 2. Nico or Nikko was awesome when I came in. Very considerate when I asked about how selling works for them and just good customer service. He was patient even when it was busy that day. The one with the red beard, I've never interacted with. Today, I was speaking to someone around 1:30 pm. Guy had a backwards hat. Worst customer service. I was excited to come in to talk about selling bulks and understanding how the process works, but he was stand-offish and responded in a very rude manner. If the store has certain policies, I'm open to understanding it and it can be done without the guy being rude about it. He can learn something from Nico or Nikko about customer service. The store would 100% do better without him. I thought I found a spot that I would regularly go to, but he would make anyone's experience awful. Judging from past reviews, seems like he is a repeated offender. Very disappointing. read more

walked in on a slow day. Literally 2 or 3 others in the store. Zero customer service. Mainly MTG for TCG but maybe thats because its hard to stock OP, Riftbound, Pokemon, ok fine. Lots of MTG singles. Not much else. Dark, dingey, clique-y vibes. Maybe good for others. Definitely not me. More of a place for owner(s) and friends to hang out and subsidize their hobby. Not a lot of card game shops that have a lot of options and products that you would want for some card games like mtg so when I walked in I was ecstatic! One of the few card game shops that has a catalog of all available singles to buy! Walked in and got everything I needed, but also walked out learning more about things from people who were willing to teach and very inviting to their community. Do recommend! read more

I loved the board game selection that this store had to offer, and there were lots of people board-gaming when we visited this location, so it was really nice to see that. We also saw a whole wall full of board games for demo purposes - I am summing these games were available to those board-gaming there. Went in with my kids the morning of sept 7, 2025. Yelp says the store opens at noon, the sign on the door says 1pm. The door was open so we walked in and said hello. The guy with the grey shirt and the black hat was extremely irritated that we were there and reluctantly allowed us to stay. Then whem asked about magic cards for the kids he says "i dont know i dont play magic, go look on the computer". Being new to the store i have no clue what computer or what hes talking about. Then i ask him about lands for magic because my son needed some. Again without saying a word he points to a computer. Then he says "i dont know anything about mtg, i just work here you gotta find it on the computer". I went to the computer and entered in what i was looking for. Then went to look at booster packs for my kids, picked three, and went to purchase them. While at the register i told him i put in an order on the computer. This is what he tells me in an irate voice: "man you gotta tell me when you put an order in because theres no way of me knowing. Im working here alome and usually for the first hour we dont even take comouter orders because im too busy doing other stuff. Now the order mightve deleted itself because you didnt tell me." This is how he responded to me attempting to purchase something from the store. Keep in mind this person was sitting on his behind having a personal phone call before this occured. Hes extremely lucky i was with my kids and refrained from telling him off right there. And now for the worst part. Since I was with my kids I just wanted them to have a good time and explore a new card store that they hadn't been to yet so I didn't make a big deal about it. They opened their booster packs pulled some fun cards and played some magic the Gathering with each other. Some other young man walked into the store set his bags down and wanted to play Magic the Gathering as well. He also bought booster packs several of them and was subjected to the same irate service that we were subjected to. Then this young man goes to look at the cards behind one of the cases and in doing so leaned against a shelf that was protruding from the register and knocked it over and he fell to the ground. Rather then helping him up, this person working there begins to shout at him and chastise him as if he was his dad. Blaming him and telling him that now he had to fix this thing and that he shouldn't touch anything else because he might break it. Keep in mind this wasn't a joke, he was reprimanding him and you can tell the young man was uncomfortable. It took everything in me not to get up and tell this guy off for the way he was treating people in his store. If he had any kind of business sense he'd be aware that if this young man hurt himself he could sue the store to oblivion. I really hope the owner of this store, Kellen, from what I've researched, sees this and fires this guy from the store. We won't come back because of this and I hope other people take the same route. I won't use vulgar language in this review but whoever opened the store yesterday, September 7th, 2025 you do not need to be doing customer service. Youd probably be better off as a janitor somewhere or a job that doesn't involve interacting with people. One star is too many for this store. On a good note my daughter pulled a very nice card from her booster pack and because I was able to play it off they had a great time. To the young man who was there sitting next to us and had to experience this customer service, sorry man that really sucks, but thank you for being so nice to my kids and giving them a card. There really aren't any other options for a well stocked and organized location to pick up magic singles in the Bay Area. They handled my order quickly and had great alt art choices. Their stock isn't exhaustive but of the 40 singles of various prices I wanted to pick up they had most of them in stock. If you are looking for mtg singles and are tired of ordering online or just want to support a local business this is the place to go. I drove out here from Oakland and plan to do so again in the future. read more

