We ordered 3 subs and a soup. Everything was good. I kinda wish we stopped here just before the flight out because it was so much better than the options at the airport!
I was here on Friday last week with my sisters for a day in SF en route to the SF Museum of Modern Art for the Yayoi Kusama exhibit event. We decided to have a breakfast part 2 here. My older sister and I got the bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes, onions and capers, one on a cheese bagel and another on a plain bagel. I can't remember what my younger sister got, but the food here was great. Everything about this place was great, including the service, the workers there, and the food. I hope to come back here soon next time I'm in SF.
12.12.2024. Breakfast sandwich with ham. 8.96. Food came out really fast which I appreciated, so a good place to stop by on your way into work. I got the cheese bagel with my breakfast sandwich. Pretty generous with the ham and it was very cheesy. But overall a little dry. It could definitely benefit from some kind of sauce or salsa.
A nice stop while walking around. My husband an I both ordered bagel sandwiches, but unfortunately the bagels were switched. We didn't ask to have them remade, but it was a bit disappointing. They had a decent amount of toppings. Small inside, but it had some seating. I didn't see a public restroom.
I've been going to Working Girls for about 5 years. It's the best sandwich spot in downtown San Francisco. They have a huge selection of sandwiches and salads. Everything is fresh and tasty. The gentleman at the register has a memory like an elephant. And he is super kind and just a great guy. If you find yourself near Kearney, give Working Girls a try. You can order online if you are having one of those important meetings with a client. And they will deliver too. Matt says check Working Girls out. They have three locations.

Loaded with the freshest ingredients, non of the greens were wilted. Pretty much a whole pear, walnuts, and the perfect amount of cheese. A whole rainbow of antioxidants. Honestly this salad was easily enough for 2-3 people. I had it the next day as well. Great value for a gourmet salad.
I really wanted to like this place more, given its popularity (both on Yelp and in-person). But the sandwich competition in town now is pretty strong, so my expectations were higher. Their meatloaf sandwich was decent, but the other two were pretty meh. Italian Sub: Their Italian sub is just two meats, ham and salami. They disclose this on the menu, so it wasn't a surprise. But it just doesn't feel as a exciting as Italian subs from other places (especially in nearby North Beach) which use more types of meat, with a slant towards imported Italian meats. The ham was a bit too thick cut and seemed like Safeway-quality. House Made Meatloaf Sandwich: My favorite sandwich of the ones I tried. The meatloaf was full of meaty flavor with some veggies in the mix too. If I was having meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, this wouldn't be meaty/dense enough for me. But on a sandwich, the somewhat diluted texture works really well. Spicy Thai Chicken Breast Sandwich: The chicken breast was unseasoned and a bit dry. The peanut sauce helped liven it up a bit, but the spice profile was kinda mild. So it tasted mostly like peanut butter with a little coconut milk, but none of the zing of satay. The cucumber and red onions worked well as a veggie choice.

Past orders: - Spicy Cajun Bowl -- 5/5 -- bomb salad with flavorful meat - Spicy Cajun Sandwich -- 5/5 -- flavorful sandwich. Bread can make it dry. - Italian Sub - 5/5 - tons of meat! - Red Snapper Sandwich -- 3/5 -- fish tasted pre-frozen and there wasn't much in it. Other pics look much better than what we got.
I was in need of a coffee and possibly something better than my oatmeal I packed. I walked over to Working Girls' Cafe and there was no line. I was greeted, ordered, and my items were ready in a flash. I got a large coffee and a breakfast sandwich #1 on French bread. I forgot to take a picture of my sandwich but I will say it was so good! This was not a wimpy sandwich and it kept me full most of the day. It was also a good deal for downtown. A sandwich and coffee for under $10 is a deal! I'll be back again to try something new.

