FNM crowd plays at a high level, but everyone is super friendly sand welcoming to newer players. The owner does a great job; the store is clean, well-organized, and has a fun atmosphere. I'll be honest, I don't actually play MTG at all, nor do I even pretend to understand it. I think it's cool that they sell the cards and host tournaments, but the reason I come here is for the NES and GBC games. Their selection here is unfortunately, is very limited, but I always manage to find something good, and have never left emptyhanded. Some games I bought here include all 3 mario bros games, Faxanadu, Micro Machines, and a 5 screw Athena cart (yes, I know it's a terrible game, but It's one of those games that is so terrible that I must own it). On one of my trips I actually managed to snag a Japanese Adventure Island on the GBC, which was pretty cool. Tim is a great guy as well, and I've always found his game recommendations to be good, and he always seems to find something positive with each game to talk about. However, I simply can't give this a 5 star due to the extremely limited selection of NES games, and while most move fast, I swear I have seen the same Who Framed Roger Rabbit for about 7 months now (Though I can understand, that game is just awful) read more

I came in looking for some old console games, like for original Xbox, GameCube, or NES. They have a small selection, but some pretty good titles. None of the games have prices, so you have to ask, and they get their prices off a website price list. I felt bad about asking them a few times for prices--even though that's their system--but they've very accommodating and polite about it. I was happy to get a 2005 sports game for $3! That's like a thrift store price! A popular Mario title for GameCube was $30, however. Overall, a good experience for retro gamers like me. I'll visit again if I'm in the area! read more

Just recently got back in to playing mtg, since '93. My kids are getting into it and glad Galaxy Games is close by! They have a great selection of reasonably priced booster packs spanning a few years back and a great selection of single cards. The owner Kellen and other dude Tom, was very friendly and answered questions that my kids had about the game. Both are very knowledgeable about game play, rules, cards and upcoming releases. Was in the area visiting with my GF's family, and after introducing them to Splendor, went looking for a game store for them to purchase a copy. Found that Galaxy Games was near the hotel, and went over. Everything looked to be MtG, which is fine. What isn't fine is that we were not acknowledged by the staff in any way. This may be a great place for regulars, but when a potential customer comes in, a little courtesy goes a long way. We might have recommended that a special order be placed, but there's no chance of that when you are ignored. read more

This is a terrific game store with very reasonable prices. I attended an MTG pre release last weekend and it was a blast. 6 rounds of play for the $25 which I thought was a killer deal. Tim the owner was also drawing names at random and giving away prizes all day. Tim bought this place six months ago so it's under new management. Fun place to play magic (MTG). I was getting back into the game and came for a few of their drafts. They always have a good crowd and all the players I have met have been very friendly and helpful. Good store in the East Bay, lacking in the video game department, but the owner is great and I hope this store gets some more inventory. It's mainly run as a Magic Card store, but has a decent selection of games. The prices are standard, they have good policies and the guys are considerate. I did have my games brought to have them bought, that wasn't the owner and I got a pretty low offer on everything, but it wasn't awful. I imagine if it was the store owner, I would have got a little better offer, but I enjoy the store and come back here every so often. read more

GG is a Great business, kinda tucked into a corner. I had been searching for a decent used game store when I was referred here. It was very clean and tidy and the owner tim knows his shit. Went to 3 games shops and this was my favorite by far. Not a lot of selection for games, but everything was reasonably priced and well maintained. It's a bit of a drive for me in Santa Clara, but this will be my place to pickup classic games. This place is awesome. They have such a huge inventory on Magic cards and a good amount of supplies, including some deck boxes I haven't spotted anywhere else since its release. I have gone to this place scene 2013 sadly the old owner gave his bissnuss away to a friend of his but his friend knows a lot about MTG and video game history he is a collector to just like me but this store is a good place for MTG they have tornaments witch I go to and a little selection for video games one day I went to trade in a Super Nintendo with super Mario world and zero and papermario he siad in store credit it would be 50$ in cash it would be 40$ that is a really good deal I hope for u people that this was some what helpful I say gamers and game collectors an MTG players should come here this place is the best. read more

Holds an event bringing in $2,300 (filling the place) then pockets half instead of scaling prize support. Unheard in all my years of playing competitive events. Found this store today when trying to find a used Nintendo 64. I had been searching all over the bay area at other stores but they either did not carry them or were way to over priced. I wanted the comfort of knowing that I was purchasing a Nintendo 64 that was not going to be beat up and old from ebay or craigslist. I was about to give up for the day until I found this place. I walk in and was greeted by the owner Tim who was super friendly and asked what he could help me with. He informed me that they sell Nintendo 64's all the time and were out at this moment but was able to order one and I could pick it up in a few days. He offered me a great price and said he would give me a call as soon as it came in. He then showed me around his store, which had an awesome collection of Magic the Gathering cards and vintage video games. I was impressed at how fair his prices were and how honest and nice of a guy he was. I highly recommend checking this place out!! read more

Like a couple other reviewers here, I'm a new player. My son and I dig spendin time together over strategy games, board games, card games etc, and recently thought we'd give magic a try. We tried this shop that's near my job and relatively new.Tim the owner is a veteran magic player himself. He's a very cool guy who was happy to stop and chat a bit about some cards and help a couple newbies out with some tips and suggestions on deck building, game mechanics and general stuff. He's very helpful, friendly, professional and seems to be very well liked by all the local patrons. As I haven't spent much time in these kinda shops I don't have much to compare to but the store is very well laid out, clean, spacious and seems to be very well stocked. My boy had his nose glued to the glass cases with plenty of well organized cards on display. We stayed for quite some time browsing lots of single cards and pickin up a few things. Like another reviewer I also discovered I was paying a bit more at another place for stuff like deck boxes. With booster packs at 3 for 10 bucks we wont be heading back to Target. Galaxy definitely gets our business. Stop in and patronize your local small business owners. Great shop. read more
