Yikes. Wanted to try somewhere new so I chose this place based on Yelp ratings. They were able to get us last minute appointments for pedicures. The energy in here threw me off as soon as I walked in. I felt like I walked into some weird drama that happened prior so there was gossiping that they were all focused on. Didn't really feel welcomed. Not a hello, how are you? How is the water temperature... I get annoyed when a place rushes and gives me mediocre work. And the worst part is knowing you had to pay a lot of money for it. Amber did my toes and it's pretty messy work. Hoping I found my new go-to nail place! Long Beach Nails & Spa is located in the shopping plaza across from 2nd and PCH, and apparently recently had a big renovation. I didn't get to see what it looked like before, but the end result is a spacious, bright and airy salon that invites you to kick back, relax and get your pamper on. I came before leaving for a tropical vacation to get a fun green mani-pedi, and was able to walk in for an appointment and be accommodated immediately. I forget the names of my nail technicians (sorry!) but both of them were very thorough and did a great job with my hard gel manicure and gel pedicure, respectively. Special shout out to their large comfy massage chairs, which gave me a much needed full back massage, to complete the whole spa experience. Two weeks out from my manicure, I continue to get compliments on my nails, a testament to their work. But My nail lady was very nice so their customer service was good.. but I asked for a gel x fill an only got one color.. my nails are streaky and bumpy, also the filing is not good at all. Also with the fill, none of my nails before were crooked but the way she put the gel builder on now it looks horrible.. there's left over gel color on my cuticles and they also were cut or anything. This was my first time coming here and I made an appointment for 10:30. I had an appointment next door at Sev Laser at 11:30, so I figured a 10:30 appointment would be perfect. I show up, and 6 different people all have appointments for 10:30 and they are already very busy. They take everyone except me first. I wait for 20 minutes before they tell me it'll still be another 15 minutes. I had to leave, and I'm leaving for vacation right after this, so now I won't have my nails done. This place is hit or miss. Depends on the person you get. I've had good and bad experiences. Last experience was horrible she rushed through it didn't clean the dirt under my nails or on the side of my toes so imagine that with a French pedicure. Also they have no respect when you bring your own tools!! I ask them to use mine and then half way into the pedicure I see them trying to use their own tools on me that I already broufht. I had to yell at them not to use it? It's not hard to just use what the clients brings so they feel more comfortable. Cutcile pusher and clippers is all I bring do ite not hard lol. I forget the girls name I went to ther was really good but if you can go to the same person. Also the last person was telling me over and over that you can't leave bail polosh on top lomg bexause it makee you nails white underneath and I have to come every two weeks to get it removed. I don't have money to come every two weeks but I've never heard of plain old regular nail polish not gel making your nails white and ugly. Little kids paint their nails with regular polish and it doesn't mess up their regular nail. My nails are all white now I think from them buffing to hard or fungus and they tried to blame the nail polish!!! I hope it's not fungus. Anyway I will be trying to take care of my natural nail to get it healthy again and won't be back for a while and if I do I won't let them buff hard again . Friendly service, but I really didn't like the result. My biggest problem is my nails are crooked. Additionally, I told the tech I wanted medium length, but she cut them too short without asking me first. The Gel X got on my fingertips and burned my skin in the UV lamp. I know Gel X usually burns, but this was unusually unbearable. I just paid the $70 for crooked nails and a painful experience. Nice people but really bad results. read more

I came in to get my arms and hands waxed. I was quoted $30 up front for both arms and told it would be extra for my hands. After the service, I was told it would be $10 extra for EACH hand. They did a good job, but I wish I had been warned about the full cost ahead of time. I should have confirmed the total, but I didn't expect the hands to be that much. I've been coming here for years, they've never done such a horrible job. I came in asking for a new set of acrylic nails. They talked me into gel x builder (despite me saying I wanted acrylic, I preferred acrylic, I was used to acrylic) they insisted gel x builder was better. then proceeded to create the WORSE set of nails I've ever had in my life. The tips were wrongly attached so there were huge gaps between my nail and the gel builder which they just filled in with more gel creating overly thick nails. And because the tips were too curved it didn't reach the sides of the nail so that part was left exposed then filed down painfully leaving my fingers sore and fragile on the edges. Yes the design was cute but the application was TERRIBLE. When I got home I was nearly in tears so my husband called to say I was returning to have them removed. They said no. They were booked. Told me to come back in two days. No apology, no concern. I went somewhere else to have them removed the same day. Then I went back and requested a refund. They refunded $50 out of $126 ($20 was tip). So here's my last review and it's the last time I'll ever go to this salon. I'm honestly heartbroken. read more

This is the second time to this nail salon and I requested gel x nails and gel pedicure. Megan did my nails and I didn't like how some of my nails of my right hand turn out. The middle nail has some bubbles and not painted enough on the other nail, the side of the nails looks weird and can see it lifted near the cuticle on my right thumb. Amy did a great work on my gel pedicure - I chose the luxury package which was $50 and when I was paying, she told me it was $65 and I asked isn't it $50? she said because of the gel cream too, I don't mind paying the extra $15 but I would have liked if she asked me first if I wanted the gel cream or not instead of finding out at the end. read more
