This is about as good as it gets for hobby shops if your interests are in radio controlled (RC) cars, trucks, boats, planes/helis and trading card games (TCG). I can't say much for TCGs, but every time I'm in the shop, there is always some activity with trading/selling or games being played on the handful of tables set up in the shop. My son and I have been RC customers here for nearly a year and the owner (Michael) and crew are friendly and willing. There is a good selection of popular ARRMA, Losi, Axial and Traxxas vehicles and just about every single new release is in the shop within a few days. There is a curated collection of popular race vehicles behind the counter as well as Kyosho Mini-Z and handful of more specialized brands that only enthusiast hobbyist would even know about like Xpress, MST, and Corally to name a few. There is a small selection of planes and helicopters, and I've been able to have the shop order kits that are more obscure and have it be available within a week or so. I've found the prices to be the same as what is advertised on larger online retailers like Horizon Hobby, A-Main, or Tower Hobbies; Hobby Addicts does have a loyalty program, so I do appreciate that the business understands your patronage is important to them. More importantly, every dollar spent at a local business ends up within the community, so come on out and support your local hobby shop! read more

Management's approach to community guidelines and account access is very strict, with limited apparent opportunity to resolve misunderstandings before permanent bans are enforced across both online and in-store channels. Customers should be aware that support decisions appear final. Customer support for the less favored should be provided, as it is not. No chances of reconciliation.The situations are handled poorly and owner only listens to the opposite pov side. Personally, the owner needs better people skills and communication skills. This behavior wouldn't fly in a corporate environment but since it's a small business he can do whatever he wants. With that being said, the Pokémon community is extremely Toxic and clique. It's not how it was 20 years ago. Also, prices arent that great as they are little over retail price. I recommend going to a shop that's more friendly. This place is cool, tucked away, but still felt that there was a large enough quantity and quality of cards at RC cars that you could be spending quite some time and money there. Cool little small hobby shop in a quiet little plaza. We found this place a while back while visiting Livermore for the weekend. We ended up loving it and go often for our hobby needs. This shop is awesome! It's the place to go if your hobbies include RC cars, model kits, paints, etc. They also have a good selection of TCGs, including some of the harder to find ones like Flesh and Blood . Michael is friendly and knowledgeable. We found the prices to be reasonable and fair for what we were buying, and would happily keep coming back for more. This shop is 1000% the best hobby shop in the Tri-Valley/East Bay area. They have a pretty massive selection of RC vehicles, tons of TCGs like Pokemon, One Piece, Gundam, and Magic. Dont think they have sports but dont quote me there. They even have singles for purchase or trade. I've been to Phantomich, KingKong, Trader J's and a few others around North, South and Eastbay... respectfully, no, they dont compare. What you'll get here is awesome friendly, knowledgeable service and a great selection of stuff to choose from. They host various TCG events and RC stuff too I think, so check out their website/Instagram for more info. Trust me when I say that the other places are not friendly, barely acknowledge you're walking into their store even if not busy, and have 1 dimensional offerings. Hobby Addicts is a great place to go as an adult collector/player and THE best place if you have kids that enjoy these hobbies. FYI, they do have highly sought after products/releases and some are above MSRP, but in many cases, well below Market (checking against ebay/TCG/Facebook marketplace) and ridiculous scalper prices and super super competitive with some of the other decent collector stores in the Bay area. But if you're in the Tri-Valley area this is absolutely the best option. read more

My go to shop for trading cards! The owner Michael is down to earth and nonchalant. While his wife is energetic. Both makes the shop welcoming. The shop sells many hobbies from trading cards, mini rv cars, board games, and more. For trading cards, they always have singles for Pokémon and magic. Best part imo, they price by the market AND tags the price on the sleeve and not the top loaders. I'm a top loader guy. So I just replace the sleeves and use the top loaders.
