People, this store values players and community to the MAX. Redbeard (shop owner) might be a little stiff, but damn it if he isn't generous and fair to players and event goers. My mans literally discounts some of his product if you rip onsite. He also has a dog! Very good pup. Nikko breathes literal life into this store. If you have problems with him, you'll have problems with the community :). Be nice to him and he repays your kindness tenfold. There's another employee there who isn't exactly a "ray of sunshine and joy" but if you truly expect every customer service employee to treat you like a king or queen while doing their job, I'm sorry but you're either a sociopath or just straight psychotic. Their level of respect and fairness for the table top and card gaming community is genuinely unparalleled in the Tri Valley. Go to one of their events or game nights, try and make some friends, play a few games, and you will have fun, I guarantee it. Rip a few packs and enjoy the vibe that no other game shop will bring. Nikko's an absolutely wonderful person to interact with and gives me a great experience every time I come in, and Kellan ( the owner) is similar to the guy I hate but tolerable to interact with so that just leaves one person. Each time i'm here he's rude like i did something personally to upset him and all i do is let him know that my list is ready like we're told to and he treats me like i'm the rude one being inconsiderate and let it be known that the times i have patiently waited to tell him my list is ready he rudely tells me to interrupt him etc. etc. the almighty laptop this or that so to that i have no idea what the efffffff this guys problem is. What drew the line with me and ultimately made me decide to write this review is when i last came in for a couple cards. We do the dance "ok i'll get to it when i get to it" cool so i wait, now normally the second i see him i've come to just decide to leave and wait for a txt from them to come in but i absolutely could not do that this time. Idk what his deal is i just know you're going to WAIT. I get that hey, you have lists that need to be pulled there's a line yada yada i get it but the last couple times i've been there he just talks and talks and talks until Nikko comes in and then come to find out that literally it was just my list that he needed to get to. WTF. And my last experience with this guy was no different i waited in the store cause i had no other choice. Got there at 5 and left Galaxy Games at 6:30 effing waiting listening to this guy just talk and talk and you guessed it talk some more. I've been there before you know, shift's about to end i'll leave the last of my work to the next guy, terrible habit but i've done it. But literally sitting on a list of cards you can count with one hand for an hour and a half is completely left field and i hope you wake up one day soon with the rest of your hair gone. I called the store one day to ask if they took in opened boxed Legos for cash. I asked one more question, which I believe was the most important one, is there anything I should do before I come in and they said no. Ultimately I took apart the Lego set, thinking it would be easier for them, plus no one I know would want a Lego set that's already put together. Where's the fun in that? Overnight I took apart the set and bagged everything according to the manuals. I think I did a pretty good job at doing all of that for them. The following day I went in and informed the person at the counter that I had called about trading in a Lego set for cash. I proceeded to show them the bags and manuals for the set. The guy behind the counter gave me a blank stare and looked at the bags and threw out a number. It wasn't a fair price, their reasoning behind it was the set was not put together, and how were they to know if it was the correct set and if all the parts were there. Furthermore, they stated that if I brought it in put together, the cash back would've been a little higher. Still not a fair price. He gave me the bags back and said I could go home put it back together and come back later. I just gave up. I sold it as is. In all honesty, I shouldn't have, but I lost my job prior to this interaction and I needed the money. Honestly, if you have Legos that you're trying to sell, just hold out and sell them on your own. Go to different toy stores, look up local toy groups, or trade events. It's not worth going here.

Had an awesome recent visit to NorCal Hobbies with my son. I hadn't been there since 2015 after…read moretaking a long hiatus from the hobby, so it was really cool to come back. My 4-year-old is obsessed with anything with 4 wheels, so getting back into RC with him has been such a blast. We came out to get my 2WD buggy on their awesome indoor carpet track and let my son check everything out. The whole experience was great. The track is fantastic, and the shop had such a welcoming vibe. One of the highlights was their indoor rock crawling area. We had been wanting to try crawling, and Will was kind enough to loan us a crawler to test out. Needless to say... we ended up leaving with one! Overall, we had an awesome time. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to come back for more track time and check out some of the upcoming events. Be sure to support your local hobby shop!

Might have to take a trip to the other hobby shop that's close to this one to compare selection. . But overall, this shop wasn't too bad.
