So relieved to find a new nail salon close to home!!! I kept procrastinating after deciding to break up with my previous (and sloppy, devoid of cheerfulness) nail place ... but this was a great chance to take! Lynn (manicurist) and Lydia (pedicurist) took great care of me with ZERO sloppiness and extremely cheerful and professional chairside manner. This salon is cheerfully lit and all of the employees seem to truly ENJOY each other and their clientele. Breath of fresh air! I WILL be returning and am so relieved that the search for a new nail salon is officially and happily over! Thanks to owner Kathy and her team!!! read more

This is the only review you need to read to tell you everything you need to know about this salon and why you should NOT go here. First, I have tried this salon twice now (so that you don't have to) and have been dissatisfied on both occasions. The second occasion has made me mad enough to write this review. Also, I get my nails done every 3 weeks routinely (always dip on my natural nail, always the same shape) and have never experienced such unprofessional conduct until I tried this salon. --Bad Quality: I asked for extremely natural color and shape. First time I went, the shape was fine but the dip did not last more than 5 days before it started "crumbling"/breaking near the tip. I work so I couldn't get back to the salon to address this and decided to give them one more chance. I gave them this second chance when I went back less than 2 weeks after the first visit. This second visit, the nail tech (Natalie) said she would do an extra layer of dip (total of 3 layers) to make sure it didn't crumble/break as fast (since dip usually lasts me 3 weeks without breaking)--she did the 3 layers and my nails were extremely thick/globby. She fixed the thickness a little bit with the drill but they were still SO much thicker than any other nail salon I've been to (all other salons have done 3 layers and still managed to make them look natural/not so thick/globby). 4 days later, I've already had one of the extremely thick ones break/crumble--I say "crumble" because it is not a clean break like you'd expect, it's literally crumbling off--this means whatever process they are using to dip is not good bc clearly the chemical agents are not activating properly. --Unprofessional Response: I called the second it broke (4 days later on Monday) and asked if they could fix it after work at 5:30 PM (their business hours are listed as being open until 7PM--they told me that I could "come now" (in the middle of my work day) to which, I told them I could not come before 5:30 any week day since I work full time. They told me that they wouldn't be open at 5:30 and that they'd close at 3 today bc they didn't have any more appointments scheduled to make them stay open until 7PM (their listed business hours). They told me that I could come at 5Pm on Thursday to get fixed. I cannot wait that long as the nail is snagging my clothes. They offered no other accommodation despite me explaining that I work M-F and they offered no explanation as to why their publicly listed business hours were not accurate. I would have never chosen this salon had I known that its listed business hours were not accurate since I work and always look for a salon with later availability in case needed. Their response was not only unprofessional, but their tone on the phone was "annoyed" that I would even ask them to fix the crappy job that they did to begin with. I will not be going back and recommend that you look elsewhere if you don't want your dip to crumble or nails to look like thick-globs. read more

I had a terrible experience at a salon I had been going to for years. I came to Solara to have the awful poorly applied set removed and a new set of acrylic pink and white French Tips put on. Lynn was very skilled and gave me a wonderful natural and classy set of nails. Nick (the owner) was very entertaining and talkative which made the two hour session fly by, between his friendly conversation and her gentle hands they completely turned my day around. read more

It's been a while since I've been in because I haven't been out this way recently but I had a lovely experience, once again. I had a hard gel fill with design with Linh and a Lavendar Pedicure with Mary and both of them were so kind and really offering top notch service. The shop is clean and there's a lot of parking near by and I would say their services are reasonably priced and they're certainly transparent about their pricing. I'll be back soon! read more

A very warm welcome and they were able to fit me in asap 10 minutes after I asked for an appointment. The process was fine, it took quite a while and I walked away with several cuts on my fingernails from the harsh pressure and machine. I got a full acrylic set, with the shortest length i've ever had, with only polish. It was $70 before tip, which I find very expensive for what I received. The day after, the polish has obvious brush strokes and bumps that is pretty frustrating given how much time was taken on getting them done. Not sure if I'd go back due to the pricing of average nail work. If it turned out exactly as my reference picture, the price would be understandable. UPDATE: The owner, Nick, reached out to me and wanted to make it right. He offered to fix it for me and was apologetic. I really appreciate the hospitality and communication! read more

