Pop's definitely leans toward the savory end of the spectrum, both in bagel flavors and sandwiches. They offer plenty of tasty toppings to build your own breakfast sandwich. Fair warning: these are not sandwiches you can eat on the go!

Place has so many options I didn't know what to get but the guy at the front was really nice and let me get another schmear on the side also tasted amazing W establishment with W workers

Not only is this bagel spot amazing, but the locations couldn't be better- right across from the rock climbing gym! In currently going on four sundays in a row of bagel sandwiches and don't know if I'll ever stop. The bagels themselves are spectacular but the toppings make it all the better. Whether you're just looking for a bagel & schmear or a full on loaded sandwich, this is the spot for you. The location is perfectly minimalist to let you just appreciate the bagels.

It's not New York City, but D.C. has some good bagel spots- Bagels, Etc, Pearl's Bagels, and Call Your Mother. Because of that, I walked into Pop's Bakery skeptical and walked out a fan. First of all, the smell attracts you inside to a space where you can watch them make their bagels. There's a menu above the counter with just four bagel options (plain, everything, poppy, and sesame) but lots of schmears from sweet to savory. My seven-year-old daughter got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. I got the sesame with brown sugar cinnamon sour cream. The texture of both bagels was spot on-chewy and tasty. The schmears were excellent. I get why, but they put lots of schmear on the bagel. My daughter removed about half of it. They also sell coffee, drinks, chips, etc. Wait time was around 15 minutes on a busy Saturday around noon.

I've been walking by here for a while, and the smells coming from the bakery always smell so good. The bagels are made fresh and it definitely shows. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was amazing! The bagel was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It he bacon could've been a tad crispier but despite that it was a perfect sandwich!

My White Fish Salad of perfection

Promising options but our bagels were flavorless and falling apart. Super disappointed, wouldn't recommend.

The shop does get very busy and there is not much seating. It's best to take the items to-go. There will also be a constant line, but I find my wait time start to finish is less than 10 minutes on most days. Their bagels are fresh daily and the egg and cheese bagels are packed full with freshly prepared ingredients. I've had their lox and scallion cream cheese many times and they will put 2x the amount of cream cheese to lox - you may want to request for them to go light on this if you like to have more balance. I would also say that for butter on bagel you might want to ask for it on the side. I say this only because the melted butter is everywhere inside the wrapper and can drip out. I love their iced coffee and the fact that they always have simple syrup on their self-serve station. It is a milder coffee which I enjoy.

The bagels themselves were solid, a little on the smaller side. I got the Frenchie and it was tasty, although my friend got the Green Monster and didn't like it as much. Here's the latest and greatest vendor list from 2023: Timber Pizza - Scrumptious wood-fired pizza with a pillowy soft crust. I can't count on how many fingers and toes I've had the pizza at different farmer's markets! While the lines can get long 12:30pm, you only have to wait for 15 minutes. Taco Dirty To Me: Crispy battered cauliflower tempura tacos, bursting with flavor! Bun'd' Up - Delicious fried tofu and mushroom in squishy soft bao buns topped with microgreens, scallions, and a nice creamy aioli sauce. Light and tasty! Urban+ade - Refreshing lemonade with less sugar than classic lemonade. The Sage & Tarragon is my favorite! Veg Heaven - Decadent sweet treats, the dark chocolate cookies and brownies are the best! While the cakes are moist, they aren't as tasty. Taco Loco - Giant burritos are amazing! There's a swarm of people waiting in line, so be prepared to wait 10-15 min before ordering and then another 5 min for your order! The mango and watermelon juice are refreshing. Hipp Sippin' - Cold-pressed juices and acai bowls made to order. Ravenhook Bakery - Great selection of freshly baked loaves of bread and baked goods. DMV Empanadas - They sell out fast! While the empanadas has a nice crispy hard shell and with so many flavors to choose from, they are a bit bland and overloaded with bland cheese. The Spinach and Cheese or the Bacon and Cheese didn't quite hit the spot, hubby like the Chicken. Al Volo Cucina: While I wasn't a big fan of the greasy eggplant parm subs. They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
