I frequently go to Nails Star for my acrylic nail sets and pedicures. The staff is very sweet and pricing is great compared to other salons that have jacked their rates up. The music is calm and quiet, very chill and calm environment. They have a program which gives you quick rewards in return. You just give them your phone number. Is a typical nail salon nothing too special. The receptionist or the lady who asked what I was needing was friendly actually everyone was pretty much friendly. I wasn't pleased with the massage on my pedicure. I asked the lady if she could do it harder and she continued to rub me like a five-year-old was rubbing my legs. She attempted but reverted back to an elementary and during the massage, she only concentrated on the side of my legs and not my calf muscles. When it came time to paint my nails, I asked if they could match the toenail polish to the powder I received on my nails she came back with a lighter color, and when I informed her that that color is lighter, she proceeded to bring me a sample of colors that they had and when I chose the color by number she still brought back a lighter color When she went to tell the lady about the color I could tell in her tone that it was not pleasant. the guy who did my nails was OK wasn't rude, but definitely left my hands dry and dirty & powder on my fingers. This is the first salon that did not have me wash my hands as I was checking out. I was quoted a different price for my nails and when I asked, she told me there was an up charge for the shape I got that was fine. I just wish I would have known ahead of time. I came to the salon because it was closest to my house. I doubt if I come again I'll just drive the extra 15 minutes to where I normally go but if you want a quick fix with decent results, this is your place. read more

Conveniently located with competitive prices, this place is my go-to when I need a pedi or mani. Li and the rest of the staff are always cheerful and happy to see me. I've had several different nail techs work on me, and I especially like Kim for my pedis. Appointments not necessary (I've only ever had to wait 15 minutes max as a walk-in), but they also accept appointments. Their customer perks program is really nice, as well. Two thumbs up! read more

I am usually not one to make reviews but I have my cosmetology and nail license and I feel like I need to warn people about this place. usually I do my own nails and hair but today I was in a pinch and went in for a removal of my acrylic set I had. The first thing I noticed was the push to get a manicure which is normal for nail salons, no biggie. The red flags started when I saw the guy sit down. None of the utensils he used on me were sanitised or clean. Surfaces were not sanitised either. I would like to mention I was the first client of the day at 10:30 am so it wasn't like he was in-between clients either. Another red flag was he used a metal e-file bit on my bare nail, huge no no in the professional nail world. I tried to make small talk after he burned my finger with the drill bit but he literally laughed at me! Just a bad vibe. The cherry on top was when I left I still had acrylic on my nail beds. I only paid $10 for the removal but I would have much rather just struggled and did them myself lol! Definitely will not be back, and I'd recommend you run as far from this place as you can. read more

Eveytime I would go in there it's always an issue her attitude is terrible and if you don't allow her to talk to you crazy and stand up for yourself she will try to up charge yo. 2 months ago this nail salon gave me a fungus then they got mad because I was upset about the fungus to the point where Jimmy said he didn't want to do my nails anymore and he's the one that gave me the fungus then today when I called and tried to set an appointment with Danny the manager lied and said that Danny did not want to do my nails either me and Danny have never had a problem it is a million nail places around the metroplex I would say go there because this place will give you a fungus and then act like you are the bad guy I really hate how much money I spent with them their customer service is bull crap they do not take pride in their customers the manager is a liar she was going to have me wait for 30 minutes and not give me a call so I had to go up and see what the problem was when I got there she claimed that Jimmy or Danny didn't want to do my nails so I asked her to do my nails and she made up some excuse about trying to take pills for a baby and she wouldn't be here so she couldn't do my nails but she is clearly sitting at her chair now doing nails if I could give them a zero I wouldnail store in Garland is trash and all of the employees and be careful even the people who do feet they do not know what they're doing thumbs down please find another place to go as you can see their reviews are not even high for them to be such a high quality nail salon it's all a lie into the manager you are a lying b**** read more

I first tried this place 12/22 with my 2 daughters we all got our nails done. They lasted about 2-3 weeks I loved how they looked and the fact we were offered soft drinks during our pampering. I frequented this salon previously when it was under different management around the corner, and it had been my favorite nail salon for 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see the updates, and hesitant when I heard it had changed owners, however my experience was even better than before. There was cheerful conversation, but I was allowed to remain quiet and enjoy my silence - the nail technicians were doing such an excellent job on my feet and hands. I got the 'Aloe Pedicure' and 'Pearl Manicure' with gel polish; including raw aloe, paraffin wax, and hot stones! All of the individuals working in the salon were very friendly, and engaging with the guests, they even offered a loyalty card, which of course I'll be using. my daughter went here yesterday to get her nails done. When we called the day earlier we we're quoted $30 for acrylic nails. I of course knew that this would probably end up being slightly more as no one ever gets just basic anything, now granted these nails aren't overly difficult or long and detailed they are a basic short pointed nail with a single design line on them when she went to check out the total was over $70 not including a tip at no time during her experience of getting her nails done did anyone ever tell her that some of the things she requested were going to be extra or how much extra they just continued on with her service when she called me to ask for additional money to finish paying for the nails I was floored at the total and even more so the fact that not one person talked with her about the amount of extra charges would be there is also no price board inside this mail salon stating what any prices are so your in the dark they can charge whatever they want to and you would never know what difference now I get it possibly she should've asked before starting what all she wanted but this is a 15 year old they don't know these things it was a plain and simple bait and switch and the fact it was a young person it was an easy target they don't know to stand up and say no or discuss these things as they don't have those experiences this salon is crooked and has very low business ethics when I called today to speak with a manager or the owner about my displeasure I was basically told in no uncertain terms tuff they didn't care and if I wanted a refund to come back and they would take the nails back off no that's not what I was looking for I was looking for some customer service explanation as to why they felt it was ok to continue to add the extras esp to a young person asked for without saying this is extra charge or anything to that effect to me that is extremely unprofessional and very crooked I will never step foot back in this business I work extremely hard for my money as does my daughter and these nails ended up taking her entire paycheck she had just gotten plus some so buyer beware of this business they will see a weakness or vulnerability and act on them that's not how you should do business and I would suggest you carefully check the place before you do business with them some people only care about themselves and its so sad read more
