Really great restaurant! We were seated quickly on a Saturday morning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place does get busy very fast so beware.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, I wouldn't recommend this place for large parties just because of how small it is and how close the seating is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But if you're a small group with a maximum of four people, you're good to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the Nutella latte and while I did like it, eating marshamallows with ice was rather weird. I think I would recommend whipped cream instead. Onto the breakfast, everything came out perfect. The French toast was tosted to perfection. My son loved his nutella pancakes and my husband absolutely devoured his Nutella latte. I highly recommend this place!
Loved my experience at the Heist Restaurant, delicious breakfast and great service. I had the Brekky - scrambled eggs with chorizo, seasoned perfectly. Met the owner, Matt, who takes his restaurant VERY seriously. They got it down, from the beginning of your experience to the end. Can't wait to come back.
I came here for Saturday brunch with a group of friends, and we got seated immediately. I ordered a captain crunch breakfast burrito with avocado. I really enjoyed how flavorful and spicy the chorizo and sauces were. However, I prefer crispy potatoes in my burrito, and these were very soft and mushy. Service could've been better. We got handed the check before I was even halfway done with my burrito. I felt very rushed for no reason, as the restaurant was half empty at the time. Overall, I'd say the breakfast burrito here was pretty decent but not worth going out of your way for if you're not in this neighborhood already.
I love a good breakfast burrito, so when I saw Heist on social media, I knew I had to try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is definitely cozy with mostly indoor seating and a few tables outside, but my party of 2 was able to get seated immediately when we showed up on a Saturday just before noon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Captain Crunch and Slinger burritos to share, and both were so good! The scrambled eggs were so soft and fluffy, and the home fries were elite. Both proteins were super flavorful as well, though I think the chorizo was slightly saltier because of the light spice. The sauce on the side was so good too - I ended up taking 1/3 of my burrito home, and it was so nice that they automatically packed a sauce container for me. We also each ordered an iced americano, which was light and smooth but nothing to write home about. Our server was friendly and attentive, and despite the constant turnover, we never felt rushed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is a bit small with tables placed close to each other, but it still feels pretty open with the high ceilings, plants, and sunlight shining in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Such a great neighborhood spot for brunch - will definitely be back!

Definitely recommend getting there early. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat inside, and the space was bright and airy with a really welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's also outdoor seating available, which looked great for a sunny day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Heist Platter to share. I'm not usually a big breakfast person, but everything was absolutely delicious. Even splitting it, I left feeling completely full. The portions were generous and the flavors were on point. The French toast with the topping was not too sweet, but still delicious. My friend, who is a serious cold brew fan, ordered their cold brew and said it was really good. High praise coming from someone who drinks it all the time. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, and worth the visit. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes on the menu.
This is a terrific breakfast/lunch restaurant when in San Francisco. Small, but mighty. Lots of choices for pancakes, burritos and other breakfast dishes. I had the Drea's Burrito...very yummy. I do need to warn you that the aioli is very spicy order on the side if you are questioning. Our service was excellent! Everyone was making sure we were happy. The food came out quickly, for our party of 5. Cute, cozy space. Interesting furniture. Welcoming and inviting. I heartily recommend!
We came here because this place is supposed to be very highly rated and I could definitely see why. The service was really good. Our waiter was really warm and friendly and was always nearby checking on us. The food also came out really fast as well, which was good because we were both catching flights that day. The food was definitely good. I will say some of the flavors were not my preference though. For example, I don't really like when my pancakes taste sweet. I prefer them to really not have a sweet taste at all before I add syrup and their pancakes were definitely noticeably sweet, which isn't my preference, but I'm sure plenty of people like them that way and they were definitely cooked very well. It's just not my preference. I also ordered the chorizo as one of my sides, which isn't a usual choice for me, but I wanted to try something different and just a heads up... It is very spicy. It almost tasted like there were literally habanero peppers blended inside the chorizo because it was hot and that kind of threw me off for a breakfast meal but again it wasn't bad at all. It was actually good just not really my preference. I got the scrambled eggs with cheese though and those were really good and overall, I just enjoyed my meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked the decorations and I would definitely suggest this place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Flight at SFO got cancelled and we were looking for a breakfast spot that was open early in the morning and thank god it was this one. Service was wonderful, our server was very attentive and welcoming and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the environment was very peaceful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the harvest scrambled and it was just the right amount of food to eat without feeling overly full. Will definitely come back again
Definitely a hidden gem. Get the Heist platter or w/e it's called, it is incredible and worth the money!! Their espresso drinks are on point, their menu was formulated with a complete thought, and the art on their walls is gorgeous and gets you in breakfast mode. This may turn out to be my new SF breakfast spot as it is quite near the hotel I frequent. Give it a whirl and enjoy the berry butter on the decadent French toast. Yum. Oh, incredible service, too.

