Every parent was individually standing in line and making their own purchase for their own child, just like every other customer in that line. We weren't one person trying to purchase for an entire basketball team. The kids were walking around looking at things because it's a toy store. The parents stayed in line. There was also no posted rule saying that a child had to physically stand in line the entire time in order for their parent to purchase for them. So why did the fact that we happened to know each other change how the rules were applied to us? If we had all walked in separately and didn't know one another, would each parent have been allowed to make the exact same purchase? That's the part that made us feel singled out. And when a group is treated differently from everyone else, it does make you wonder why and whether there was some kind of bias involved. As a toy store serving children and families in an increasingly diverse community, I really think you should do better. We weren't asking for special treatment. We were asking for the same treatment as every other parent who stood in that line.

Whether you like to read or are looking for the perfect gift, this shop is an absolute treat in every way. The people who work here are so knowledgeable about books and scan always recommend the perfect novel or nonfiction based on a description of your preferences. It reminds me of the days when there were neighborhood video rental shops before Blockbuster and Netflix. You could walk in and describe what you were in the mood for, and they would find you the perfect film. Towne Center is this for books!! And they gift wrap for free!!! Why go anywhere else!?! There's a center display right inside the front door with staff selections and new books. What they don't have in volume, they make up with a curated selection, and nice little tags with book descriptions. Bob was an older gentleman who worked here until he recently passed. He also sometimes worked in the Livermore store. Like many men, I got a lot of books here based on his recommendations for history. After chatting with me just a couple times, he recognized me when I came in the store, and steered me towards something I could not resist. I'll miss him very much. We were lucky and got a table, so we sat there a little while drinking our drink and discussed a couple of books. Then we went back to the store and shopped around a little. There is so much to see in this store. She found 2 books that she wanted to get, The Orient Express by Agatha Christy (I haven't read the book, but love the movie) and another book, but in the end they settled on getting a game for my parents. The box looked intriguing, but when we opened the box at my parents house it turned out to be a complicated game. We'll have to study the directions and play it another time. We were tired by the time we made it to their house. I found a great book too. It was the unofficial guide to Disney World 2025. They have a new one that comes out in August 2025 for the 25-2026 year, so this one should be on sale soon. I was going to get it, but decided it wait to ensure we're really going to Disneyworld first. I don't want to do all this planning if we aren't going. The book is as thick as a dictionary. Apparently, there is a lot you need to know before you go. I'm excited for our trip and a bit overwhelmed. I look forward to our next trip to Barnes and Noble and finding more books and treasures. So, my child ended up getting something different. At a whim, I decided to ask Cole, the team member that assisted us at checkout, even though it was already a long shot for me. To my surprise, Cole knew what I was asking about and said he recollected there may be some left and checked the drawers but wasn't able to find any. He then asked if I wanted him to check the back room but he had already gone the extra mile just by checking the drawers for me so I declined. However, he insisted that it would only take 10 seconds and I said why not - so as long as I wasn't hindering him from anything. Sure enough, it was less than 10 seconds and he came out with them!! I WAS SO HAPPY but not as happy as my child! So, because of Cole, we left extremely happy and satisfied. It wasn't the fact that they had the item, but I felt Cole went above and beyond to actually TRY to ensure customer satisfaction and didn't give a dismissive attitude or answer. Even if hypothetically, he recalled incorrectly and there wasn't anymore in stock, I still would have been satisfied because of the effort he put into checking multiple places to see if they had it. Genuinely, it was my first time being helped in that manner in any retailer, so it gave me hope that customer service compassion isn't dead or something of the long past. So, I don't know if anyone has had a similar experience like me, but I'm very glad to have had such an impactful experience here by this particular team member and I'll be sure to check here first for all of my children's needs!

Your merchandise will break soon after you get home and the warranty means the guy who stands at this kiosk will glue your busted merchandise back together for you. And, he will charge you for the glue. If I had paid half the price for my little toy radio-controlled quadcopter this place would be getting four stars. But paying full price and getting half quality with miserable customer service is frustrating. Warning, do not give the proprietor of this kiosk any of your personal information. When I walked up to the kiosk no one was working there but the cash register was covered with little sticky notes containing customer names and phone numbers. I waited for 50 minutes for the proprietor to come back.