Awful experience at this store. I walk in, employee at the counter is talking with two other customers, no greeting, no help was offered. I asked a question about product and the employee gave me a cold "no we don't carry that" and that was that. Their prices are considerably higher than my favorite shops & the staff member seemed more interested in his conversation than in running a business. Really fun and friendly place to buy Pokemon. Also they have a good board game selection as well. Lots of SmashUp boxes and expansions. They also had a nice selection of individual Pokemon cards. They had a program where you could roll a 20 sided die for a percent discount when you buy more than $25 in Pokemon cards. We were lucky and rolled 19% so got almost the largest discount possible. The kids had a lot of fun with that and I think that's a great way to incorporate game mechanics into your store. read more

This should be a 5 star review but it gets knocked by one employee, Steve. Steve is the worst representative of this shop. He's rude and imposing to all customers that walk in. He's not helpful and constantly makes customer feel unwelcome. This is not a one time occurrence. My 10+ friends and I constantly go to this shop and we all feel the same way. He's truly an asshole and scum of the earth. Please get rid of this guy as he's a determinate to business. The rest of the shop is a 10/10 with selection and pricing. place is cool, staff is friendly, and so are the rest of the folks there. however, sometimes I can't stand the smell inside here. it smells like BO and it just fills the whole building--there's been a few instances where I had to leave because I've felt nauseated. not trying to tarnish the whole vibe of the store because what they offer is awesome and the cards they have for their prices are great. Kept on trying to point me at the labtop so he could continue his personal conversation with someone who was not going to spend money. I am all about supporting the Local Game Stores for my hobbies. But, I would not recommend this store if you're looking to just buy some card singles and leave. You can see their prices online but it does not match what they charge in the store. You can not place orders online you have to place them through the one computer they have at the store. The worker behind the register will not start an order unless you place it on the machine. Even if you are ready to purchase the singles, and the clerk is free, you can not tell the clerk what you want. He will tell you to wait for the machine. There's always one person slowly browsing the databases, taking their time checking a long list of card prices. And there will be people in line behind that person. Be prepared to wait 30-40 minutes on any given day just to pick up a few singles. Because there is always at least one guy who is always monopolizing the machine, taking all the time in the world. As such, trips here are no longer worth it for me to stop by and grab a few cards. After all, a business that sets up a purchasing infrastructure designed to bottleneck from every window shopper who wants to browse the company catalog reflects that they do not value your time. So buy online instead. The prices that you see are what you actually get, and you can find a cheaper deal and have the cards delivered to your door. read more

No my guy, I CANNOT see inside of all the boxes that are very obviously empty to the person who IS capable of peering inside because they are closer. Or perhaps my vision isn't great. Or perhaps another reason. Either way, this one employee in particular (based on previous reviews maybe Steve? Unsure) has one of the worst attitudes that I've come across. By far. I'm sorry that not even cardboard full of fun can bring you happiness. I hope that something changes in your life so the rest of us don't have to deal with your generally negative disposition. Let's try this "hey so we only have these packs available" or something along those lines. You can even just point to/tap at boxes if listing them feels too wordy. Not hard. Also, "please" "thank you" "have a good day". 7 words that go a long way. 7 isn't too much effort. Not even double digits of words that I promise won't pain you to use, despite how you may feel. The rest of the employees and the dog are great, though. I find that their card system is actually really convenient. Easy for the customer to find what they're looking for and probably makes a world of a difference for the employees. read more

I stopped by here for the first time about a week ago and it seems like a great shop. As pictured, they have plenty of room for games on their tables (I am not sure how often they fill up). They sell lots of table-top games and specialize in Magic: The Gathering. My brother picked up the core set of X-Wing Miniatures and I grabbed a few MTG booster. The guys were kind and I'd be happy to stop by again next time Im in Dublin. They are located in a plaza with a brunch spot and a few other nice shops. read more

TLDR: Most welcome LGS ever, super LGBTQIA+ & beginner friendly. Also very good pricing! This is literally the most welcome card shop I've ever been to. I am pretty new to magic and people were being so kind and walking me through how the game works and being so encouraging. I just moved to the area and have not been able to unpack my Magic decks yet, so I wasn't even planning on playing, but EVERYONE was offering me their decks to play (even REALLY expensive ones) without a second thought. Before I knew it I had a deck, a playmat, and dice I was allowed to borrow while playing. I struggle with anxiety and trying new shops is EXTREMELY hard for me, but everyone was so encouraging, that I felt safe to stay. Literally everyone I talked to in the store asked me my pronouns too!!! People even offered to buy me food and drinks, I haven't even known them for an hour yet. I even left with cards and didn't spend a penny, because people like to leave cards with other people when they aren't looking as a "ha gotcha!" I only bought one card, but from looking at all their card packs their pricing was also decent! I was also flabbergasted at their organization of the cards, most LGS I go to have HORRID organization, they found the niche card I needed in an INSTANT! I will definitely be becoming a regular of this store, this whole experience has made my move to the area so much better, I can't wait to make so many new friends. read more

