I'm writing this saddened by my experience and service, I debated for long to even upload this review. I visit Essence fairly once a quarter for a great pedicure and get my nails done on special occasion. When I walked in, I mentioned I need a pedicure and a manicure by the time I was seated (Unfortunately) I received a phone call for about 45 seconds. By the end of call before talking to me my nails were prepped for a dip manicure and tips were being glued. I hesitantly stopped them and I mentioned - hey I want a spa manicure first and don't want tips to be added. She paused and continued to add tips and after finishing adding tips on both hands. She asked it's okay I will cut it. (Again - I didn't want any tips added to begin with) I annoyingly said sure go ahead. If you see my nails.. I absolutely did not get what I wanted. The length, the services or even the color. Nails are unfinished, didn't get a manicure service at all. Nails were not cleaned or no oil massage. Work was so poor, one side bulky, other flat, cuticle cracked, edges bumpy and uneven filled. I was very disappointed by this visit. Please know, Essence is one of my favorite spots to get a great pedicure. If you plan to visit.. please be more courageous than I was and speak up or make sure you get what you want. read more

This place does it all. Stacey is great at eyelash extensions. She is flexible, dependable, and cares how you feel when you leave. Her nails never disappoint and when she's not available for nails there is always someone that does a great job. I have had many pedicures and not one complaint. Highly recommend. read more

Nguyen is the one that usually does my nails I'm not sure if that her name but that's what they all call her but she is my favorite she does an amazing job with my nails. Such a great place. It's not super big or fancy but the service was 10/10. I walked in on a Friday afternoon around 2pm and was able to get a pedicure done right away. I don't remember my nail techs name but it was an older lady. She was so kind and gentle and made sure my feet were well taken cared of. HORRIBLE experience! Second time here, my friend swears by it so I decided to give it another chance... and what a mistake that was! The young girl who did my nails did a crappy job. She didn't clean my cuticles like I asked but she did manage to cut me. Some of my nails are not even the same shape and she didn't even care to clean the polish around the edges. On to the pedicure, the experience was even WORSE! I got the paraffin wax package ($39) and he seemed to be rushing through it. When he was using the foot file he was not paying attention and just kept going to the point where I had to tell him to stop because it hurt. He stopped and moved on and didn't say anything, when I got home I noticed how bad he messed up my feet! Lucky for them I even paid! Will NOT be going here again! read more

My nails were not the problem. The problem is THE 20 MINUTE WAIT TO PAY!!! I got out my credit card when they said they prefer Zelle and I said the only thing I have close to that is cash app and she said that's fine. When I send him the $45 I was walking to my car when he stopped and said I didn't pay. (Calling me out there's like i couldn't afford $45) when I come back I canceled the payment so I could download zelle and send it though there when he was about to accept it through cash app so I was already angry. It took 10 minutes to download zelle with poor connection. Then 5 minutes to set it up! PLUS BEFORE THAT I HAD TO WAIT 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY TOOK ME INTO MY APPOINTMENT. read more

The experience was unpleasant. I entered the salon and I asked one of the lady's (guessing the owner) "how she was doing?" and the first thing said to me was "what do you want?". I told her my natural nails with dip. She didn't reply so I sat down, in my gut I knew I should've turned around because i didn't feel welcome nor that they had appropriate customer service. The lady then said, "no go back there". Keep in my mind this is my first time here. I sat down and the lady name Tina showed me the nail dip colors and there weren't many options without sparkles. I settled with a nude, Tina started sanding my nail beds without saying a word, nor asking me what I was looking for. I had asked her, her name and how she was doing. She said Tina and didn't say much else other than to the other nail techs. She pulled out the acrylics to start trying sizes, which then I let her know I just wanted my natural nails. When she took the powder, she took a used dip cup, dumped the powder that was in it on a napkin, took another napkin and wiped it, and reused it. (She poured the powder back after she was down with my nails) The place looks dusty and dirty. Not to mention, she was soo rough filing my nails, she continued to file them down where she was filing my skin roughly. I had to ask her to be more gentle. My real issue was she was almost done with my nails when she asked me if I wanted my cuticles cut, everyone knows the cuticles get cut when doing nails because of growth reasons the cuticle will have over the next few weeks. And Tina said it would cost more to cut the cuticles. In my head I was like this woman did it backwards because if I cut the cuticle now, it would look like I got them done a week prior before walking out the door. When she should've cut them prior to putting the dip powder on. I was really wanting not to pay. Non the less I will not give this nail salon a cent of my money and do not recommend it to anyone who values customer service, their money, and having nice nails. read more