The first time I went in there. The service was great. Professional and they did a great job. I was in there last Friday. The ladies did an ok job. One talked a lot - but was very nice. Almost at the end of my service. A short, plump woman came out of the back. She was yelling at the top of her lungs. Laughing and kept shouting. I felt I was at a circus. Very unprofessional and almost scary. Laura. I think . The guy who owns this salon is very nice. But He needs to be that's more often. read more

I am thankful to have found my go-to nail salon after recently moving to Southern California! I appreciate how clean the salon is, and that they're always on time (I've never had to wait past my appointment time like many other places I've been to!). As for dip powder nails, Kathy does a fantastic job! They have an amazing selection of colors to choose from and the dip lasts a long time. I generally like to get my nails done every four weeks, but I once went six weeks and not a single one of them broke, chipped, or lifted! I suggest giving them a call or messaging them on Instagram, you won't regret it! read more

Pros: MANY! Clean, professional setting. Offers water or other beverage of your choosing. Great communication skills and no language barriers to ensure your needs and wants are met. Lots of options. Efficient. Cons: My technician wasnot as great as my husband's. The way they have the chair stations is not ideal for a petite person. My legs couldn't reach as far as needed without me slipping down or me holding myself up, so I couldn't relax. Review of our experience: We came here for a couples mani/pedi. We opted for the callous treatment and paraffin wax pedicure. My husband got "buff and shine" for both pedi and mani, and I got the powder dip mani. We loved the personal service here and being greeted by a friendly and helpful owner who took the time to explain our options. We also loved that it was easy to communicate and ensure all our questions and concerns were understood! It felt more like a hair salon vibe rather than a nail salon vibe and I believe that is an intentional attempt to raise the bar of comfort and customer service experience. I will say my husband's technician was better than mine. Mine was rough and not as thorough. I said "Ouch!" at least once and thought it at least 10 more times! I thought she did a decent job with my dip manicure, but I didn't feel like she spent a lot of time on the manicure part (outside of the dip nails). She used a hot electric tool on my cuticles after the nails were finished which was uncomfortable instead of the traditional manual cuticle trimmers prior to doing my nails, and in the end, I still have noticeable cuticles the next day! If I returned I would request Monique or anyone else so that I wouldn't be in pain. Overall I recommend coming here and trying out their extensive list of mani/pedi services. read more

Solara is one of my favorite nail salons in the Long Beach/Seal Beach area. After moving, I stopped going for a while, only to realize it's worth driving the few extra minutes. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly, and they offer a wide array of services. There hasn't been a time I wasn't completely satisfied with my nails. A reservation is definitely necessary! Highly recommend Solara Nail Bar! The owner and staff were so kind, efficient, and accommodating. The owner explained all my options, which I really appreciated. The hype is real! Met up with my bestie to get our nails done and to just catch up since we live so far from each other. I researched extensively for the best nail salon between us and I'm so happy to have picked this place. It was super easy making a reservation over the phone with Nick. I love how they space out the appointments to make sure there's plenty of time in between. He even sent a reminder text the day before our appt. It was clean and everyone was friendly and so talented. Angel did my pedicure and Tammy did my nails. They both did a fabulous job! My friend had Yvonne for nails and I was so jealous how crazy good they turned out. Our experience was more than we expected for our first visit. Thank you! read more

This was a good visit, we ran into some a couple of ladies that we knew from a previous shop. So they were nice to see plus we knew they did good work. The salon was a little different simply because they don't have massage chairs but it is a nice setting. They offer a wide arrangement of pedicures and manicures which is nice. And if I'm not mistaken it's by appointment only. So they did a great job and we'll be back in 2 weeks for our second visit. read more

Love this place, spectacular service, great location, friendly staff, especially Nick!

The staff is friendly however the quality of the service was something less to be desired. My mom was injured by the lady performing the pedicure and when my mom told her she was hurting her she just laughed. The lady made my mom's toe bleed and didn't offer her any time of help/remedy for it, not even a band aid. I had a dip manicure, it looks ok however it's not what I asked for. I also feel like this place is overpriced specifically for the quality/service. read more

I was in the market for a new nail spot. From start to finish, I would recommend this place over others. Nick was so courteous with reaching out to me with answers I had for him. The experience was top notch. I am picky, but I understand the whole "you get what you pay for" attitude. Other places maybe cheaper, but I think the pricing was very reasonable. And they don't have massage chairs for your neck and back and I am totally fine with that. I don't see the big rave with them chairs anyways. Half of the time they don't work right. The service and care was amazing. I got a Mani Pedi and let me tell you, I felt like a brand new person after walking out of the door. The welcoming attitude and attention I received is going to make me a return client of theirs. read more

