I have been coming to this nail salon for over 12 years just for Carson. I knew they were overpriced, but I went just for the tech. I am upset that they lied to me and told me he left back to his homeland. I stayed with them the past two months and still paid for their overpriced services but was never satisfied. I wanted a classic french on both sets and they did an exceptional job. The place is a little small but the ladies get to you pretty fast. I had Bea do my hand nails and I wished i remembered who did my pedi but im sure all of them would do exceptional! Together, because I got frenchies and gel polish it came out to be $117 in total for both just for reference! I broke the news to Vivian about how damaging the drill is to the natural nail. She seemed upset and I feel bad but still in the right. When she couldn't upgrade my pedi it seemed to upset her even more. Unfortunately it effected her quality of work and I had to repaint my own nails after. Bad business & what she didn't realize until after is I tip her 28% when I keep my service cost down!! One pet peeve I have is scheduling. When I make an appointment I expect it to be with the person I book with. I expect the scheduler to book appropriately. I feel JB nails lie, they say yes to anytime you ask-regardless if that staff person is open or that the staff takes walkins regardless of my upcoming appointment. I always wait 30 mins then get stuck with some other staff to do part of the service (like my mani)! Again bad service. The most unfortunate part was I was cut and bled in my mani, and my toes felt abused and sore for a week. If you need natural nail care this is not your place. I won't go back again. read more

Came across JB Nails on Yelp and it was perfect bc it's 0.5 miles away from my house ANNND... it's right next to the best ice cream place in LB. I always try to do my research on who's the best at a certain place and Tina kept popping up in other people's reviews. I'm glad I chose her for my mani/pedi bc she's very meticulous and takes her time with you. Her and the receptionist were super nice. Didn't wait long before I sat down with Tina. UPDATE: worst pedicure I've had in my life, I had to ask her to fix it numerous times and she kept saying it's okay like if I'm unsatisfied it's clearly not!!! The price gouging is also insane, I was just here a couple months ago and the service that was $25 is now $50. I've been coming here for years off and on with hardly any complaints, they are super nice and overall efficient. My problem is the sign in sheet, I stopped in today, got there at 3:05 and signed in.. 2 girls & a baby came in 10 minutes later however they signed in UNDER me and wrote 3:00 and were serviced before me. I waited an additional 35 + after them being serviced to even be addressed. If you're going to have customers waiting you need to pay better attention and be more affective in the order of things. Long story short - I had to get my nails done today. My usual go to spot was fully booked today and walk in's was an hour wait and I just didn't have time. So I gave this place a try, closer to my house, so why not. I was wrong. So disappointed. I am a very simple girl, I only ask for gel manicure and a regular pedicure. They are very sloppy and messy and my nails are no where near have the same shape. I treat myself twice a month with a mani and pedi, today was really disappointing. I think my 10 year old could have done a better job. The ladies that work there are really nice, but maybe another profession? Or maybe more practice? Waste of money read more

I wasn't going to write a review but it's been 1 week since I went there and I'm still dealing with the nail injury they caused me. Lisa did my pedicure and both my big toes were BLEEDING. I literally had to tell her to STOP. The pain was Unbearable. Instead of taking responsibility for the pain and injury caused. She said I should stop cutting my nails wrong. I still had to pay, I didn't get gel or regular polish because I needed my toes to heal. ONE WEEK LATER, 1 big toe is ok, the other one is still swollen. This place is excellent. Honestly every time i get my nails done here they are perfect. I think Nicky is the tech i get, shes an older woman whose desk is first on the right, she is incredible. Does absolutely the best acrylic. Cleans up and shapes the nails so well and they last forever! Her craftsmanship is insane. Ive never had nails last as long as when she does them. This place is a hidden gem! Prices are so good. I live in downtown LA and would have to pay 30 dollars more for a set with mediocre quality. I will always come here. 10/10 read more

7/13/18 My friend was in town and she called me asking me to accompany her to a nail salon. Little did I know this salon would be my most despised of all...JB NAils. Attempting not to ruin her excitement I went along and agreed to at least get my nails polished. Well, after seeing how filthy and untidy this salon is kept I opted not to get any polish. I witnessed the salon employees eating their foods on a booth, with feet up, cell phones out. I wondered how you eat a full meal while having toe and fingernails clipped, buffed and dusted in the booth next to you. Also, the floors are caked with dirt and nail debris. I do not see a person designated to clean. From What I understand cleanliness is crucial to avoiding any later health implications related to poorly kept conditions. offering tea and water is just a distraction from the absolute mess they keep in this store. -------------//////----------------------/////---- Welp, rudeness and rushing through a gel soak off leading to the detriment of ones "once healthy" nail bed will get you fired. JB.... YOU'RE FIRED!!! Also please clean your store. I mean really, things must have gotten really bad. It's filthy. Another reason I'll just pay the Kings rands one at SURRENDER SALON where all the products are organic and you are guaranteed to get both the time and product you paid for. More kind tips Folks, look at the floors. And please ( for any of you thinking you might want to come here) stay off your cell phone and WATCH your technician. Some sneaky underhanded tricky things going on while your head is in your "text" book. And lastly, if it's not right DONT PAY. Don't be a jerk when confronting your technician but definitely do not hand over your credit card for something you aren't happy with. It makes no sense to complain about it. This pains me to write this since I've been going here for almost 2 years but I have to give them a one-star rating. I've gotten my nails done for years and I know that sometimes accidents happen and a nick or a cut occurs. I had stopped going to J B Nails for pedicures when twice in a row (with different nail technicians) they caused my big toe to bleed but I still went to them for my gel manicures and never had an issue until this last time. The nail technician cut my finger. Enough that I actually felt it. It wouldn't stop bleeding. It was still bleeding when I went to pay. The woman in charge saw that I was obviously cut she smiled and apologized for it. At this point, I thought she'd offer a discount but she didn't. To be honest, I should have asked or said something other than that it was all right. I've just always experienced good customer service from them and brushed off this experience as a negative one-off. Then, my nail broke. By this time, despite applying antiseptic and Neosporin on it, the cut finger was infected. I went in to repair the broken nail and show them the cut finger. My nail was repaired and my cut was brushed off. The lady in charge wasn't there, so I felt it would be useless to complain. Now, a week and a half later my finger still has a lingering infection (I attached photo) and I'm completely turned off of J B Nails and I won't be returning. read more
