Tacos and iced latte

Enjoyed brunch at Lazarus, we sat outside on the picnic tables. It was a great kid friendly outdoor area, and the taco portions were very reasonable.

I usually come here on weekends to get some work done and enjoy a beer. Lazarus has a great laid back vibe, plenty of good beer options, and it's an easy spot to hang out for a while. Their food is pretty decent too, which makes it even better when you want to stay for a bit. Definitely one of my go to spots in Austin.

I loved how much space Lazarus has, they have a great outdoor and indoor set up. There's tons of room without it feeling too empty or distance. Really good beer. We came on a mini brewery tour to check out this spot & Zilker brewery. If you're staying downtown it can be walkable since there is a lot to see on the way over or you can hop on a scooter or uber to head here from downtown. Overall it was a great place to hangout, relax and have a beer.

I'm so excited to have and taste really good beer that I haven't even thought about looking at the menu yet. Being a bit of a hop head I had the fight of Hoppy beers, and not a single one disappointed! Brewery is in a cool space and location in Austin with plenty of indoor seating as well as outdoor and covered. We're just passing through unfortunately, but I'll be picking up a few four packs to go.

An okay brewery with good beer and always out of the vanilla stout. They also serve coffee here all day which explains all the working people laptops. The food here is also not bad. Some items a bit over priced like the tacos. The food selection here felt very limited. Definitely a spot for a quick snack. But even the snack selection didn't have much.

Love the decor in this place. The cozy couch/living room section looked perfect for a small group of peeps. Sunday morning not very busy and they have a ton of seating. Got the Hazel moca latte to go, no food. Drink took about five min or so and it was delightful I'd go back just for this!

Love it at Laz. And I've never once had their beer. I'm there for the happy hour wines and tacos. Loved the chicken tacos, shirmp tacos, tostadas, nachos... really, you can't go wrong. I once went there two days in a row. :) Patio is dog-friendly, they have plenty of water stations for humans and fur babes, and don't forget to grab some salsas that are kept in their salsa fridge. During crawfish season, they have pop-ups.

It seems to be a pretty good spot for a hangout or even for a laptop day (saw a lot of people working although it was past 7 pm). They decorated for Christmas quite a bit which looked really nice. I also appreciate the fact that the music choice for the season was not obnoxious (All I want for Christmas is to not hear "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on every corner). I got a red wine and later got a peppermint hot mocha. Both drinks were really good and I enjoyed both. But I forgot to ask for a decaf but oh well, it's on me. We got two tortas: carne asada and al pastor, both were really good but I think u liked carne asada more. The tacos, in my opinion, are rather overpriced, considering there are a few trucks just walking distance.

A short walk from the hotel. A great place to try a new brew, whether it's coffee or beer. Wine and a small food menu are available. Upon entering, grab a menu order at the counter and have a seat. They will bring your food to you. You can tell it's a local hangout spot, with seating indoors and out, since it's cooler. The outdoor seating area is temporarily closed, along with the space heaters, which unfortunately weren't turned on this evening. Multiple people were trying to turn them on because of the cool temps. I would not recommend the food. I ordered two fish tacos. They were seven dollars apiece, and I could not tell if they were fish, chicken, turkey, or beef. The tacos had no flavor, except for someone throwing as much spice on them as they could. I don't mind spice, but I enjoy flavor beyond the burning heat. I enjoyed the sour-mash beer. Had I known the food was subpar, I would've ordered a second beer and not worried about the food. If you are driving, there isn't much parking available.

Love coming to this spot for a beer or a meal or some breakfast and a matcha! There's a ton of seating and it's a beautiful space. Food comes out pretty quickly after you order at the front. They have one of the best happy hours in Austin and I really enjoy both of their chicken tostadas. Ingredients are always fresh too. Some of their entrees can be a little too lime flavored to me like the quesadilla and the enchiladas but I have friends that love everything. The breakfast torta is awesome if you're looking for something kinda heavy after a night out. Great spot for big groups too.

Here for their 9th anniversary party today, although I've been here many times before. It's super packed, there's live music, the back bar is open (pretty much only opens once a year) with banana, coffee, and hot chocolate flavored stouts. By the time you read this review things will be back to normal, but even when normal, the beers are great and the food is too (I've heard people say Laz has the best tacos in Austin. I don't know about THAT, but they're good.) Come chill here any time.

Ceviche Tostada and Cherry Cider
Movetia S.

I've passed this place for years and finally stopped in tonight after a bike ride to meet friends for drinks. It was 100 degrees today, but they had plenty of misting fans going, sun shade sails, and ice water dispensers to keep everyone comfortable. There was indoor seating available, but we chose to sit in the patio area. I ordered the shrimp ceviche tostada and a cherry cider. The cider was pleasantly sweet without being cloying. (Thanks to the bartender for the recommendation) The tostada was beautifully prepared on a bed of crisp lettuce with a light vinegar dressing, fresh and tasty. The only thing missing was a fork and a little extra spice. This is a great spot to meet friends and just chill. Looking forward to trying the Airport location. Insider tips: Very bike friendly, ride if you can, because parking can be tricky in this area. Want indoor seating? Come early. Ladies, the bathrooms are clean and well stocked.

Amazing food and exceptional service. The street tacos were out of this world. Very friendly staff and really comfortable seating areas.

Lazarus Kids friendly?

Yep it is!

I appreciate your menu, very, very much! But, there's nothing for sissies. Can someone order something like a quesadilla? I want to bring some out-of-towners your way.

Yes they have quesadillas. Food menu all good.

The website says there is a "great wine menu," but that menu is not on the site. What wines are available?

There are pictures here on yelp under "menu". Looks like they rotate like their beers

Does Lazarus have a happy hour?

I don't believe they do.

Are outside food allowed?

Nope! They have a full kitchen at the brewery so outside food is not allowed.

Dogs allowed on patio?

Yup

Do you sell the coffee mugs?

We don't. But we purchase them from Terra Keramik, who makes them all by hand in Switzerland. They are not cheap, but you can order them direct!

Do you happen to sell the red hot sauce you serve on the breakfast tacos? It's amazing...

We agree, it IS amazing! Unfortunately, part of the reason it tastes so good is that we make it every day or two (fresh!). And the reason we do that is you folks eat a lot of it! And since we're working out of a really small kitchen, we don't have… Read more

What's the story with the stained glass on the patio? Who's the woman?

So the stained glass was a commissioned piece created by Sylvia Laks, out of Costa Rica. There's a famous story in the Bible (Luke 7) where Jesus encounters a woman who was a "sinner". Instead of condemning her, she gets commended (for loving him).… Read more

As I was leaving my hotel I bumped into some coworkers outside and mentioned I was heading here for dinner. A person passing by overheard me and stopped to rave about how they're the best tacos you can get in Texas. The speakeasy feel was awesome and relatively easy to find despite this being my first visit to Austin. I had the carne asada tacos and they were delicious. I also ordered a side of chips and salsa but my weak tastebuds embarassingly couldn't handle the spice. Seating was limited but I was carrying out anyways. Everything was seriously delicious, rich, and flavorful. The meat was juicy and tender, and they were very generous with the portions. If all the seats inside are taken inside the restaurant, you can dine in the bar area or outside in the alley. This taco speakeasy spot is so good, we came back the next day with our friends. We will definitely be back in the future!

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. The steak tacos came out pretty hot, fresh from the grill. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk).