What a cute little place that I found in my hunt for gluten free breakfast!!! I was in the city for a morning and stopped by to try their gluten free pancakes... OMG I am so glad I made this my first stop of the day! It was pretty empty as it was 715 so I was seated right away - the interior was super cute, plants and clean lines. The staff was all friendly and great. They brought me water and asked if I wanted a coffee, I passed as I was heading to my favorite coffee spot later (only allowed one a day!) so I sipped my water as I checked out the menu. I ordered the gluten free pancakes with the fruit compote and butter and sat back to enjoy the quiet, peaceful environment. My order arrived quickly and I dove right in - they were light, and fluffy and the fruit compote was perfectly fresh - I was so in heaven sitting and savoring every bite in this cute place. I will be back when I am in the city again for sure read more
Clean, minimalist interior with a nice, relaxed vibe. I sat at the bar, which is perfect for a quick solo breakfast. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the breakfast burrito. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting. Overall, I'd say it was just... mid. It's a good spot if you're looking for a quick breakfast or brunch, especially if you're dining alone. Just keep your expectations reasonable when it comes to the taste of the food read more

Right around the corner from Hotel Adagio, Heist has amazing fast and friendly service, and delicious gluten free options. Brunch served every day. Great for solo diners or with a group. Thank you Heist for starting my mornings off right! read more
Amazing breakfast! It was perfect. I got the Heist plate (lots of food): Egg, pancake, home fried (crispy goodness), secret sauce, toast and homemade chorizo patties (has a little kick to it). Can't wait for my next visit!!! read more

4.5 STARS Are you looking for an aesthetic brunch? With maximalist decor, dusty faux blooms, and glowing neon signs. Plates with decorative orchids and cotton candy crowns. Welp, Heist isn't it. BUT, if you're looking for modern, elevated diner fare and a bomb breakfast burrito, Heist IS it. Opening in late 2020, Heist has been on my list to go to but I hate waiting for brunch. Pass forward 4.5 years, the burners are out of town - the perfect opportunity to visit with no wait and easier street parking! Heist offers takeout (online orders available), indoor dining, and outdoor dining (parklet + sidewalk tables). FYI, they no longer have umbrellas for shade. It was a rare 80 degrees that day. =/ M E N U Twenty item menu: breakfast burritos, savory breakfast plates, sweets (pancakes + french toast), salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Tea, coffee, and non-caffeinated drinks available. No mandates included in bill. F O O D * Spicy Captain Crunch Burrito: Soft scrambled eggs, home potatoes, cheese, bacon, house-made spicy chorizo, secret sauce ($17.95) - Add avocado (+$3) - Add side of secret sauce (+$2) IMO, one of the best breakfast burritos in the city with great flavors and textures. Fluffy eggs with a generous layer of richly spiced chorizo (not too salty), melty cheese, crispy bacon, hearty home potatoes, and buttery avocados. It's wrapped in a satisfyingly chewy flour tortilla that's griddled for durability and extra flavor. Hearty but not heavy or greasy. The secret sauce (aioli) along with their house hot sauce added creamy, fiery tang. * The Heist: Three scrambled eggs w/cheese, home potatoes, secret sauce, toast ($26.95) - Choice of house chorizo, house chicken sausage, or bacon - Choice of buttermilk pancake or french toast - Add avocado (+$4) + bacon (+$4) Not my order but I tasted the chicken sausage which I didn't care for. I like bold flavors but the herbs/seasoning were overpowering. I also tried the french toast which was great. The brioche was soft and fluffy on the inside with a nice crisp exterior. Buttery, custardy flavor with the tang of the berry compound butter cutting through the richness. S E R V I C E Fantastic service from the owner (?), our server, Allie, and another gentleman (didn't catch his name). As soon as we sat down, they rushed over with water and offered TT some. Since the sun was beating down on us, I appreciate that we received our order in about 5-6 minutes. A M B I A N C E Cozy, minimalist space with lots of natural light. There's 10 small tables, counter seating, a handful of sidewalk tables, and a small parklet. One restroom so expect a wait. It would have been cool if they added "Heist" movie themed wallpaper in the restroom. Set It Off, baby! P A R K I N G Street parking is usually rough but since the burners were out of town, we found parking on the block. Overall, Heist serves up a bomb breakfast burrito with great hospitality and fast service. i absolutely love the breakfast platter here but i do think there's a bit of inconsistency in the quality of everything. sometimes the bread is super hard/crunchy and sometimes the potatoes are overcooked/dark. but the eggs are perfect every time and i love how thick the french toast is. the meat breakfast burritos look delicious but the veggie breakfast burrito i got one time had completely uncooked spinach wrapped it in which is not my preference. would recommend the platter over the burritos. come before 10 or after 12 to avoid the wait! read more