This place is amazing ! So happy to see there is a store that sells and trades olds school games like Nintendo , sega , Super Nintendo , playstation , n64. I haven't seen any store that carries the old games any more !! I know there is GameStop but they don't Carrie Nintendo , Super Nintendo and n64 games , and if they did they probably wouldn't be as keep as this store has them labeled!! Came by today to see if I could trade some old cards I owned for possible a old school game to add to the collection . I had these old cards I had no use for anymore and would rather have Mario game I could add to the collection and possible play some time with friends then keep cards I have no use for .. I happened to find a game called Mario all stars for Super Nintendo ! So I scored the owner was there and he said we would give me credit for some of my cards so i gave him all my cards for this game ! He was a friendly nice guy , I would definitely come back latter if I was to look for an old school game or if I wanted to buy a classic game for a friend !! There is a vibrant Magic community here. They have modern, standard, legacy, vintage, commander, and limited events. Small variety of singles available for sale as well as sleeves and assorted paraphernalia. Nothing special, though. I didn't think the store owner was particularly friendly. Neither was the judge. The draft starts at 6:00pm on Fridays. Draft pods were irregularly shaped. Pairings were randomized throughout entire store, which leads to some pods being naturally stronger than others. If you were drafted into a weaker pod, you don't really stand a chance of making any prize support. But there is a lot of space and it was warm but not too hot, just based on body heat. This is a decent place for MTG players. People were generally friendly. read more

Nice little game shop. Lots of MTG cards and "vintage" video games. I say vintage because a 5 year old game is vintage. In that scheme of time, these are seriously vintage. Most of the space is taken up by tables set up for gaming. Gaming is not my scene but I love how these gaming shops provide a social opportunity for nerds and geeks to play great games together instead of playing in isolation on-line. I was selling my husband's MTG collection for him. Owner was great! Super-nice guy. Whole transaction took literally 15 minutes. It helped that we sorted our cards first and came in with some idea of what they were worth. I'm sure we could have made more on Ebay but the savings in time and effort were worth it. read more

Two months ago, my coworkers, my wife and I began playing MTG. What an addicting game it is. We play casual style, where anything goes. With that said, the eight of us have been searching the bay area from as far north as Concord/Martinez, as far West as San Francisco and as far South as Fremont for the best MTG store. Having been to all these stores, nobody comes close to Galaxy Games when it comes to MTG. The selection is nothing short of AMAZING. A true deck builders workshop. The singles are organized by color, alphabetically. "No Other Store I've been to does that." It makes all the difference in the world. And if that didn't make things convenient enough, I hear they plan to organize them even further by separating them according to series in addition to color and alphabetically. There are literally thousands of singles to thumb through, possibly tens of thousands. They also have rares and mythically rare cards organized separately in different boxes. I spent 4 hours going through their selection of rare blacks on my last visit.. Tim, the owner, is a clean, warm and friendly person and is very knowledgeable about the game. I had the chance to meet his night manager as well, wish I remembered his name, also a very cordial and knowledgeable person. With all that said, I nominate Galaxy games as the best MTG store in the Bay. Some of the other stores have great managers/owners and are a nice place to hang out. But, if your serious about deck building, Galaxy Games in Dublin is where you want to go. read more

I'm relatively new to the world of MTG, I was dragged into it by my husband and coworkers a few months back. Since then, we have been to one shop or another several times a week trying to find the best shop and build the best deck. We've stopped looking. We've been all over the bay area and Galaxy games has the best selection, comfortable atmosphere (you can roll the cushioned chairs right up to the wall of alphabetized, color coded singles and search until your hearts content). Although I'm addicted I have found myself getting impatient at other stores because of lack of space or lack or ease to search or people crowding me in; THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE! I spent over 4 hours searching cards and could have stayed longer if I didn't have other obligations (being a parent and all). I even brought the kids one time while I searched and they sat at one of the many tables and entertained themselves. This store has beverages and a few snacks for sale (so your blood sugar doesn't get low during your hunt). Their prices are comparable if not better than several other stores I've been to. The pro series sleeves I bought here were $1 lower than my local store. This store is WORTH the 1/2 hour drive for me... and that's saying something! Tim (the owner) is knowledgeable and awesome! He was willing to chat about life, the games or even give pointers on how to better play cards we had selected. The Manager is amazing as well. He was very patient with us on our first visit, we bothered him quite a bit (in addition to the birthday party he had going in the back as well as the other customers). And one last tidbit... coming from a female (sorry guys) this place was clean (restrooms included) and not creepy, considering some of the places I've been too where patrons freak out if a female walks in. Again, NOT THIS PLACE. I recommend Galaxy games to EVERYONE even though I really wanted to keep it as a secret at first. It's just too good not to share! THANKS FOR BEING SO GREAT! read more

I attend Friday Night Magic at this store every week I can for a reason. The store is well organized, well staffed, and more than equipped for the rapidly growing Magic scene. Players and staff are welcoming to players of all skill levels and make for an amazing place to learn and make likeminded friends. Prices on Magic product and prize support from events at this store are the best I've seen in a long time and it's shown by the growing Magic community there. No matter what formats you play or skill level you are I would recommend this store. Multiple judges are frequent players so events are fair and it makes for a fun environment to play and learn in. read more