Stuck looking for a good place to catch something to eat and drink while we wait for our visa applications. My husband had a protein bowl yummy ! I had an iced mocha . Fantastic stuff and all very fresh!!
This is a great little "hole in the wall" deli. It's right in the heart of the financial district, very close to the Dragon Gate. They are very quick and efficient. They originally made my sandwich incorrectly and were very quick to correct and so nice about the whole thing. The sandwich was delicious and very filling. They are a really good size and I easily have a second meal. I also got a chai latte that was very nice. It seems they have a lot of regulars and they work to remember them, asking about their day and checking in on them. The only downside is that there is no public restroom on the premises. Otherwise, it's a really nice little place.
Good breakfast place with tables in back as well as window counter seating. Had bagel and cream cheese, bear claw and peanut butter cookie. Good pastries, especially the bear claw, and reasonable prices at $4-4.75. Only complaint is they don't open till 8 am which we didn't know when showing up before that the next day. Seems a bit strange for a breakfast place to open so late on weekday mornings. read more
This doesn't really need to happen early on a Friday morning, but looking through my reviews, it didn't seem fair for Working Girls' Cafe to share a four star rating with some truly excellent restaurants that could be a tweak away from five stars. Ultimately, this salad could be recreated at a half-decent salad bar and is pretty crummy bang for buck. It's a mountain of greens with a passable dressing and it's the exact meal that is too easy to recreate at home to justify the expense. Ratios, flavor and price point all need to be adjusted. read more
Wednesday, 11:30am I wandered off course from Union Square & ended up on busy Kearny Street in the Financial District. Working Girl Cafe on the corner. Ok, so there's 2 working men at the counter, whatever, gender is merely a construct in San Francisco. Nothing fancy here, but it's clean & cheerful. Total fail in ordering. I came in and stated I wanted Avocado Toast. What I got was a #2 Breakfast Melt with bacon, avocado on wheat toast. It was delicious, but will not make it into my now 70 + reviews of avocado toast. The cafe has a steady stream of regulars, probably from the surrounding office buildings & shops. Super friendly & fast service. A lot of grab-'n-go here, but they do have 5 cafe tables & a counter. Nobody lingering over a coffee staring at their laptop. These customers have places to go. Steady stream of cars outside, clanging metal containers in the kitchen. This place will keep your adrenaline running. If you're a tourist, this is a great place to avoid the pricey hotel food. I would return for the friendly greeting & being called awesome. This review is low because of sanitary/COVID precaution concerns and because chicken is dry: I went to WGC today to grab a salad for lunch. Their salads are large, flavorful, and filling. I definitely prefer these salads to the Mixt across the street, where in the past I was served raw chicken and also the flavors are bland. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken (which is an extra $3). As I was waiting for my salad, the boss/owner (the staff referred to him as such) walked in with his daughter. Neither of them were wearing masks. He proceeded to the *back* where the prep line is and hugged each of the staff workers, wishing them a Happy New Year, all while remaining without a mask. He finally approached the counter and asked the cashier for a mask, and then put it on. I was shocked at his behavior, especially with the omicron surge and SF DPH issuing a mandate for masks to be worn indoors. The fact that the boss doesn't seem to care to keep his face covered makes me concerned about the hygiene of the business, and especially for my salad since it was being prepared as he went by the line prep. Today's chicken was also extremely dry. I definitely regret choosing WGC for lunch today. read more

My boyfriend and I found this breakfast place while in our hotel room and liked the reviews about this place so far, so we decided to come for breakfast. Found parking in a garage about a block away, the cafe is small but very open with its windows. It's calm and clean here. The prices were a fair deal and I really liked my cappuccino and bacon, avocado, and tomato toast. It was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed his hot chocolate and toast as well. The man in front was cool and patient with us telling us which was good for breakfast then lunch if we decide to come back same day. read more

I love this place! I'm so glad they were able to stay open after lockdown last year. The staff is super friendly and always remembers my order (favorite is the chipotle salad). Holy cow! I don't remember the last time I got this excited over a sandwich. I just started working a block away from here, so I was recommended to check this place out. I ordered the blackened red snapper sandwich and it was amazing!! The fish was fresh, the chili-lime salsa had the perfect amount of spice, the spring greens gave a nice crunch, and the bread was toasty. A generous portion, too! The service is also quick and the people working there seemed very nice. I'll definitely keep coming back here for lunch! read more

