Several visits after my first review I'm still enthusiastic about Le Bleu. Everything feels elevated above the utilitarian vibe of most Vietnamese restaurants I've encountered in Texas, and oriented towards the curious foodie who wants to learn more about the cuisine in a friendly and approachable environment. The bún with garlic butter prawns that I had on my first visit is still my favorite, but most everything I've tried has been a pleasant surprise. One exception might be the Pho Bo (beef). It is certainly solid but it doesn't rise head-and-shoulders above the offerings at other Pho specialty shops around town. I recommend Le Bleu as a place everyone (at least everyone north of the river) should try. I think they're doing a good job of making Vietnamese cuisine approachable to more people, without compromising its integrity and without making crass appeals to American trash food culture with nonsense like Sriracha Ranch Dip, Shaken Beef Pizza, or similar crimes against human dignity. Excellent lunch during my first visit to Le Bleu. I enjoyed many Vietnamese meals while living in San Francisco for decades and thought I'd never find a comparable place in Texas! (I had forgotten about the great influence of Vietnamese people in Houston during the 70;s & 80's.) In any case, I was very happy to discover Le Bleu. It was much more than I had expected, even after reading glowing reviews on Yelp! I ordered the Spicy chicken grilled BÚN-marinated thighs with 7 kinds of chili (flavorful, but NOT too spicy) rice vermicelli noodle, spring mix, bean sprouts, pickled carrot & daikon, cucumber, herbs, fried onion, cashew, and chili-garlic. It was a very filling and generous portion in a fairly large bowl. I highly recommend the Bun, but am very interesting in trying the Banh Mi, as a lunch companion had that it I was told it was excellent. We also shared a order of tender grilled baby octopus and the mango & papaya salad. We ordered at the counter on a not too busy weekday lunch and were served promptly. We also enjoyed the sweet mango iced tea and they even came by the table twice to offer refills. I can't say enough good things about Le Bleu and I think I will say more in a follow up review, since I am anxious to visit again! read more

Superior. Mango salad, spring rolls, pho bo, all significantly more true to Vietnamese food in Vietnam. The wider flat rice noodles actually tasted fresh rather than dried, lots of fragrant herbs so you get cilantro, spring onion and/or basil in each bite, complete balanced flavours. Tofu bahn mi- alright. A bit tasteless Ordered a shrimp bahn mi and they gave me a roll with a bunch of lettuce. Smh. Their "order pickup" station is a bit of a pain in the butt. They leave your food outside on a table and the customer has to walk up to see if the order is theirs. I was parked outside and 4 orders came out before mine, so I'm getting in and out the car 4 times before my fatazz was able to get my food. They should give the customer a call or send a text message when the order is ready. read more

Best viet fusion I've had in Austin. I really like their wings, papaya salad, OG banh mi, and their banh Xeo (you can ask for extra crispy). The pho was good but it could've been served warmer, otherwise had good flavor. Service was great and prices were Will definitely be back! 4/19: ordered Uber eats delivery from here today. Absolutely delicious! They are now serving CRAWFISH and it was very tasty and flavorful (reminds us of Boiling Pot with a blend of salty, spicy, sweet, and citrus and garlic in the sauce). I couldn't help myself but leave my review here. I even left a post on their Facebook page in the hope to get it resolved. But it apparently was hidden from the timeline, still be able to response to my post in a salty way though. Didn't expect such a rude and unprofessional response considering reading a bunch of other good reviews. A few questions for the owner. - You know the craw can easily get spoiled or even turn dead despite being kept in a fridge, don't you? - Had you even checked that batch of crawfish yesterday before posting the reply with such a confident? Okay, let me be "more specific" and check "the fact" for ya. - Three of the crawfish smelled like ammonia. The rest were dry. - I had diarrhea two times last night. Never had such symptoms eating crawfish from other places. I'm by no mean an "expert" crawfish eater. I have it quite often in the season. I've tried crawfish from pretty much places in Austin, Pops Crawfish, Moontower Salon, Shoal Creek Saloon, ect... just to name a few. I even had crawfish that are cooked, frozen, and then recooked. The dry texture of your crawfish tasted exactly like that. I rarely leave any review/comment unless they are exceptional or terrible. I met a coworker for lunch at Le Bleu, it's tucked away in the most random strip mall I've ever visited. We were originally going to go to Bun Belly but they weren't open for lunch on Monday. I am so happy we ended up here because the Vermicelli bowl was yummy! I also ordered the mai tai which was delicious. Worst bowl of pho bo I've ever had. Salty, dry varietal meats with luke warm broth. Veg on the side? Nope, all dumped in. Steer clear. Service was acceptable until the fork that was brought to the table was filthy with a large piece of dried cilantro stuck to it. Peanut sauce great for spring roll and bread tasted very fresh. Generous portion of pork, often with a bahn mi the meat is skimpy. Bright, clean and spacious interior. Went to Le Bleu on research for the first time late yesterday afternoon as a friend's request for their birthday celebration. Learned that their 'happy hour' was from 3-7 (it was 4pm, lucky us) when we walked in Decided to start out with ordering from their Small Bites selection: chicken wings, grilled octopus, shrimp skewers, brussel sprouts and the mango salad. Review their menu for a wonderful description of ingredients. Everything was delicious. The small bites were served quickly. We were so full, we didn't make it to the next section of the menu but we also had beer, coffee, diet coke and dessert at the end. (Also ordered 2 orders of wings to go). The wait staff were genuinely pleasant and accommodating. This restaurant is worth experiencing and for me returning. The only thing, I forgot to get was our picture taken.....next time. read more

