My filet mignon was perfectly cooked medium rare. The mushrooms were delicious and weren't too oily. Brussels sprouts had a good crunch to it but I could have done without the bacon. I loved the different sauces they had to offer! The tarragon bearnaise was a bit too vinegary for me l but I really enjoyed the red wine bordelaise sauce. The ambience was beautifully lit and perfect for a date night out. Our server was helpful and friendly.
It's been years since I've been here. Came for dinner. We didn't have reservations but they were able to seat us. Same ambience. Mood lighting. We were looking forward to have a really good steak! My husband and I ordered the Tomahawk for Two, a salad and a couple sides. Our server was nice but he rarely checked on us. Only when our salads came, when he cleared the salad plates, and next was when the steak came out. Market little gem lettuce: This isn't your typical green salad. It was more like a coleslaw with a lot of wonton strips. Not my favorite. I was hoping for more greens and less dressing. Tomahawk ribeye for two: Huge. Said it would take 45 min which was fine. We ordered it medium rare but it came out pretty rare in the middle for my liking. Although it came with rows of different salts on the cutting board, the steak itself needed flavor. Overall, it wasn't bad but I was hoping for it to be better. Love me a charred steak that's seared on the outside. Sautéed spinach: The seasoning was okay. But also too much. Truffle Fries: Fries are fries. These weren't worth the $14 price tag. I think their sweet spot is during the week for happy hour. It's also the best deal.
I came here years ago at the Santana Row location and had a much better experience, so this visit was really disappointing. I will say the service was great, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The sliders felt very basic, something my teenage niece could have put together. They were served on Hawaiian rolls and ended up being mostly bread. The truffle fries arrived cold, which was a letdown, and the calamari was mostly sitting on a bed of lettuce, making the portion look bigger than it actually was. Overall, it just did not match the quality I remembered. I would never return for happy hour. I left hungry and wanted to just get out of there and spends my money elsewhere.
LB has my favorite happy hour. It's a small menu, but hits every time. The service is impeccable. The staff is so friendly! I treasure my visits here. It is pricey, but it is a 5 star experience for me. I love that I can come in dressy or casual as well. I've seen a bit of a line close to when happy hour starts so come a bit early for a seat at the bar.
We went to LB Steak in San Ramon to celebrate a birthday. We were promptly greeted and seated by the charming hostess. We ordered oysters, steak tartare, filet mignon, Wagyu burgers, and a huge tomahawk steak, truffle fries and Brussels sprouts. Food was excellent as always, and Maria provided excellent service. The dining room was full but the time we left. Earlier there was a part of 12 ladies celebrating lunar New Year, so it was too lively and hard to carry on a conversation. Bishop Ranch offers a lot of parking in the parking structure, outside ground level too, and there is an option for valet parking. The food and service at both San Ramon and Santana Room were excellent, it's only a matter of choosing which location to go to.
Came over for a date night and we were genuinely impressed by the vibes and food! We arrived at 8:50 to a 9 o'clock reservation and were almost immediately sat down. After looking over the menu we ordered drinks and a bread basket for $7. The bread was definitely unique olive sourdough, regular sourdough, rosemary focaccia. The bread was decent but it didn't taste that fresh. We got our food in less than 20 minutes of ordering. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. Mac and cheese is definitely some of the best I've had from a steakhouse. This was my first time trying LBs and it's one of my favorites. I guess we got lucky with our server and it not being so busy. Everything was to our liking we were not disappointed. Definitely give them a try!!
Updating my review from last time there is a slight change in the happy hour menu. I've attached a picture as of February 2026. Happy Hour is now Sun to Fri 3 to 6pm. Disappointed the burger isn't on the happy hour menu anymore. The sliders looks like to be the replacement. Not quite the same ( see picture )
I visited LB Steak for a holiday end of the year team lunch. I have been to the Santana Row location years ago, but this time we went to the San Ramon location. We had a group of nine and made our reservation over the phone since the online system would not allow a party that large. We arrived right when they opened at 11:30 on a Monday. We started with appetizers and ordered the calamari and the house bread. The calamari had good texture but definitely needed more sauce. The green sauce on the plate looked nice but was not something you could really dip into. The whipped butter for the bread was very good. For my meal I ordered the boneless ribeye cooked medium with a side of bone marrow. The steak came out cooked correctly and was seasoned well. The quality was good. It was not the best steak I have had, but it was enjoyable and not chewy. The bone marrow was delicious. As a group we shared several sides which included truffle fries, mac and cheese, a loaded potato and brussels sprouts. Everything tasted good. The mac and cheese was just okay since it was a little watery and the flavor was not as rich as I prefer. Our server was polite and efficient but not very personable. He took our orders and checked in when needed but did not really engage with us. Overall LB Steak is a decent choice. It is not my top pick for a steakhouse because there are better options in the Bay Area. My manager chose it since it was centrally located for everyone on our team which worked out well. It was a good meal but not a standout experience.