Solid vegan breakfast burrito, fast quick and friendly service, and was very prompt and efficient! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place/decor is a little too plain and sterile for my tastes,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and while the burrito was really tasty, it was missing something "homey" that I can't quite but my finger on. For $32 for a solo person, I just would have liked a bit more. read more
Came around 7:45am. A bit after opening. There were a few patrons already inside. When I entered they sat me down right away and brought water over to me. Gave me sometime to review the menu. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and the captain crunch breakfast burrito(around$17) added avocado (+$3) The burrito was filling and was a good size. The potato inside is a bit large so if you enjoy potatoes this will be great for you. I don't feel like it was very spicy until adding the hot sauce onto the burrito. Great spot for breakfast. The interior of the restaurant was very clean. read more
I need to update my review. I've been coming here for years for their Captain Crunch burrito. It's one of if not the best breakfast burritos in SF! The eggs are cheesy, the chorizo is fresh and spicy, and the proportions are perfect. The portions are also very large. The cochata (horchata cold brew) is a must-have, but they have other specialty lattes too. I almost always get the captain crunch but recently tried the breakfast plate with sausage. Like their house made chorizo, the sausage was delicious, fresh, had unique spices, and was a large amount. Their eggs were buttery and creamy--why don't mine taste like that when I cook at home? Service is very nice and they handle crowds well. Expect a line and because of the location (near Union Square), expect tourists! Customers skew families, young people, tourists, and students. The interior is light and airy. It's cozy inside and they have a few small outdoor tables as well. I keep coming back! read more

Fits about 30 people or so and some outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Quite popular on weekends for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have some very cool drinks- including a horchata and a custom Cochata. Never seen that. Prices are a bit premium for $20 or so and a $5 Coke. I ended up trying the Slinger burrito and it was very good! Enjoyed the eggs and the chicken sausage. The horchata wasn't overly sweet either so it was perfect. read more

The breakfast burritos here are so amazing!! I came on a weekday during lunch and it was pretty packed but no wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is really cute and bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The breakfast burrito was incredibly savory and had the perfect blend of meat, potatos, egg, and melted cheese. The salsa it came with is a bit on spicy side but gave it a nice kick!! Also ordered the avocado toast for a healthier option and it was yummy as well. Food came out pretty fast for how busy the were and service is good. read more
Heist is a highly hyped breakfast spot in SF, but unfortunately my experience fell well below expectations. We were seated immediately and ordered quickly, but then the wait for our food was frustratingly long. While other tables received their meals, we waited about 30 minutes before our server confusingly brought the check and asked if we were ready to pay -- assuming we had already eaten. After clarifying that we hadn't received our food, it took another 20 minutes for the dishes to arrive. Waiting nearly 60 minutes for breakfast in a small venue without any acknowledgment or offer to make up for the delay was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Captain Crunch burrito, and I'd rate it a 4/10. It was very basic -- just eggs, potatoes, and chorizo -- with none of the flavor punch I was expecting from all the hype. The name "Captain Crunch" also felt misleading, as there was zero crunch. Overall, it tasted like something anyone could make at home. My girlfriend got the Heist platter, which was better, earning a 7/10 overall. The French toast with berry compound butter was the standout at 8/10. The potatoes were decent but could have been crispier. The chicken sausage started strong but quickly became overly salty and spiced to the point it was hard to enjoy on its own. The eggs were just eggs -- nothing special. Overall: I really wanted to like Heist given all the hype, but the combination of extremely slow and confusing service and disappointing food means I won't be returning. While the French toast was tasty and the platter had a few redeeming moments, the burrito and overall experience left a lot to be desired. read more

