Very good hole-in-the-wall lunch spot near the Giants ballpark and a few offices in South Beach/South Park, SF. I loved chatting with the older gentleman owner who took orders and handled preparing the food. He was chatty and friendly even though the staff who usually is there to help him was absent! He handled the lunch rush well. I enjoyed his housemade baklava and my chicken banh mi. Disappointed to say the least. I ordered a falafel wrap and was looking forward to eating it for lunch. However they called me to let me know they were all out of them and were going to send me a replacement caprese sandwich. Wait, what? I was bummed and caprese wasn't even closed to what I ordered so I asked them if I could just do a chicken ceasar wrap instead so they gave me one. I got my order and was ready to eat it for lunch. It was long and skinny so I was a little skeptical on eating it since I just knew it was going to fall apart. Sure enough, after my first bite, the whole thing fell apart. I had ended up throwing away the tortilla and just eating the contents like a salad. It's a two stars from me.. Oh well! read more

The menu is extensive, with sandwiches, soups, salads, plates, and even dessert, all at super reasonable prices. I had the pastrami sandwich with cheese. Make sure to get the cheese! The melty cheese adds a delicious layer of creaminess to the pastrami. I don't know what bread this is, but it's amazing. Slight crunch on the outside, but so fluffy on the inside. Tastes really good toasted the next day in the air fryer too. We also had the soup of the day was a chicken rice soup, a huge bowl with lots of veggies and a thick heartiness. Came with 3 pieces of that delicious bread. My friend got the caprese sandwich, which also tasted super fresh. Was looking for a place to grab lunch and found this on Yelp. There aren't a lot of signs or visual markers that stand out, so it can be easy to walk by like I did while looking for it. The menu is propped up along the wall near the front entrance. The service was quick, and although the man, who I assume is the owner, isn't a man of many words, he wasn't rude or anything in the slightest. The interior decor is lacking, and there isn't really any seating, but the looks did not reflect the food at all. I ordered the NY Hot Pastrami sandwich, and a Roasted Red Pepper Soup. The pastrami sandwich was amazing. The meat was incredibly tender, wasn't too salty, and it was on a soft bun. They provided some pickle slices that went really well with the sandwich too. The soup menu looks like it changes daily. I got the Roasted Red Pepper Soup and it was so flavorful and smooth. This will probably be my new normal lunch spot whenever I'm in the area. I work in the area and go here often. The kind gentleman makes tasty, fresh meals with quality ingredients. The servings are large and good value compared to other places in the area. Do keep in mind that this is more of a grab n go lunch spot, so don't expect cute decor or indoor seating. (There are a few tables outside) My favorite item is the rib eye sandwich, but their pastrami and Korean pork items are also solid. read more

It looks like a canteen erected to serve temporary residents, with a menu consisting of cardboard posters leaning against the entrance wall. The chef and owner is the sweetest older gentleman and loves to chat and get to know you. Seating is a bit sparse but most people get food to go. We ordered the French toast and pastrami sandwich and everything came nice and hot! The pastrami sandwich was so good, the cheese perfectly melted and the perfect amount of mustard and the pastrami was oh soo yummy! My kids kept asking me for more bites of it and they are usually picky eaters. The French toast was also very good. Big portions and came with a bowl of mixed fruits which went nicely together. The owner was so sweet and gifted my kids cookies. Recommend this place, everyone leaves full and happy. They have seating outside but we enjoyed eating indoors and people watching.