Our first time visit to LB Steak came the day after Valentines. We sat in the lounge so we could take advantage of the happy hour apps and drinks. We had shrimp cocktail and calamari. Both were very good but small portions. We also ordered the Mai Tai's. For our meal we each had the fillet and our sides were baked potato, Brussel sprouts, asparagus, and sauce sampler. All were very good and we enjoyed sampling the different sauces with our steak. My steak was a little overcooked but it was still very tasty. Overall the staff and ambiance were nice. We enjoyed our visit and meal.
To me, Lb Steak had the most appealing Restaurant Week offering on paper, and fortunately the execution did not disappoint. The lobster roll was the best I've had outside Maine. The steak was a ribeye, providing an exceptional value. For appetizers, you can't go wrong with a properly made Caesar salad; however, the clam chowder was forgettable. Although I cannot comment on the regular menu, I was satisfied with the quality of the Restaurant Week special. I also want to mention that out of three places I frequented for Restaurant Week, LB was the only one displaying their special. Kudos to management for taking the promotion seriously and spending the extra time to train staff!
VISIT & RESERVATION: We came here for Restaurant Week. I've dined at LB Steak several times over the last few years and was excited to try their new prix-fixe offering. When I made the reservation online, I noticed that a credit card was required to book for the Restaurant Week option, but not for the standard menu. It made me wonder why that was necessary. Since we were a group of 4, I chose the prix-fixe option since that's what we were all coming here for. When we arrived, the hostess informed me that no booth was available, even though I had requested one in the reservation notes. It seemed to be the first time she saw the note, as she did a double-take before taking us to our table, which told me the request hadn't been reviewed in advance. She gave me the option of sitting at a regular table or a half booth w/2 chairs on the other side. I declined since it would've been weird for our party of 4. We were then seated at a regular table in the main dining room. On top of that, we were only given two prix-fixe menus for our party of 4, which felt like another small oversight since they make you pick your menu in the reservation. SERVICE: Our server, Alejandro, was unfortunately neither welcoming nor attentive. Since this was the first visit for two members of our party, I felt a bit embarrassed by the lack of hospitality. Our drink order took a while to be taken, and throughout the meal, he checked on us only a few times. When he did, the interactions felt unwelcoming, rather than warm. Almost like he dreaded coming to our table and only stopped by to check off a box to say he did. The service was extremely disappointing and not consistent with past experiences here. DRINKS: Hubby loves his old fashioned so he got one of those and their ice cube with the engraving is always so impressive to us. I ordered a mocktail which was good but a tad too sweet, while the other two in our party ordered a glass of wine which they seemed to enjoy. FOOD: We all selected the prix-fixe menu. -Starter: The Caesar salad was excellent, with anchovies that added a nice touch. Someone in our group had the clam chowder, and they thought it was very good. -Entrée: My steak frites was cooked to the requested medium-rare and was tender, but lacked seasoning. In the past, LB Steak presented a tray of assorted salts, which was a nice detail, but this time I was simply given a salt shaker. The bearnaise sauce was cold and goopy. When I asked our server about it, he said it's served like that. I didn't eat it and wasn't needed. -Dessert: I chose the apple pie, which I enjoyed, though it could have been served warmer. Others in the group found it too sweet. One only ate half, and the other barely touched theirs. My husband ordered the lava cake, but it lacked the lava molten center and instead had a static, goopy chocolate filling. While less sweet in flavor compared to the apple pie, the presentation and texture were underwhelming. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Certain parts of the meal stood out, the Caesar salad in particular, but the overall experience was diminished by inattentive service, reservation quirks, and the absence of those special touches that once set LB Steak apart. It also left the impression that, because we chose the prix-fixe menu, we may not have received the same level of attentiveness as guests ordering à la carte. ADDITIONAL NOTES: There were some small but noticeable service misses: -Bread was offered, but we later learned it now carries an extra charge, unlike in past visits. -Coffee was only offered once we were already halfway through dessert, which was too late. -The credit card hold for Restaurant Week felt unnecessary, especially when paired with service that didn't meet expectations. -Earlier in the Summer, I tagged LB Steak in my Instagram stories as my husband and I had gone for Happy Hour, and they replied to my stories saying if I ever made a reservation in the future, to let them know. I did so for this visit w/the reservation details, but the message was left on "seen." LOL. Not a big deal in itself, but it felt inconsistent and odd, especially given the overall lack of attentiveness during our meal.