Small breakfast place with great food and friendly service. The inside is bright and welcoming with cute wall art featuring breakfast items. My harvest scramble was delicious. I loved the sautéed seasonal market veggies and the soft scrambled eggs. The home potatoes were incredible. So crispy and so good with the secret sauce. I'd definitely return next time I'm on the area. read more

My friend was visiting (she's vegan) and found this place for breakfast! (My burrito was NOT vegan but hers was) & the ginger lemonade + horchata latte was SO REFRESHING! Not too long of a wait on a Sunday. read more
The hype around this place is actually real. On a weekend there's a high chance of a line to eat at Heist, and for good reason. Even though breakfast food can be pretty simple, Heist manages to take it to the next level. I think these were the fluffiest cheesy eggs I've had in my life. They manage to get the perfect crisp on their potatoes with a pillowy softness on the inside. And to top it all off, their spicy sauce is a must. I also got an iced mocha which was pretty refreshing on a warm sunny day. Perfect hangover food speaking from experience. The service was relatively quick especially considering how busy they are. Definitely worth the wait. read more

The restaurant itself is a small space but they move fast. We got seated pretty quickly at 12pm. "The burger" - 6/10 The bread was dry and crumbly. Missing more sauce-in the burger- to give it a good flavor. Overall the burger was okay. The potatoes were phenomenal! The sauce in the side was perfect, not too spicy. "Heist Platter" - 10/10 The eggs have great flavor. The potatoes were nice and crisp! Bacon was salty and perfectly crispy. The star was the French toast. It was the best I've ever had. So soft and delicious. Would sell my 1st child for another slice! read more
Heist is a gem in the Bay! Located within easy walking distance from Union Square - this is your next brunch spot to try! I got the Harvest Scrambled Plate - the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked (crispy) to perfection. Highly recommend the harvest plate - came with a delicious mix of seasonal veggies (asparagus, squash, mushrooms, purple carrots) sprinkled with feta cheese My partner got the Brekky Plate with the homemade chicken sausage - she could not stop saying "yum" to the chicken sausage! The couple I was with got the breakfast burritos and also said they were delicious You really can't go wrong with anything! known for their breakfast burritos, their menu offers a variety of those, in addition to other items and specialty lattes. we got the captain crunch ($16.25) and drea's ($14.95) breakfast burritos--I liked the drea's more because the captain crunch was too salty and had too little of an egg to chorizo ratio. I wish the burritos had some crunch in them. we also tried the nutella latte ($6.95) and it was pretty good, not too sweet, the linea coffee roast was a solid base. read more

The sweet potato fries were DELICIOUS! Their house coffee was also phenomenallllll!! The vegan burrito was very starch-heavy and needed more salt and maybe some more flavor (it said it came with pickled onions but I didn't see any). The regular burrito was good. Overall food could have used more salt, but the presentation was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a little packed so it felt kind of herd-like and was super loud,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the customer service was still pretty good. Worth the price in my opinion. read more
Did a quick yelp search of what was in the area for breakfast and decided to come here based on the rave reviews. Quick and friendly service, lots of space on the inside with high ceilings and lots of natural light. My oatmilk caramel latte was great, not too sweet but had a lot of caramel flavor and my sister said her chai was good as well. Loved the house made hot sauce they had to accompany the Captain crunch burrito. The burrito was extremely filling, with a good balance of chorizo, bacon, egg and crunchy roast potatoes. read more

Oh boy... can I rave about the chicken sausage!? They were so flavorful. As a first timer, I got the "best of" called The Heist platter for breakfast with an iced Nutella latte. No regrets. read more