I've stopped by here twice for lunch. It's super close to my work and they a huge menu. They have a wide selection of sandwiches and salads. I got the chicken pesto sandwich. It was super warm when I got it and tasted great. The sandwiches here are big and great for lunch. The place is pretty small, with very few chairs. I like that this place is quick and has lots of options. I definitely plan to come back to grab lunch here. read more
Working Girls' Cafe seems to be a popular breakfast and lunch spot in SoMA and I can understand why -- because their breakfast sandwiches are amazeballs! In addition to breakfast sandwiches and bagels, they also serve specialty lunch and deli sandwiches, soups, salads and protein bowls. I ordered the #2 with turkey on a jalapeno bagel. The sandwich was huge, but overall it was delicious because the bagel was toasted perfectly and they were very generous on the cheese! Staff was friendly and the line moved by quickly. The cafe itself is small and has about 10 seats, both inside and outside. read more

Had the meatloaf sandwich here and it was really tasty. Super friendly service and fast without rushing the customer. Definitely want to try more of their selections as they have a diverse menu of breakfast and lunch items. Pro tip: they don't do steel cut oatmeal on weekends. read more
Locally owned cafe right by work with great food and affordable prices. Truly thought I was dreaming when I found this place on Yelp in dire need of a bagel sandwich. No line on a Friday morning, and service was great. The employee at the register (owner?) was incredibly polite and attentive, which I really appreciated. They have a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches, as well as packaged foods and drinks to go. A bagel egg and cheese sandwich cost me $5.40 and was delicious. read more
Today I was getting a haircut at a different Atelier Emmanuel location. I wanted a breakfast snack around 10am. I found Working Girls' Cafe on Kearny. I went to the other one last week. I decided I like this place, so I got exactly the same thing. I got my bagel with tomato, egg, and cheese. Very good. Worth it. For about $5-6. It's a cute place that doesn't overdo itself. Working Girls' Cafe is a great spot for grab and go breakfast or lunch. In case you are concerned, boys are also welcome. This spot is located close to Yelp HQ and I always wandered by not thinking much of it. When a group of coworkers and I were on the hunt for a simple lunch, reviews pointed us here! The menu offers an extensive variety of sandwiches and some salad. I jumped back in forth between what I thought I wanted, "The blackened red snapper, NO, the California Melt, NO, maybe I should get a salad..." In a last minute frenzy, I ended up with the BBQ Chicken Breast sandwich with cheddar, BBQ sauce, lettuce, and tomato, hold the red onion and mayo. Ain't no one need that. The sandwich was filling and delicious. I got a bag of chips on the side because #yolo. I couldn't finish it all, but boy did I try. A few days later, I ended up returning for a breakfast bagel sandwich of smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, capers (again, hold the red onion) on an everything bagel. It had way too much cream cheese on it for my liking but I cleaned it right up. Food is served quickly and packaged up great for taking to the office or wherever you may be headed. Definitely happy I decided to give Working Girls' Cafe a try. I'll certainly be back to make my way through the menu soon! read more

I normally bring food to work for lunch. But if I go out and stay up super late the night before, I end up hitting snooze one too many times and I have to make a run for the bus. This was my situation last Friday. When figuring out what to have for lunch, I decided to finally check out Working Girls' Cafe. I ended up ordering the Caprese sandwich: fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a toasted french baguette ($9.25). For some reason, it took a while for them to make this. Even the cashier apologized for it taking so long. Wasn't a big deal to me in the end, but it was nice that he acknowledged how long I had been waiting. I brought the sandwich back to work to eat in our break room. The bread was warm and toasty. I took a bite of the sandwich and wondered where was the flavor?! The mozzarella, tomato and basil where all cold which provided an odd mix of temperatures in comparison to the bread. I wanted the mozzarella to be warm and gooey. The olive oil and balsamic barely added any flavor. This sandwich was in need of some seasoning, like salt. On the positive note, the mozzarella and tomato tasted nice and fresh. And the sandwich was huge. You're definitely getting your money's worth in terms of size. My coworker raved about how good her California melt was here, so I was expecting an amazing sandwich. Instead I got a sandwich with good ingredients, but no flavor. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Who knows. But I won't be back to get their Caprese. Maybe I'll try the California melt instead? read more
