Every time I used to go here I would get acrylics or gel and I understand now why people aren't getting their nails done these days because nobody seems to do any cuticle or cleanup on the nails before they start the service. To add to that I have bled multiple times from my skin being scraped from the drills that they use. I really wanted to like it here. First time visiting since I'm new to the area. The pedicure was fine but they're really cheap on how much product they use- 2 coats of polish and a top coat but really uneven nails. I asked if they can shape it more but the lady basically mocked me and said "you want it square square square?!?" And I'm like chill... I'm just asking if you can make it more even and more squarish. Also the customer should always be right, please make more of an effort and don't rush through everything. She was speaking to my manicurist at the time in their language and I'm fine with it but I can tell they were making fun of me. The manicure was mediocre- she just dipped my nails in water clipped my cuticles and painted my nails. That was it. No lotion, no oils, no massage, no exfoliation. So what's the difference between getting a polish change and a manicure? Absolutely nothing. Also wanted to get a design but she basically said she can't do it and convinced me to get it plain. Her paint job was okay but still bumpy and uneven - fine with the shape tho. Overall rating it a 1. As much as I wanted to protest - I have dignity and won't do that. She pays attention to detail and always takes her time. She's an amazing nail technician. This salon is very well kept together and clean. They just finished renovations and it looks beautiful. The room is small and filled with tons of random stuff. It doesn't seem like the most sanitary place, but for some reason I really trust Myloc, the cosmetologist. I've never had a facial wax before. This was my first stop and I've never bother to look elsewhere. She knows exactly how to shape my eyebrows that would help frame my face. It's not painful at all, as a matter of fact, it feels kindna good. I usually get eyebrows, underarms, and upper lip done for $20. That's a pretty awesome deal. I recommended her to a few friends and they love her too. For the nails part, I had somewhat a bad experience. This place is always busy on the weekend, and the price is pretty decent so I've decided to get a manicure for the first time ever. Yes, it sounds crazy that I'm Vietnamese and only had my nails did once, and no I don't do other people nails. I told the tech my cuticles are sensitive so be extremely careful. This warning apparently didn't work, because 2 of my fingers were bleeding. They were also good at convincing, well more like they were pushy to get me a foot massage and a pedicure. The foot massage was absolutely useless, it didn't feel like anything. The pedicure was ok, maybe because the color I picked was ugly. Either way, pass on the mani and pedi. P.S Cash only. They also have really great and affordable prices, I usually get a pedicure for $30 and then nexgen with tips for $30. Would totally recommend Nikki for nails and Judy for pedicures. Services usually take an hour to and hour and a half (just depends on what you're getting). All employees are extremely nice and will fix something if you don't like it. The only downside is the massage chairs really suck. I tried all the massages and settings, but couldn't find anything that felt good. On the other hand, the hot rocks felt so soothing. I'm not sure who does brows there, but she did a great job on my friend--a bride-to-be. They were super accomodating and friendly to our large group of ladies from the bridal party. They have very low prices that are super reasonable and their waxing lady is fantastic! She always does my eyebrows and lip for $15. Highly recommend! You will have the best luck making an appointment or coming at a time when they are not busy because occasionally quality goes down when they are very busy (which they are often!) I was told to ask for Kim, but she was on vacation, so I made an appointment with whoever I could get in with, and was not disappointed! I did not catch the name of the tech who did my nails, but she did a good job. I believe Lynn was the tech who did my pedicure. It was excellent! There was no pedicure menu, you get what you get. They also didn't ask me to choose a color when I walked in. They brought a small portfolio of color selections to me at my chair, which was different. I liked that it was easy for the pedicurist to match the dipping powder color I had selected in regular polish. The biggest surprise was at checkout. Very good prices! I paid $40 more two weeks ago for the exact same thing I got today at a loud, hectic salon in Richardson, and service was not as good. I am impressed, and will be back. read more