Took my coworker here for a little thank you lunch. We didn't want to eat too much and hit an afternoon energy slump so we split a salad, steak entree, and side. Splitting the salad on to two plates and still making it pretty was very much appreciated. It was all the perfect amount of food. Both the hostess and server were very pleasant. It was still quite pricey, so I don't see myself coming too often, but I'll definitely be back. read more

Returned to celebrate my brother's birthday, and found that the accuracy on the temperature of my ribeye was not the same perfection that I experienced during my first visit. My medium rare steak came out black and blue with large chunks of unrendered fat. Additionally, I ordered a side of mushrooms to go with my steak that came out of the kitchen so late that we were all done eating by the time I received them. The kitchen either missed the ticket or the waitress forgot to enter them. I had to box them up and take them home, but at least they are great in omelets! Finally tried LB Steak in San Ramon. Came here with a girlfriend after a self care session at a massage and facial place. We were refreshed and ready for good food and wine. We made a reservation ahead of time. We were greeted as soon as we entered and were seated very quickly. The hostess put us in a half booth table. Very nice table set up, clean, and neat. Our server, Mike, was great! He came by to greet us and introduce himself right away. We quickly decided on a bottle of wine and he brought it out for us to try. It was delicious! She offered to take photos for us which I always forget on special days. I really appreciate that she wanted to capture the moment for us. We ordered the tomahawk steak, side of mushrooms, oysters, and an octopus appetizer. Overall, I thought the food was well presented but the taste was okay. We came here on a Sunday late afternoon. We sat the bar. The indoor decorations came a nice welcoming feel. The server/bartender was very nice and attentive. He took our order. We ordered a dozen oyster in a half shell and the tomahawk special for two. The presentation of everything was beautiful. We ordered medium rare for the tomahawk and it was cooked to perfection. They even sliced it in pieces just right. We were able to eat all the oysters but had lots of leftovers to take home. Next time we will try their happy hour. read more

Been wanting to try this steakhouse since they came to the City Center. Found out they were participating in the Tri Valley Restaurant Week and had a fun lunch special which was a starter wedge salad and then a bbq wagyu brisket sandwich and fries. We're both fans of bone barrow and shared the appetizer. Service was great and I love the ambience. I visited LB Steak on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my friend's acceptance into med school. This is definitely a special occasion place, with steeper prices and a contemporary ambiance that sets it apart from your average steakhouse (e.g., Black Angus). We ordered the French Toast and Crab Benedict. While the portions are a bit skimpy for the price, the food is pretty good. The Crab Benedict featured two hefty cakes of crispy crab, which were fresh and complemented perfectly by the hollandaise sauce. Usually, hollandaise is too heavy for me, but this one was so flavorful and lemony that I found myself savoring every spoonful - leaving no drop behind on the plate. The tater tots, however, were just decent. For such a small portion, it felt more suitable for toddlers. The French Toast was delicious, but we didn't realize it would arrive deep-fried. While it was good for the first few bites, it quickly became too heavy and sopped in oil to be considered a breakfast dish; it seemed more fitting to be served as dessert. The service was incredible, and the drinks were great. Overall, LB Steak is a solid choice for a special occasion, but it probably won't make it into my regular rotation of go-to spots. read more

Was excited to try this place as I've walked past it a few times. The interior is pretty and the ambiance does give off a luxurious modern steakhouse vibes. When it comes to the food it was pretty decent. We ordered calamari, bread, fried chicken, wagyu burger, spinach and mac n cheese. The fried chicken was really good and the burger was okay a bit dry but still edible. The bread was fresh and full of flavor and the calamari was cooked perfectly. 2nd visit update: We had another great buffet brunch and it was consistent with what we experienced at our first visit. The tenderloin is delicious and the prawns fresh and tasty. We enjoyed all the dishes and the variety is good. Ana was our server and she is very good at anticipating what we need and friendly. Sarper is the manager and he is genuinely focused on providing good food and a positive dining experience. He is proud of LB and it shows. This time I took photos of the food to add to this review. NOTE: this buffet is available Sat and Sun every weekend EXCEPT if there's a holiday like Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. Example, the buffet would be available on Saturday, but the Sunday holiday, it will not and the menu will be a normal a la carte or special menu . 