The service here is inconsistent. It depends on who you get to get good service. When a problem is reported to the owner he is rude and unprofessional and they talk about you in their language. He came to address the problem I had and didn't address me at all and when he was done correcting my problem he just got up and left. No sorry no nothing... I had been going there for awhile because it was convenient. I will be looking for a new nail salon! read more

They were kind, but I am not okay with changing the price every time. I payed for a deluxe pedicure and it didn't include what the service menu said. My friend has got coffin shape with glitter for the flat $35 coat that their menu says. I came in 2 weeks later with the exact same girl, and they tried to charge me $45 bc "the shape and glitter." I was pretty upset. I know it's only ten dollars but I don't believe that is good business. Their customer service is nice. Friendly and we got you in quick. But the pricing fluctuates. read more

Super disappointed. Just got my nails done here and the young lady who did my hands completely botched this job. (I also got my feet done...and she did awesome!!!!) Took 30min for someone to even start on my hands while the lady did my feet. Once decided who would do them she colored my whole nail in white instead of American tip. She literally did them in 20min (bumpy, nail stuff all over my hands and also stuck from nails to skin, and bubbles in the clear dip). Horrible job! read more

I've been coming here on and off for several years, and I've dabbled in a few other salons looking for a cheaper price since the prices here can be a bit expensive. You get what you pay for though, and I keep coming back here for a reason. This places also has several regulars for a reason. Even when they are slammed packed and busy, they still take their time to make sure you are satisfied. Peter has been my favorite for the dip nails, and Matthew has been my favorite for pedicures, but all of the employees do a wonderful job and pay attention to the details you want. I thoroughly enjoy my time here when I get to come. I can't speak on the waxing or eyelash services since I've never used them though. read more

I love going here but it is so dirty that I cannot return. There is trash all over the salon collecting dust. Your staff is so nice but when I went in yesterday there was a baby Roach on the floor. Your chairs are dirty . Everything needs to be wiped down. There is a coke bottle on a shelf collecting dust that no one has thought to throw away. There is clutter everywhere. This last time, for a nail "fill", I was charged $30!!!! $30!!!!!! Really?? For a fill? They're pretty and all, but damn! I don't understand why they do that. If prices have changed, let people know! I have been going here for approximately Five years and I have never ever been disappointed in the service! They make you feel utterly pampered and totally relax by the time that the spa. They personalize every service ants the technicians there are excellent at looking at a picture and giving you What you actually want. Let me just start by saying I have been going here since high school and it's been years since Ive graduated from college.... I go in on Saturday get a fill and a pedicure( hadn't gotten a pedi since September) I started to do my own pedis at home but figured why not go and get one. When I got in there they were busy .... least to say I had an appt and with two specific people .... Nancy- pedicure and Peter(nails)- which btw Peter has always done an amazing job on my nails..... well this is where the issue comes in- Nancy was still doing someone else's nails so Matthew did my pedicure.... when I say this is the worst pedicure I have ever gotten ... it was the WORST .... prior to September I would always get pedis so I'm VERY familiar with the steps .... he was looking around not being attentive .... I'm sitting here looking at people beside me getting the same pedicure and the steps they are doing he didn't or did but did a shitty (excuse my French) job! I even told him that he didn't scrub my feet like how they are doing the peoples beside me and he lied in my face stating he did .... I even had to tell him to take off the additional nail polish off of my toes which I didn't realize until he had completed my massage he exfoliated one leg and didn't do the other ... it hasn't even been a whole week and my big toe has already chipped! Then they tried to charge me an additional $5 for my "coffin" nails which were square.... they were so busy worrying about how many people they could squeeze in than rather the experience they were giving there current customers! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Clean. The reason for the five stars - I usually have to beg for cuticle oil after my NexGen Manicure but here they automatically do oil, lotion, massage your hands and arms, massage your neck and your back and it is out of this world. I didn't get a pedicure today, but I saw others who did and they also spend extended amount of time massaging feet and legs. They seem to know the way to my heart. read more
