Croque Monsieur

10/10 This was the juiciest croissant I've ever come across. The sandwich I got was absolutely phenomenal. It was buttery and moist and melted in my mouth. I felt like remy in that one scene when he combined the berry and cheese. The flavors of this delicious sandwich were amazing. I've had a not so pawsome week and this surely made it 10x better. I also paired it with a coconut latte (real ones know what's up) delicious amazing. 100/10 would recommend. This shit willllll make you lick your paws!

Cute bakery/cafe in the neighborhood. Their pistachio croissant is definitely their specialty. The croissant itself was more bread-y and less of the tender flakes I've gotten used to in Europe, but tasty in its own way. The neon green pistachio filling is a bit too bright for my taste, but really enjoyed the pistachio crumb topping on top. Also one of the largest coffee syrup selections I have seen. Service was nice and quick, granted, I was here 830 on a Sunday morning lol. The weather was perfect for sitting on their rocking bench outside to enjoy the sunshine with breakfast!

Iced coffee

I love Le Caprice! Pastries are excellent and the iced coffee is so smooth. I live for the iced coffee. Croissants are so flaky and delicious. Breakfast sandwiches are fairly priced but would recommend getting a meat to make them a little more hardy. They always have a sample to try too. Parking can be tough on the side streets. Some outdoor seating.

Breakfast #1 Croissant Egg & Cheese; Iced Latte

Nice neighborhood spot if you're craving breakfast carbs! The egg and cheese croissant (add sausage) was large and tasty. They advertise that they use only cage-free eggs, but I can't say I noticed the difference. Croissant was flaky and held up well to the other sandwich elements. Iced latte was very good and generously sized. I noticed they used paper straws, and they asked us whether we wanted drinks in to-go cups or were okay with having them to stay, so it seems like they're putting efforts into sustainability, which I appreciate. Staff at the counter and delivering food to tables were very friendly. We appreciated being able to snag a table outside under an umbrella.

One slice of pastrami came on this $14 Reuben sandwich. One slice. I'll say it again. One slice.

Savory pastries

The savory pastries are delicious here! I came here to grab a quick snack before friendsgiving and the staff was very friendly to converse with while I was waiting for my pastries to be warmed up. I purchased a mozzarella and tomato savory pastry as well as the ham and cheese pastry. There is an equal balance of both the contents and the pastry and the pastry portion was crisp like a soft toasty croissant! I would definitely come back here again and purchase their savory pastries.

good place for breakfast but wasn't totally impressed with the flavor palette of the food i got.

Iced coffee

Ordered an iced coffee. Apparently they come premade. Looked like mud water and didn't taste like coffee in the slightest; more like watered down half and half. Threw away after picture was taken.

Plain croissant

If you're looking for the worst croissant in DC, this is the bakery to visit. The croissants are hard, oily, and tasteless. Give it a try and don't forget to share your experience.

I pick up a baguette every so often and walking up with a great latte is a bonus. The service is always quick and very polite.

Unlike most other coffee shops, they also have full service for folks who are dining in, so you can order from the QR code on your table instead of at the counter, and they'll bring your order out to you. I visited Bluestone around 4 PM in the afternoon, so it was a bit too late for coffee, but I love that they offer a wide selection of non-coffee drinks. I got their golden latte, which includes turmeric, almond milk, and a few other spices; it feels warm (both literally and figuratively) and is a lovely caffeine-free drink that helps me feel healthy as the weather gets colder. And to counterbalance any potential health benefits I might have gotten from the golden latte, I also got their chocolate chip cookie, which was massive -- almost the size of the plate they served it on. It was a solid cookie, slightly chewy but with a nice crust, although it was a bit lacking in chocolate chips. Bluestone is undoubtedly a rather pricey cafe, but I do love how quiet it is, so I'm sure I'll be making another visit the next time I need to be super productive.

Did I mention there's a fireplace? The service is truly unbelievable. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The barista made a recommendation for food and beverage, and the food came out very quickly after being ordered. They even were able to accommodate a special request to customize my meal. I've been drinking coffee regularly for over two decades. I come from a city where coffee inexplicably woven into the culture. That noted, I can assure you that this is highly above average product. Come for an energy boost, but stay for the espresso. This was definitely my favorite coffee shop that I visited during my extended stay in the DC area. I found the staff to be refreshingly considerate and the food to be both fresh and delicious. Did I mention there's a fireplace? I'm sure this place is incredibly cozy and inviting in the winter months, so I'll definitely be back.

I've probably gone at least 4-5 times so I've added photos from a few of those visits. Chicken ceasar wrap: soo good, balanced with dressing (I find some ceasar wraps to be under dressed but this one was perfect) and a small spring mix is included as well; Mexican Birria Grilled cheese; fire , I love that it comes with avocado on it. It's very flavorful and the dip didn't disappoint. Salmon bowl: salmon was cooked well, the rice was really good and their ranch. I appreciate that they do in house dressings. The service has been consistently good, welcoming energy and the ambiance is nice and chill. I'd recommend having breakfast/lunch here or even a light meeting. My thanks to the staff!
