Not sure what the hype is about... "best brunch in SF" but it tastes like any other brunch spot and it's nothing special. Big issues with organization though! We had a reservation for 12:15pm on a Wednesday, but when we arrived they just had us wait in the regular waiting line??? Wrote our name and party size down and told us they'd call our name when ready, but people in the line were getting seated ahead of us. We asked again at 1pm about our reservation and they just told us to wait. Finally got seated around 1:10pm, almost an hour after our reservation! What's the point of reservations if they don't even honor it? We met another party in line who said they also had a reservation but also had to wait in the standard line to be seated. Came here for Saturday lunch. Our friends were running late but the hostess was so kind and saved our table, super thankful for that. The interior is quite cute and cozy inside. We first got the iced matcha and iced Ube latte. The drinks themselves were really cute! But for the price, I would say the Ube latte was just okay. The matcha was a bit too sweet. Good to get your first time for the pics. The food overall was tasty! Pricing was a bit on the expensive side but with the burgers and omelette, it was worth it. It was a Tuesday and brunch was calling our name! This place was on the top brunch places on Yelp list and not too far from our hotel so we made the walk to try it out. Now I wish I had a photo but the drinks are absolutely stunning including the non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. Stopped by Lapisara for Saturday brunch and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there was a line outside, but it moved surprisingly fast. We ordered the Crab Omelette and Chili Bomb Basil Omelette, and both were absolutely delicious! If you're used to typical American breakfast fare, this is a refreshing change of pace. The Thai-style preparation brings so much more flavor and complexity to what could be ordinary egg dishes. The Ube Latte came in the most adorable cup - Instagram-worthy for sure and probably a hit with kids. However, it was way too sweet for my taste. This place came up as number one for brunch recommendations near us and we definitely enjoyed our experience. The interior and dishes are very aesthetic and Instagram worthy. As far as dishes: Fried Chicken Benedict - The best dish! Perfectly cooked skin that was crispy and was juicy with every bite. The poached egg was also perfection along with a great hollandaise sauce. Crab Benedict - This was just alright. Crab is always a hit or miss for the benedicts but we wanted to give it a try. The crab was served loose and just didn't provide much texture. I'd say this is a pass especially for the price point. Crab cakes or a fried crab option typically turn out better. Fried Chicken and Waffles - Chicken was similar to benedict but since you don't have sauce other than the syrup for the waffles is doesn't feel as juicy. The waffle was soft and cooked well but nothing special spoke out about this dish. Tom Yum Burrito - Our table agreed this was a good one and definitely worth a try! It comes with chips as a side which helps add in a different texture. Drinks: Ube Latte (Iced) - This was good at the beginning but as expected for brunch places the Ube gets more muted as time goes by. When the ice melts it becomes too watered down. The first time I've come to a restaurant and everyone scraped their plate clean! Not to mention the $25 mimosas got the vibes flowing and we made it to 3 flavours in the 60 minute time frame! The potatoes looked amazing but no seasoning or crispiness to it as you'd expect looking at it. The salad was not dressed and no dressing was offered to go with it. The egg was beautifully cooked. The curry was spot on but it was noted in the menu for being spicy so naturally I braced myself because I know Thai food can get quite spicy. Really solid place to eat on a Sunday night! I went in the later part of the evening (after 7:30pm), and there were plenty of tables. The downside is it was during the heatwave, and there wasn't any AC but same with the rest of SF. I knew this was a cute place for brunch vs more normal plating for dinner. The Holy Chili Bomb Basil (Thai basil chicken) was exactly what I was expecting, although it could have been A LOT spicier. I think the staff has been burned by customers not being able to take the heat because he asked if I didn't want it spicy and seemed cautious about raising the heat level. What a gem! This place has scored a spot in the top 100 brunch places in the US for a reason. First of all the lattes are amazing and are served in the cutest clear mugs. They had the ability to make decaf lattes which is usually so hard to find at restaurants- what a treat! They also had non-dairy milk available with no up charge. I ordered the breakfast sandwich croissant with bacon as my protein. They scramble the eggs with cheddar cheese and then add in small bite sized pieces of bacon. It's the perfect amount of moisture and flavor to go inside a sammy. The croissant was huge! The sandwich held together well which made for a tidier eating experience than I expected. The size of the bacon made it so that you had a taste of bacon in every bite. It was a dream! The fresh fruit that is served with it is top notch - it's one of the best brunch plates I've ever been served. The atmosphere is great and the service of fast. Wow! Love love love this place. Service was amazing, one of the ladies advised us to quickly put in our orders before a table of 17 and made sure we had our food out quickly. The cream on the croffle was super light and airy and strawberries were fresh and sweet. I LOVED the seasoning on huevos rancheros; it was tangy and limey. I'll go ahead and give it five stars, with a caveat. The day after labor day was not crowded. I was seated (solo) immediately, and there were plenty of open tables and about three lovely ladies working the floor. The latte comes in an adorable bear, undoubtedly making the gram with every guest that comes through. Their OJ was one of the best I've had in SF... fresh, but not overly pulpy. And yes, the latte was 'light' but very tasty. The Crab Benedict is a pricy endeavor, but when in SF, you must get crab at least once. The plate is HUGE with a lot of salad (the vinaigrette on it was amazing), potatoes mixed with other root veg (delicious), and the eggs poached perfectly and the special hollandaise was amazing (I asked for an additional side of sauce, as they sauce the eggs rather lightly). Everything was delicious and was almost too *much* food. It gave me fuel for the entire day. However, you will pay a hefty price for the meal. Worth it if you are visiting from out of town, and if you're local it might be the occasional special treat. Or maybe you have some of that sweet Silicon Valley money. Lucky you.