5 Stars for our server, Forrest. He was great and provided excellent service. What went wrong? First, we were seated and it took 25 minutes before anyone came to our table. I had to ask the busser to find our server (which apparently was not assigned to us). Even after asking still nobody approached us until Forrest came by and asked if anyone helped us and he apologized and had to get permission to serve us. The big issue is at least 2 other servers walked by us several times and didn't say a word while serving the guests right next to us. Not a hello, nothing, and I don't even think Forrest was in this section but he went out of his way to make sure we were taken cared of. We ordered steaks, Mac and cheese with lobster and pork belly, mashed potatoes, and was given desserts and coffee. The steaks were perfect! The sides were great. The shrimp ..... came out twice and they were gummy and felt chewy and raw. The second time I believe it was the manager that came out and instead of apologizing he said the chef cut into it and it looked cooked. As someone who eats a lot of shrimp ..... it was not, we kinda laughed about it but no definitely not. Celebrated my monthsary here with my partner. We decided to dine in at this LB Steak location rather than the one in Santana Row since this location had better reviews-- and I'm glad we made that decision! My partner and I had a couple appetizers and we shared a tomahawk steak together, cooked at a medium-rare perfection. The service here was phenomenal. We did have to wait a little since we wanted to wait for a booth but all of our expectations were met. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting-- I loved the high ceilings and the warm lighting. Came here for a company dinner with a large party of 14. We had a reservation in advance but had to wait for everyone to be seated and ordered drinks at the bar while we waited. Once seated we ordered the bone marrow, calamari and seafood platter. All was very good! I thought the calamari could have had a better crunch though. Each person ordered a steak and a bunch of sides to share. I had the boneless rib eye cooked medium well because we were told you should order your steak cooked more than you typically would order because their version of medium well was actually the perfect medium. The steak was cooked just how I liked it and was so good! For sides we ordered the mushrooms, Brussels sprouts, spinach, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, and truffle fries. Everything was so good, my favorite was the Brussels sprouts and Mac n cheese. Service was also pretty good! I liked that there was no order roulette. The servers knew exactly who ordered what which is what I call great service. Dessert was also great! Crème brûlée, chocolate molten cake, bread pudding and I am not sure what the last one was but all tasted amazingggg!!! Back to LB steakhouse for another great business dinner! The staff was attentive, and my water glass never reached empty before being refilled. I'm a water guzzler! Jacquie was our main waitress and worked with me to understand which appetizers were better for sharing so that I could order for my table of 21 people. I wish I had taken pictures of the appetizers The presentation was lovely. We got the calamari that had a delightful sauce in the bottom of the bowl, making it easy to scoop off the top if you didn't want the sauce and on the bottom if you did. We also had the shrimp and, of course bread. Most of my table ordered the scallops or some form of steak Which are pictured in the attachments. Everybody was happy with their order. The scallops were cooked perfectly without being overdone. They had a nice seasoning braise on the top and bottom. read more

Met up with Yelp buddy Harvey for a happy hour meal at LB Steak in San Ramon's City Center. Apparently, the happy hour deals are not a secret the place filled up on the patio and the bar tables with patrons wanting get in. We sat and enjoyed the fresh oysters, calamari and the Wagyu burger. It was nice to see LB pulling in all the new customers with its happy hour promotion. Service was good. They did run out of horseradish for the oysters and probably should have gone across the street to Whole Foods to get some. Plenty of parking. read more

Went here on a Friday night to celebrate my husband's new job. Great ambiance and friendly staff. I made reservations through open table the day before and they had a few time slots open as the holidays have ended. We ordered the tomahawk for two, the brussel sprouts and the mashed potatoes. The steak was so delicious and buttery. It comes with different dipping sauces and salt. The brussel sprouts were great too in size proportion and taste. Their cocktails are strong and tasty. Our waitress was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The only downside from this experience was the food took quite a long time to come out. Our appetizers came out first- bread and lobster bisque. But the wait between the appetizer and the entrees was extremely long, and I can tell other tables were waiting for a while