The coffee tastes like a clean, bitter, cold brew with a foamy top. (Important: Bring Cash. There's a 4% Cash Discount.) I arrived at Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) on Thursday (around 12:13PM). Parking is simple but busy. There's a side lot for customers; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Staff is courteous, no-nonsense, and diligent. Staff worked hard. Staff quickly answered all my questions. My coffee took about three minutes. Good time. As mentioned, I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew ($9 - Large - 24oz). The coffee is very standard. It tastes exactly like any imagined cold brew coffee. Personally, the roast tasted a little burnt, but it's a common, familiar coffee flavor. The strength was weak for a nitro, but the HUGE SIZE and affordability balances it all out. This is a functional, budget drink. On ambiance, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a HUGE success. There's a lot of utility. The location has a self-serve water station, public internet with no password, stacked high chairs for children, two game corners (ex: Chess, Giant Connect 4, Giant Jenga, Uno Cards, Etc), and about one available electrical outlet. I also appreciated the retro, upbeat music and 1930s movie decor. In addition, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) has plenty of seating. There's about four interior tables, but there's also 16 outside patio tables. The location is clean, well-maintained, and well ventilated. Overall, Rail Side Cafe (San Dimas) is a good, local neighborhood spot. It offers affordable choice that are prepared "good enough." I wouldn't drive a long distance for this spot, but it's a decent option if you're already nearby. 4.5 out of 5

Likely one of the very rare 5 star reviews that I will ever do. I have been living here for 35 years and Legends has been a staple for myself and my family after I "discovered" the place. What you get here is solid, tasty food that is inexpensive, served fairly quickly in a shop that is clean clean clean. The only down side is that the food you get is often warm, not as hot as I would normally like but that's not really an issue since warm food is what you're paying for here, it *IS* a fast food place, after all! WARNING: If you order a large helping of French Fries, be warned that if you plan to eat them all by yourself you may not be able to. A small helping of fries is a large helping anywhere else, and a small should tide you over through the entire meal, no real need for a large order. Also their ONION RINGS are excellent, they are thick-cut and battered and breaded to perfection. Often over the years all I have ordered is the onion rings, together with the salsa bar that's all one really needs. :) There are a few items on the menu that are fairly expensive, but that's because they're rather specialty items that cost a lot to make, everything else is a very good price for the excellent food one gets. read more

"Stopped by Legends Diner and had a great experience. The food was fresh, hot, and really tasty. The chicken tenders were crispy and full of flavor, the fries were seasoned just right, and the burger was juicy and loaded with toppings. Portions were generous and everything came out hot and fresh. It's also conveniently located right on Route 66 in Glendora, California, which makes it an easy stop if you're in the area. One thing to know before you go: you place and pay for your order at the cashier first, then find a seat and they bring your food out to you. Definitely a great spot for comfort food and we'll be back!" read more

Legends Diner in Glendora really is a blast from the past the moment you walk in. From the retro walls to the old-fashioned tables and chairs, every detail feels rooted in classic American culture and history. It's the perfect spot for a comforting breakfast, with a solid selection of all the staples you'd expect. Service was great as well, the staff was very charismatic. They also serve burgers and other diner favorites if you're stopping by later in the day. Overall, a charming, nostalgic spot with good food and a warm, welcoming vibe. This restaurant has so much potential but unfortunately taking a break from returning as it's never been truly good, simply satisfactory. Today it even fell below satisfactory and the restaurant was the least busiest that we have ever seen it. Service was helpful and pleasant but food was definitely below satisfactory. Crispy waffle was not crispy and too rubbery. Pancakes too chewy. Scrambled eggs had liquid still following from not being cooked properly. Hash browns much too oily. With this many failures, no need to send food back. Obviously the cooks were not giving their all at 1:00 pm on a Sunday! We are often looking for good breakfast and lunch locations but unfortunately Village Vault has fallen off of our list.
