And another mini room dedicated to puzzles for all ages, jigsaw puzzles organized by age level and number of pieces, as well as mechanical puzzles and brain teasers. I was able to find a 100-piece glitter puzzle featuring unicorns and rainbows, perfect for my niece's bday. Staff was hard to find, roaming around the store blending in with customers wandering the aisles. But once the employee saw me waiting at the front counter, he helped grab my selected puzzle off a top shelf and the purchase process was quick and easy. Free street parking was limited on a Friday afternoon, but not impossible to find. I secured a spot just a block away.

The building has this old school feel with an upstairs quarters someone lives in it looks like. This place has all kinds of books, countless funko pop figurines, anime books, baseball & all sports cards. Super cool finds in here. Every parent was individually standing in line and making their own purchase for their own child, just like every other customer in that line. We weren't one person trying to purchase for an entire basketball team. The kids were walking around looking at things because it's a toy store. The parents stayed in line. There was also no posted rule saying that a child had to physically stand in line the entire time in order for their parent to purchase for them. So why did the fact that we happened to know each other change how the rules were applied to us? If we had all walked in separately and didn't know one another, would each parent have been allowed to make the exact same purchase? That's the part that made us feel singled out. And when a group is treated differently from everyone else, it does make you wonder why and whether there was some kind of bias involved. As a toy store serving children and families in an increasingly diverse community, I really think you should do better. We weren't asking for special treatment. We were asking for the same treatment as every other parent who stood in that line.
