Even though I read a lot of not so nice reviews, I thought I should really give this place a shot. I'm kind of glad I did becus she did a wonderful job! This cute little shop is located in the Sam's Hotdog plaza in Pinole across from Pear Bistro Cafe. The owner works alone so the shop is pretty quiet. She did a wonderful job on my nails and also very reasonable pricing. I paid $33 for a mani & pedi and 2 designs. I definitely will be returning :) The could use more variety of colors tho. Light, neons, matte, pastel, etc. The have a good amount of gel colors too. read more

A few days ago I called to make an appointment and found out there was a change in ownership. Initially I was sad because I've been coming here for about 2 years and I loved Jessica. It was a little weird because my last appointment was literally 3 weeks ago. Anyway, I decided to give them a try. When I showed up it looked like they were still setting up and painting. Decided to check out a new pedi spot in Pinole. I've seen this place twice while picking up food at taqueria Sanchez. The inside is pretty cute and clean which is a big plus for me. The ladies who work there were friendly. The really big plus about this place is their pedi's are only $15.00 and they do a really good job. I have been going to Lavender Nails for over a year to get my gel mani and pedi done. The owner Jessica and her sister Winnie are very skilled and conscientious. They take their time to make sure the job is well done each time. I have not found anyone else in the neighborhood who is as good as they are. It hurts me to see the recent negative reviews on Yelp. Some previous employees might have caused some damage to their reputation. This must be my first review on Yelp. I highly recommend Lavender Nails. Look for Jessica, the owner! I just moved to the area and was looking for a new pedicure spot. Out of the ones i tried this one was my fav! The lady i had was very detailed and took time to work on me. She did everything just how I liked it and all my expectations were met. BUT, i asked for a paraffin wax and she brought over the whole container and asked me to put my feet inside. I quickly declined because when I looked inside there was a few pieces of hair and a lot of stuff floating around, sick !!! Normally other places put the wax in the bags and have you put your feet inside of there. Other than that they do seem really clean. As I was waiting for my toes to dry I saw them deep cleaning the bowls that had been used and sanitized their instruments. So Besides this, I definately will be coming back because everything else was really really good. She did an awesome job! I called and asked if she was available and the lady said she was at 3. I said I would take it. The lady didn't ask my name so I asked if she wanted it. I first came to Lavender's to get my brows done for my high school senior portrait and they did wonderful work waxing and shaping my virgin forehead caterpillars. The person was extremely careful and considerate and was gentle when I wasn't used to the mild discomfort that come with waxing and for the first time. I have brought family and friends to them and we are all very satisfied with the results every time. Very sanitary and I've never broken out or had any irritation afterwards. I don't know about their nail services, but they're the best local place to get your brows done, quick and easy. read more

I stopped in on a Monday around 230. I asked if they would have time for a fill and a pedicure. I was told no they didn't and that I would have to have an appointment. I don't mind that she couldn't see me then but I do have a problem with their window stating "Walk-ins Welcome" if they are, in fact, an appointment only business. read more

I love coming here for nail service. Reasonably price considering I have seen French manicures without the gel polish for $55 in other places and it's in the $20's here. They do a great job. I have had mani-pedi's in the past where I've paid a good amount of money and felt like I could have done a better job. Now here! Happy with what they do! read more

My trip to this salon included leg waxing and I also wanted a pedicure/manicure. The owner didn't speak English so at first she didn't know that I wanted leg waxing. The bed cover had wax on it. Yuck! Then, the woman doing the waxing was rushing so much that I became stressed out. Not a pleasant experience. The key problem, I think was that she was rushing to get to the two waiting customers. She wanted me to wait to do the pedicure/manicure, but I could see it would have taken longer than the 10-15 minutes she was promising. I probably won't return there. read more

Groupon customer-- Gel maincure is only $20 to begin with!! Groupon was $19!! NO deal there. My "gel" manicure lasted 2 days then tip of nails turned black in color!! In terms of service-- BAD! NOT friendly, NO conversation/ how was your day- nothing. No hand massage- lotion, but watched previous paying customer receive! However, she did have time to answer call from lawyer about a car accident. would give NEGATIVE 5 stars, but it is not an option. read more

If I could give a minus star rating I would! I had a very poor experience and I will not return. This shop obviously does not recognize the power of customer service. I purchased a Groupon for 2 gel manicures for $35. I had not had gel polish before. The first manicure was adequate and I left a $5 tip. When I returned a couple of weeks later the first thing I was told was that there was a $5 charge to remove the polish. I was a bit surprised to hear this and asked why this was not indicated in the Groupon...got nowhere and told the manicurist that I would pay it...really had no choice! While the manicurist was working I decided that if I continued to have gel polish and had to pay to have it removed, I would rather not do so. I then told the manicurist that I would just like a regular manicure. I was told that they would not honor the Groupon and that it would be $10....but the posted price for the gel was $20. After going back and forth with I agreed to pay the $15 total, knowing at that point that I was not returning...even though I had another gel manicure due with the Groupon. When I picked out the polish...the manicurist could not open the stuck bottle....which indicates to me they use old polish. When she finally got it open, it was thick and lumpy, but she proceeded. I did not object because I was too through with this place! I removed the polish the next day because it looked bad. The owner/manager knew I was not happy, and proceeded to badger me for the copy of my Groupon...saying they wanted the number in case I complained! Are you kidding me! When I did not give it to her she got quite rude...I explained to her that in my opinion the Groupon should have listed the additional charge and I as a customer would have made an informed decision about the purchase. And yes, I did complained to Groupon! Even though this place is conveniently located for me, there are too many other nail salons and I will not return. Two thumbs down! read more

I've been coming to Lavender Nails for almost two years. Jessica is an excellent nail tech. Recently she started offering jelly pedicures ultimate or ultimate plus ... so well worth treating youself/feet. I selected the Ultimate Plus. It consisted of a peppermint jelly (other aromas to choose are lavender and aloe vera) soak/massage, scrub exfoliate, foot mask and cream massage. I liked that my feet were so soft. Two weeks later I went back for the Pearl Spa which was fabulous. This consisted of a foot soak (no jelly), cleanser, scrub, foot mask and massage cream. I like the fact that these two services were gentle to my sensitive feet and did not contain bad chemicals. The price ranged between $30-35. read more