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago, I thought it was just ok. I got the grilled pork Banh mi and while I thought the sandwich was a good size, that's pretty much the only thing that stood out. The grilled pork was pretty sweet, tasted kind of like Chinese barbecue, which I was not expecting and didn't really love. The veggies were ok, the jalapeños were sliced into giant spears though, seeds and all- not julienned like they should have been. My main complaint was the bread- it torn my mouth up SO badly the roof of my mouth was bleeding for half an hour (I swear I'm not exaggerating). The Mayo was more like butter, I got a side of it and thought it actually was butter at first. I also got a side of the pate and thought it tasted like the canned variety, not good. All in all, it was fine but I wasn't impressed and won't be back, especially considering the price. read more

I came here for dinner with old co-workers and I was pleasantly surprised! Our server was very helpful recommending the best dishes on the menu and provided excellent service the entire time! I'm on healthy diet challenge so I was happy with the accommodation they were able to make for me. I got the grilled pork bún, but replaced the vermicelli with more spring mix and it was delicious! I'm also grateful they put the sauce on the side so I can control how much I want to add in. We also ordered the grilled octopus, spring rolls and friend egg rolls, all of which were fantastic! The have crème brûlée and ice cream for dessert. I was only going to have one bite, but the ice cream was phenomenal. I don't remember the exact flavors, but it was a scoop of mango and I believe taro served in a coconut shell, but sadly the coconut was too frozen to eat...however I'd still go there just for the dessert! It was a little pricier than expected but it's because they use high quality ingredients and you can certainly taste the difference. Tried this place today. I love that they serve Bahn Mi because I miss Bahn Mi! It was soooo good! Bahn mi and pho are loaded with fresh veggies. The serving size is good. I had the lamb bahn mi and it was so good. My friend had the shrimp pho. It was loaded with veggies and nice sized shrimp. It all tasted so good we can't wait to go back...probably next week! Food is fine. The biggest problem here is the service, particularly from one specific person. She's the redhead others have mentioned. She's the one who decided to correct me when I asked for vermicelli. "Bun, you mean." Oh, so you speak Vietnamese. So I proceeded to order the rest of my meal in Vietnamese. She says to me, "I don't speak Vietnamese." Oh really now. That's not what you implied 5 seconds ago. I reply, "Well, the menu is in Vietnamese and you work here (plus you tried to shame me for not knowing Vietnamese)." She says, "So? I speak Spanish. Half this country speaks Spanish." WTF. This is a modernized take on Vietnamese food. I LOVEDDD the banh mi because the meat and baguette were fresh, the flavors were there and the toppings were A1. I also tried the vermicelli bowl. I've been to Le Bleu twice now, and both times were great. The vermicelli bowls are so full of flavor and the portions are definitely satisfying. I tried the spicy chicken and the marinated pork, both amazing. We also had the grilled pork Bahn mi which was awesome! One of my favorites in Austin We went on a Saturday when they had all day happy hour prices, so we ordered brussel sprouts, wings and grilled octopus. We ordered all three when we went back the second time! I thought it was a bold move to add wings on the menu considering there's a wing plan just a few door down, but these wings have such awesome flavor they can hold their own for sure. The octopus had the perfect texture and some nice heat. They just added an expanded dinner menu that I can't wait to try out next time we go. Highly recommended! read more
