I had a terrible experience at a salon I had been going to for years. I came to Solara to have the awful poorly applied set removed and a new set of acrylic pink and white French Tips put on. Lynn was very skilled and gave me a wonderful natural and classy set of nails. I had a hard gel fill with design with Linh and a Lavendar Pedicure with Mary and both of them were so kind and really offering top notch service. A very warm welcome and they were able to fit me in asap 10 minutes after I asked for an appointment. The process was fine, it took quite a while and I walked away with several cuts on my fingernails from the harsh pressure and machine. I got a full acrylic set, with the shortest length i've ever had, with only polish. It was $70 before tip, which I find very expensive for what I received. The day after, the polish has obvious brush strokes and bumps that is pretty frustrating given how much time was taken on getting them done. Not sure if I'd go back due to the pricing of average nail work. If it turned out exactly as my reference picture, the price would be understandable. UPDATE: The owner, Nick, reached out to me and wanted to make it right. He offered to fix it for me and was apologetic. I really appreciate the hospitality and communication! read more

The first time I went in there. The service was great. Professional and they did a great job. I was in there last Friday. The ladies did an ok job. One talked a lot - but was very nice. Almost at the end of my service. A short, plump woman came out of the back. She was yelling at the top of her lungs. Laughing and kept shouting. I felt I was at a circus. I am thankful to have found my go-to nail salon after recently moving to Southern California! I appreciate how clean the salon is, and that they're always on time (I've never had to wait past my appointment time like many other places I've been to!). As for dip powder nails, Kathy does a fantastic job! They have an amazing selection of colors to choose from and the dip lasts a long time. I generally like to get my nails done every four weeks, but I once went six weeks and not a single one of them broke, chipped, or lifted! Efficient. Cons: My technician wasnot as great as my husband's. The way they have the chair stations is not ideal for a petite person. My legs couldn't reach as far as needed without me slipping down or me holding myself up, so I couldn't relax. Review of our experience: We came here for a couples mani/pedi. We opted for the callous treatment and paraffin wax pedicure. My husband got "buff and shine" for both pedi and mani, and I got the powder dip mani. We loved the personal service here and being greeted by a friendly and helpful owner who took the time to explain our options. We also loved that it was easy to communicate and ensure all our questions and concerns were understood! It felt more like a hair salon vibe rather than a nail salon vibe and I believe that is an intentional attempt to raise the bar of comfort and customer service experience. I will say my husband's technician was better than mine. Mine was rough and not as thorough. I said "Ouch!" at least once and thought it at least 10 more times! I thought she did a decent job with my dip manicure, but I didn't feel like she spent a lot of time on the manicure part (outside of the dip nails). She used a hot electric tool on my cuticles after the nails were finished which was uncomfortable instead of the traditional manual cuticle trimmers prior to doing my nails, and in the end, I still have noticeable cuticles the next day! If I returned I would request Monique or anyone else so that I wouldn't be in pain. Overall I recommend coming here and trying out their extensive list of mani/pedi services. read more

The staff is friendly however the quality of the service was something less to be desired. My mom was injured by the lady performing the pedicure and when my mom told her she was hurting her she just laughed. I was in the market for a new nail spot. From start to finish, I would recommend this place over others. Nick was so courteous with reaching out to me with answers I had for him. The experience was top notch. I am picky, but I understand the whole "you get what you pay for" attitude. Other places maybe cheaper, but I think the pricing was very reasonable. And they don't have massage chairs for your neck and back and I am totally fine with that. I don't see the big rave with them chairs anyways. Half of the time they don't work right. This nail salon is very clean and classy. I loved that they used real sinks for pedicures so it can really be cleaned out and can reduce infections and such. I got the regular mani and a coffee pedicure. Couple days later all my nail color is still on and my feet feel so soft. The coffee pedicure started off with a coconut milk soak with hot water. Then it went to removing the dead cuticles. They also used a new technique where they get off the dead skin cells then they smooth it. So it doesn't leave your feet rough. I'm obsessed with this. Then they Did the coffee scrub and massage. Then painted the nails. The only thing that I didn't like as much was that the chairs weren't as comfortable because I felt smooshed to one side where the sink was. I noticed the Solara Nail Bar during construction and hadn't dropped in to check it out until recently while on a girls day out with my niece. We walked in for two mani-pedi's and we were impressed! The facility itself is absolutely beautiful. Everything is shiny and new! The pedicure stations have beautiful seating, pillows, and lovely stainless steel bowls that are disinfected after every use! The lighting is gorgeous and the menu of services is also creative. We were welcomed by the owner who shared his vision for an "out of the box" type of nail bar where services are a grade above what the average nail shop offers. I think that the Solara Nail Bar is absolutely exceeding their goal. I think my number one concern when getting pedicures and manicures is cleanliness. The Solara Nail Bar was absolutely spotless and the owner went into detail about the medical grade sanitizing equipment that is used to ensure customers safety. SOLD SOLD SOLD! I came in here because of all the great reviews! However, I was underwhelmed. I asked for a "blistfull gel pedicure". This included lavender and a 10 minute foot massage. The pedicure price was $40 and I assumed an extra $10 or so for the gel. Boy was I wrong!!! It was $23 extra!!!! That is INSANE! $63 for a gel pedicure that was very below average is just crazy! Not only did she talk my ear off when I was trying to relax, she said "come for your nails and if you don't like you don't come back"! She somehow thought this was hilarious little did she know she certainly manifested me never coming back. She filed my nails crooked and did not even give a 10 minute massage. It was 3 minutes!!! I left just mouth breathing feeling so incredibly bamboozled and generally just ripped off. There was NOTHING special about this place that sets it apart from any other nail salon.