This nail salon is very clean and classy. I loved that they used real sinks for pedicures so it can really be cleaned out and can reduce infections and such. I got the regular mani and a coffee pedicure. Couple days later all my nail color is still on and my feet feel so soft. The coffee pedicure started off with a coconut milk soak with hot water. Then it went to removing the dead cuticles. They also used a new technique where they get off the dead skin cells then they smooth it. So it doesn't leave your feet rough. I'm obsessed with this. Then they Did the coffee scrub and massage. Then painted the nails. The only thing that I didn't like as much was that the chairs weren't as comfortable because I felt smooshed to one side where the sink was. Other than that I loved everything about my mani and pedi. read more

Awesome service and great customer service. I'm definitely going back. Found my new nail salon

Solara's emphasis on customer service shines in every employee. I have been going here for over a year and have had all amazing nail technicians! Kathy, Monique, Gabbi, Angel.... Thank you all!! From their unique pedicures to their professional nail art - the Solara family has you covered! Salon is clean, welcoming, and well located. Nick is beyond helpful, and truly cares about every customer. I've tried out half a dozen nail salons in the Seal Beach/Long Beach area, and can hands down say Solara is the best. My nails last for weeks, technicians explain the differences between services (dip vs acrylic), and I always receive compliments on my nail art. I noticed the Solara Nail Bar during construction and hadn't dropped in to check it out until recently while on a girls day out with my niece. We walked in for two mani-pedi's and we were impressed! The facility itself is absolutely beautiful. Everything is shiny and new! The pedicure stations have beautiful seating, pillows, and lovely stainless steel bowls that are disinfected after every use! The lighting is gorgeous and the menu of services is also creative. We were welcomed by the owner who shared his vision for an "out of the box" type of nail bar where services are a grade above what the average nail shop offers. I think that the Solara Nail Bar is absolutely exceeding their goal. I think my number one concern when getting pedicures and manicures is cleanliness. The Solara Nail Bar was absolutely spotless and the owner went into detail about the medical grade sanitizing equipment that is used to ensure customers safety. SOLD SOLD SOLD! So, the place is cute, they're clean, they're SANITIZING everything but how good were they???? They were AWESOME! Our manicure and pedicures were absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to stop in again! read more

This review is long overdue! I have been coming to this salon for close to 2 years now and have always been really happy with my nails. I tried different styles, from gel x extensions to gel and dip nails and they always turn out great. Monique is not only super sweet, she works precisely and has an eye for colors and styles. Whenever I don't know what I want, she has great suggestions and I can completely trust her judgment. Cleanliness is really important to me in a nail salon and this salon is clean & the instruments are sterile. The owners, Nick and Kathy, are really friendly, polite and focused on customer satisfaction. I enjoy the warm & friendly atmosphere of this salon and always look forward to my next visit. read more

I love Solara Nail Bar. This place checks all the boxes for a great experience: Cleanliness Skilled Nail Technicians - no need to mention any names as they are ALL fabulous Professional Offers wide range of Pedicure options Upon arrival you will be greeted by one of the owners who will help curate your experience. The soft lighting and modern decor will certainly relax you and so will the complimentary mimosa or wine (if you are so inclined). The technicians are friendly, accommodating and have always done an excellent job. I'm equally pleased with the clientele the business attracts. I learned one person travels at least 50 miles to have their nails done because they love it so much. That's saying something. That said, there are seldom walk in appointments available so make your appointments and be on time because they are anticipating your arrival and never over book. Thank you Nick and team! read more

The manicurists are always very friendly. I've only gotten pedicures but each lady has given me very good pedicures.

This salon is very cute; the service is quick and efficient. It is well-priced, and the quality of the work is great. I do not frequent nail salons because I have a hard time sitting still, and I don't like the nail filing part. I know I am quirky in that regard. I got a regular manicure and pedicure after getting a gel set at another place a while ago and wanting the gel removed. Everything was very smooth, and the color chosen was perfect. They did an excellent job, and it was quite comfortable the whole time. They have multiple package options with moisturizing add-ons and paraffin wax treatments. They put a lot of things in each of their menu options, and it's very relaxing. The ladies here have very good vibes. I will come here again when I get tired of doing my own nails at home. read more