as well. For reference we came in on a Sunday around 1pm, the restaurant wasn't too busy but there was a private event going on in the back room. ***Happy Hour Review*** LB Steak is one of my favorite steakhouses in the Bay Area. I have eaten here a few time and it's always been a great experience, both in terms of food and service. A couple weeks ago, fellow Elite George F. texted me a picture of their happy hour menu. While I am not a drinker, their HH food lineup definitely got me intrigued. So on 08/18/2023, George and I came here to check it out. It wasn't busy when we walked in at around 4:10 pm. After we were greeted by the hostess, we proceeded to grab a table in the bar area. A large screen TV was showing the Giants game. George and I were happy since we are both fans of the Orange and Black. One of the servers came by to take our order. For starters, we got a dozen oysters ($21) and fritto misto ($6) to share. We also each got a wagyu burger with bacon and cheese added ($12). By the time we finished ordering, the place got real busy. It didn't take long for the food to come. The oysters were served with cocktail sauce, vinaigrette, and half a lemon. They were briny and fresh. The fritto misto was okay. Although the calamari and shrimp were fresh, the coating was a bit soggy. The wagyu burger was full size and excellent. It was cooked to my specifications and the meat was juicy and delicious. The accompanied fries were very crispy. Service we received was great. The staff checked on us multiple times to refill our drinks. Great place for happy hour! I will be back for sure. read more

Hands-down, the best steak I've ever tasted in my life! It was our anniversary month, we went restaurant hopping every week! I found LB steakhouse on yelp, of course!! To kick off our evening, we ordered cocktails and the seafood tower. They give you plenty of shrimp, oysters ...plus, the lobster was rather large. The seafood tasted so fresh! For our meal, we ordered the tomahawk steak and the Wagyu steak medium. We accompanied our meal with mushrooms and asparagus. Our food was immaculate. The flavors were just right. Had an Emily in Paris moment when I found out that LB steak house wasn't just serving up big, juicy, hunks of meat.l and salad, but has an extended happy hour menu that can turn you into a classy, sassy, BBB (Boujee B on a Budget)). My most recent visit during the tail end of happy hour which left us scrambling as we urgently ordered their $1.50 oysters. You wouldn't believe how unlucky we got at the bar because it was double cheeked up on Monday... we were able to sit at a high chair with two tables that weee not level with each other. Because of this imperfection in the furniture my glass of water toppled over and spilled ALLL over. . Once we ordered it did feel as though the kitchen was a busy because our orders took forever to come out. We had ordered only just a basket of fries and. 2 dozen oysters and the fries didn't come out until we were about to leave. Our server said that there was a mistake in the kitchen and that they had made us regular fries instead of truffle fries. Don't be fooled like us over this "small" happy hour menu because the portion is huge. My first visit I felt as though the bartender hustled me as I just wanted fries. My two gorlies ordered the Wagyu burger which surprise, surprise just came along with French fries. If the bartender had been more informative and considerate, he should have told us that the burger comes with a side of fries already. If we had known Orr if the server cared (old man with grey hair) enough we wouldn't have ordered a separate order of fries. Since there was so much French fries we ended up not being able to finish and wasted so much food and money. A little discovery here is that when you order the oysters the lemons come with what looks like a mini shower cap over the slice open cafe side which catches the seeds when you're squeezing the lemon juice out and this just about amazed me. The oysters were okay, but the fries had a weird texture snd looked like they came from a McDonald's happy meal. They were fried, but for some reason they were terribly stale and dry. Which made it hard for me to eat because i was also never given a new cup of water. read more

I work near Bishop Ranch and have been wanting to try this steakhouse. For my friend's bday we decided to go. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They let me choose the table a few days earlier and gave me options on where to sit. The restaurant wasn't so busy which I was surprised about because we went on Saturday night. We ordered the 3 bread baskets, 3 onion rings, and 3 truffle fries for the table as well as drinks for everyone. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon and added 2 scallops for $9/each. The LB potato was just okay. The bechalmel and potatoe was a bit cold but I didnt want to send it back because the service was a little slow. Overall I would come back but I don't think I would prefer this place over Flemmings. read more

We all ordered a variety of different things. But my filet mignon was really good. Seafood platter was on point.
