I was pretty excited to see a place in Long Beach offered a $20 pedicure. When I got there, the place was pretty quiet. There was one other person there and they were able to accommodate two pedicures. We looked at the pedicure menu. We chose the deluxe pedicure, which was $30 not bad at all. I brought my own gel polish because I really like the color. The style I like is a black base one layer of blue one layer of pink. They refused to do that even though it was my own product. It is cat eye and they said they could accommodate that which is $10, annoying but ok. I could go do it at home so I just had them do the base coat of Black since they weren't really willing to accommodate. When I go to pay, the total is $90 so $45 each because me and my friend got the same exact thing when I asked them about it they said that it was $15 extra for gel but they never mentioned this during my pedicure and I do not remember seeing it on the menu ....at the end of the day I think it's pretty ridiculous to charge someone $15 for their own product and not mention it at all during the service. They made it a point to mention that the cat eye would be $10 extra which I also thought was kind of ridiculous since again it was my own products. Needless to say it's unfortunate, but I will not be coming back. I felt like they exploited the fact that they were slow to get money out of me and really were not looking to resolve anything. The pedicure very basic lightly scrubbed with a pumice stone. My heels are still hard. She nipped my toe with the clippers. I brought my friend here as like an appetizer for a spa day and the energy really left us feeling disgusting and exploited. Luckily we didn't allow this to fully ruin our day, but it's not a place I would recommend going, UPDATE & Facts - the $15 charge was only communicated when I went to pay - the $5 discount was NEVER communicated. If that is the case the gel polish is and addition $20 not $15. - if I accidentally called another place fine, but I will figure that out and definitely ensure I go there next time instead. read more

This is my go-to nail salon in Long Beach. I just moved out here from New York and every woman knows it's so hard to find a good nail salon/nail tech! It's clean and a very relaxing environment. I love how they keep the door open on nice sunny days :) always so bright and sunny inside! I called ahead on a Saturday morning around 11am to ask if they could take me as a walk in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure and they said yes. I was so glad they took me as I was not very familiar with the area but really needed my nails done! I arrived and they quickly got me into a chair for a pedicure. They were pretty busy and I had to wait a few minutes while they finished up another clients nails but I sat comfortably soaking my feet in a massage chair. No complaints! They have a pretty wide selection of colors available for both gel and regular nail polish. I was super happy to see the variety and decided on some pink shades. The woman who did my pedicure was very attentive and did a great job. I chose a "classic" pedicure and "classic" manicure with gel but you have the option to select other options like the "premium" or "ritz" which come with additional perks like a longer massage, exfoliating treatment and other add ons. I kept it basic and was very pleased! I'm the end I spent about $53 + tip. I'll definitely be back, though I'll be making an appointment ahead of time for my next visit. read more

Cute little nail salon in the heart of The Promenade Long Beach, we came in on a Saturday for mani/ pedi for both hubby and I. They accept walk-ins and we called to make sure that they weren't busy at the moment cause we didn't want to wait. It seemed we got here just in time right before they got really busy. They had huge selections of gel colors, hubby chose glittering light pink and lavender colors for me. It's getting really warm so I wanted something cute but refreshing. We chose deluxe package with sugar scrub and hand / feet masks, also a little massages. Two nail technicians worked on my hands and feet the same time so it didn't take long to get my nails done. And they were very thorough and detailed on removing the extra skin around my nails. The gel colors applying was as perfect as it gets, I really loved them. The interesting thing was that they were playing " Friends" on TV which was one of my favorite TV shows of all time. It certainly made my mani / pedi time more enjoyable for sure! The prices were fair and they didn't ask for cash tips like a lot of nail salons do these days. Hubby usually gets cash for tips before nail salon trips just in case. They hired this young guy who is just SO SO sloppy!! My nails were uneven, the color was uneven and he left a huge glob of glue under my thumb. He rushed and just didn't impress at all! But they fixed the whole thing when I asked them to. One of the ladies came in and redid my nails entirely. Now my nails are much cleaner, color is even and shape is great. Moral of the story is don't be afraid here to tell them you don't like it. They will fix it. It's not like other salons. They are kind here. I just think the new guy felt rushed and wasn't used to doing nails. He's very young and clearly very unskilled. The older gentleman is good, don't confuse him with the young guy. After researching on Yelp, I was able to easily book an appointment with Phoebe by calling one day in advance. I showed her a picture from Pinterest of the nail design I was hoping for and she nailed it (pun intended). I have a regular nail shop but I'm uncomfortable with their current COVID practices, or lack thereof. So I figured it was time to hunt for a new "go-to" nail shop. In short, I was pleased with Pheobe's manicure services. She nicely clipped my cuticles although the water she soaked my hands in was cold. Overall, I was impressed with her ability to recreate an app nail design. I also had a pedicure with a woman's name I never got. She was nice and smiled a lot through her mask, which I thought was kind. Her pedicure wasn't bad but lacked nail shaping via filing or clipping. I opted for the gel pedicure, so I just shaped my own toenails when I got home. I shouldn't of had to but whatever. The shop appeared clean, they used plastic baggies for each pedicure bowl, they didn't wipe or spray the chairs down in-between clients, and they appeared to use clean / sanitized tools from a packet. With tip, I paid $110 for dipped nails and a gel pedicure. I'd return to see if they're consistent. read more

