This is the only review you need to read to tell you everything you need to know about this salon and why you should NOT go here. First, I have tried this salon twice now (so that you don't have to) and have been dissatisfied on both occasions. The second occasion has made me mad enough to write this review. Also, I get my nails done every 3 weeks routinely (always dip on my natural nail, always the same shape) and have never experienced such unprofessional conduct until I tried this salon. --Bad Quality: I asked for extremely natural color and shape. First time I went, the shape was fine but the dip did not last more than 5 days before it started "crumbling"/breaking near the tip. I work so I couldn't get back to the salon to address this and decided to give them one more chance. I gave them this second chance when I went back less than 2 weeks after the first visit. This second visit, the nail tech (Natalie) said she would do an extra layer of dip (total of 3 layers) to make sure it didn't crumble/break as fast (since dip usually lasts me 3 weeks without breaking)--she did the 3 layers and my nails were extremely thick/globby. She fixed the thickness a little bit with the drill but they were still SO much thicker than any other nail salon I've been to (all other salons have done 3 layers and still managed to make them look natural/not so thick/globby). 4 days later, I've already had one of the extremely thick ones break/crumble--I say "crumble" because it is not a clean break like you'd expect, it's literally crumbling off--this means whatever process they are using to dip is not good bc clearly the chemical agents are not activating properly. --Unprofessional Response: I called the second it broke (4 days later on Monday) and asked if they could fix it after work at 5:30 PM (their business hours are listed as being open until 7PM--they told me that I could "come now" (in the middle of my work day) to which, I told them I could not come before 5:30 any week day since I work full time. They told me that they wouldn't be open at 5:30 and that they'd close at 3 today bc they didn't have any more appointments scheduled to make them stay open until 7PM (their listed business hours). They told me that I could come at 5Pm on Thursday to get fixed. I cannot wait that long as the nail is snagging my clothes. They offered no other accommodation despite me explaining that I work M-F and they offered no explanation as to why their publicly listed business hours were not accurate. I would have never chosen this salon had I known that its listed business hours were not accurate since I work and always look for a salon with later availability in case needed. Their response was not only unprofessional, but their tone on the phone was "annoyed" that I would even ask them to fix the crappy job that they did to begin with. I will not be going back and recommend that you look elsewhere if you don't want your dip to crumble or nails to look like thick-globs. read more

A very warm welcome and they were able to fit me in asap 10 minutes after I asked for an appointment. The process was fine, it took quite a while and I walked away with several cuts on my fingernails from the harsh pressure and machine. I got a full acrylic set, with the shortest length i've ever had, with only polish. It was $70 before tip, which I find very expensive for what I received. The day after, the polish has obvious brush strokes and bumps that is pretty frustrating given how much time was taken on getting them done. Not sure if I'd go back due to the pricing of average nail work. If it turned out exactly as my reference picture, the price would be understandable. The first time I went in there. The service was great. Professional and they did a great job. I was in there last Friday. The ladies did an ok job. One talked a lot - but was very nice. Almost at the end of my service. A short, plump woman came out of the back. She was yelling at the top of her lungs. Laughing and kept shouting. I felt I was at a circus. I appreciate how clean the salon is, and that they're always on time (I've never had to wait past my appointment time like many other places I've been to!). I generally like to get my nails done every four weeks, but I once went six weeks and not a single one of them broke, chipped, or lifted! My legs couldn't reach as far as needed without me slipping down or me holding myself up, so I couldn't relax. Review of our experience: We came here for a couples mani/pedi. We opted for the callous treatment and paraffin wax pedicure. My husband got "buff and shine" for both pedi and mani, and I got the powder dip mani. We loved the personal service here and being greeted by a friendly and helpful owner who took the time to explain our options. We also loved that it was easy to communicate and ensure all our questions and concerns were understood! It felt more like a hair salon vibe rather than a nail salon vibe and I believe that is an intentional attempt to raise the bar of comfort and customer service experience. I will say my husband's technician was better than mine. Mine was rough and not as thorough. I said "Ouch!" at least once and thought it at least 10 more times! I thought she did a decent job with my dip manicure, but I didn't feel like she spent a lot of time on the manicure part (outside of the dip nails). She used a hot electric tool on my cuticles after the nails were finished which was uncomfortable instead of the traditional manual cuticle trimmers prior to doing my nails, and in the end, I still have noticeable cuticles the next day! If I returned I would request Monique or anyone else so that I wouldn't be in pain. Overall I recommend coming here and trying out their extensive list of mani/pedi services. read more

My mom was injured by the lady performing the pedicure and when my mom told her she was hurting her she just laughed. The experience was top notch. I am picky, but I understand the whole "you get what you pay for" attitude. Other places maybe cheaper, but I think the pricing was very reasonable. And they don't have massage chairs for your neck and back and I am totally fine with that. I don't see the big rave with them chairs anyways. Half of the time they don't work right. This nail salon is very clean and classy. I loved that they used real sinks for pedicures so it can really be cleaned out and can reduce infections and such. I got the regular mani and a coffee pedicure. Couple days later all my nail color is still on and my feet feel so soft. The coffee pedicure started off with a coconut milk soak with hot water. Then it went to removing the dead cuticles. They also used a new technique where they get off the dead skin cells then they smooth it. So it doesn't leave your feet rough. I'm obsessed with this. Then they Did the coffee scrub and massage. Then painted the nails. The only thing that I didn't like as much was that the chairs weren't as comfortable because I felt smooshed to one side where the sink was. The lighting is gorgeous and the menu of services is also creative. I think that the Solara Nail Bar is absolutely exceeding their goal. I think my number one concern when getting pedicures and manicures is cleanliness.