So I've been coming Nails Studio for about 2 years now out of convenience because I live close by, but honestly this place is so inconsistent. I've have good experiences and some bad ones, but this most recent time pushed me to write this review because I think that people should know what I experienced. I went to Phoebe to remove my acrylics and get a gel manicure. To remove my acrylics she used a regular nail cutter to cut down my nails so it was kinda painful, but then she used a nail tip to separate my natural nail from the acrylic. I didn't want to say anything at first because I didn't want to question her, but that was my mistake because she ended up ruining my natural nails. It was super painful and I even told her that it was hurting, but she continued to do wedge the nail tip until she got a phone call and stepped away. I got to look at my nail and I was in shock. My thumb nail was almost completely ripped through the cuticle and my index and middle fingers were so thin that the sides were just ripped off. I have never had this happen to me before and I broke down crying because it was painful and I was in disbelief. Phoebe is a good nails tech, but she's rough and doesn't take the time to care for the health of the nails. She was apologetic and didn't have me pay, but at the same time the damage was done and could have been prevented if she took the time to remove the acrylic with just acetone and foil. Overall, I will not be going back. If you choose to go to Nails Studio, I suggest you be very direct with the person doing you nails and make sure they understand what your nails need. I was happy to find out how affordable their pricing is! Will be back for that reason. I was impressed with how easy it was to choose and pick a color. I asked for a non-gel nail polish which they said wasn't a problem. My color lasted about a week before they started chipping. A week ago I went here for the first time to get a full set and within two days the nails started popping off one by one. One of them came off while I was scratching my back and two just straight up fell off. The rest feel like they're about to come off. Obviously the application was done incorrectly. CAVEAT: One visit only. Beautiful space and kind technicians. They were able to accommodate a same-day appointment on about 90-min notice. Unfortunately, my French manicure began peeling within 24 hours. I don't live close enough to be able to return and ask them to fix it, unfortunately. 24 hours is an unacceptable duration for any polish job, IMO, but given that I upgraded my mani and there was ALSO a $5 charge for French, I would definitely expect more. Pedicure (not French) fared a bit better; lasted 10 before showing slight wear. Disappointed/won't return. read more

I LOVE MY NAILS! I just did my nails today and I was so happy with it that I had to hurry back to my office and write this review. I think this has officially become my go-to nail salon. I found it on yelp and decided to send a message this morning for a same day appointment with Phoebe during my lunch break. The receptionist was nice and responded promptly. When I got there, I was immediately seated. It took Phoebe an hour to do dip nails just in time to fit my lunch schedule. The dip was not thick like other places and she did such a good job of cleaning up the mess and making my nails look so neat and pretty. Awesome service and awesome work! Dare I say that I have found my new go-to nail salon? Nails Studio is located near downtown Long Beach yet not in the heart of it, so you will have to pay for meter parking. The salon is super clean and bright. They have plastic dividers between the clients and the nail artists. I believe they are appointment only right now but I love being able to make an appointment and know that I won't have to wait when I show up. They have SO MANY gel polish colors to choose from so I can't imagine that I would ever get bored. They do a very nice and clean job on your nails and if you want crazy nail art it seems from the photos that they do an awesome job with that too. My only complaint is that the polish doesn't always stay on for as long as I would like it to. I try to get a month out of my gels and after almost 3 weeks they've started coming off but that might be enough time for most people. Just left the salon. The lady that did my nails was very nice as was the receptionist. I didn't quite understand everything my nail tech said however she knew what she was doing and was very efficient. I love that she listened to what I asked for and didn't push too hard to up sell me. My only complaint (if I'd even call it that) is that my nails are juuuuust a little rough on the edges. I will make sure to check this before I leave the shop next time. These aren't ombré nails.
