Can't believe I literally live a block away, but have never been here in my 12 years as a neighbor. Their food is reasonably priced (for San Francisco). The salads are especially quite large and hearty and a great value. Taco Salad: This is my kind of salad, because it's not too salad-y. Basically loaded nachos that happen to be resting on a bed of shredded lettuce. Very filling, I had some leftover after focusing on this as my main lunch. BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich: Was one of the specials. Tender pork and loads of sweet BBQ sauce on a fluffy, yet toasted, panini. Not gonna woo any deep South BBQ fans, but it was good enough for San Francisco. Meatball Sammy Panini: A bunch of halved meatballs on pressed bread with some cheese and a smear of marinara sauce. The meatballs were a little squeaky in texture, not like the really dense texture of heavy on the meat meatballs, so figured there must be a good amount of filler. It was alright, but you should really go to North Beach for a meatball sandwich. Cheese Quesadilla: Cheese in a whole wheat tortilla. Pretty basic. Some lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream on the side. It was priced even cheaper than the other items, so it's a good snack or side. read more

This is definitely a HIDDEN gem. Located in 1 Maritime Plaza, I would recommend using the ground level building entrance on Clay between Battery & Davis. From there proceed past the escalators into a hallway. From there you can locate wayfinding signage that will lead you to the cafe! I ordered the chicken salad club which came with bacon and avocado, offered through MealPal, and was satisfied with size and quality. Service was quick and there were no lines at 11:30. Definitely a solid, fairly priced sammy/salad joint in the FiDi. read more

Hidden little Cafe in an Office Tower with entrances on Clay and Washington, navigate yourself under the escalator and you'll find the glass doors to Le Petite Cafe. Pricing was decent, everything under $10! I had the sun dried tomatoes and chicken breast panini. The sandwich was yummy but portions was small. The sandwich was about 1.5 times the size of a McChicken. Usually I don't eat much for lunch but it's almost 2 hours later, and i'm pretty hungry. Great place if you're looking for a quick and small bite. read more

Tucked away next to a parking garage, Le Petit Cafe provides a secret little place to grab a decent salad for lunch. I tried the Chef's Salad which featured long ribbons of swiss cheese, tasty ham and turkey, hard boiled egg, tomatoes, onions, and more atop a bed of mixed greens. It was a decent size and did what a salad should do - not make you too full, but satisfied and clean. The most enticing thing are the prices - you can get a good salad for about $6 here, which is amazing compared to an $11 one down the street at your designer salad cafe, Mixt. (no hate, I love you Mixt). But if it's rent week and need vegetables in the system, you gotta do what you gotta do - Le Petit Cafe will serve your needs! read more

Pros; -sane price for FiDi -nice selection of sandwiches Convenience, if you work or park in the building Cons: -my sandwich took a long time despite the place being otherwise empty -They had to open the sandwich back up after wrapping because they forgot to add the tomato, which screwed up the paper and made the sandwich messy/fall apart. -I ordered cheddar on my sandwich and the cheese looked like jarlsberg (which I dislike), but the lady assured me it was cheddar. One bite of the sandwich confirmed the cheese was not sharp cheddar. -when I returned the sandwich, the woman admitted it was jarlsberg and said she made the sandwich that way because they were out of cheddar. This does not explain why she did not tell me this when I ordered, nor why she LIED the first time I asked about the cheese. -another employee pointed out that they actually had a large block of cheddar right there. The lady then whined "but it's not sliced!" At which point my 30 minute lunch break ended sans sandwich. Maybe my experience was a fluke, but I will not be back. Le Pettit, we missed you! My office uses Le Petit as a lunch caterer through an online ordering service. Well, when we moved offices from the financial district, Le Petit was no longer a lunch option. We lasted 2 weeks without Le Petit, but am happy to learn Le Petit is back! I love the variety of healthy salad and entrees. The spinach salad is a favorite, as is the salmon with lentil salad. A great choice for a yummy, healthy lunch in SF. I haven't been to the physical restaurant since we use a delivery service, but I recommend you stop by if you're in the financial district! read more

Awesome service and great prices for the salmon salad. I have not seen any place within the fidi that can beat Bob's prices. Quality is also on point. The salmon, veggies, and even the bread are fresh and delievered every morning. If you are going to order salmon make sure you place your order before 9am b/c they do sell out quick. read more

Highly recommend it for sandwiches! I'm sure their salads are tasty as well, I just haven't had one yet. Today I had a Turkey basil sandwich and my goodness, it really hit the spot! I love how the bacon wasn't greasy and the bread they used melts in your mouth. The turkey was fresh and whatever spread they put on (aioli maybe) was finger lickin' good! The prices are a lot better than a lot of the lunch spots you'll find in the FIDI, my sammy was only $8. This place is a jem, I plan on going back to try one of everything! read more

Prices are pretty high here, which I am guessing is due to the high rent. Service is always friendly and fast. They serve standard fair. About 5 different kinds of salads, soups, basic and some fancy sandwiches, quiche, cookies, brownies, chips and sodas, etc. Anyway, their Cesar salads are pretty good, if a bit small. Lemon bars are good, too. The prosciutto panini is pretty good if a bit salty, but that's OK, I like salt. I'll go back. It's conveniently located. It's decent enough fare. read more

This review is on their salads, more specifically their Asian Chicken Salads. I work on the 10th floor of the same building they are located and our company buys lunch and conference food from them on a daily basis. My co-workers seem to love the place, but it really isn't that good. Its just convenient and bearable. First thing... What is up with the inconsistency in the food?!?!? Some days the container is full of fresh spring mix salad (it better be spring leaf if I am paying 8 bucks for a salad with only a couple of pieces of chicken), other days they use a cheaper lettuce and the leaves are wilted and dying... not to mention that the container is only half full. Sometimes they put a pound of shredded carrots and crunchy thingys in the container and others they put just the right amount. I really don't get it. I understand only regulars come here and the salad chefs get rushed during lunch time, but its an expensive salad, please just make the extra effort to make it right and at least good tasting (most of the time). read more

Petit in name only. Taste certainly isn't. Been twice for lunch and left impressed each time. First visit featured an excellent tofu on sourdough. It can be good or bad when your sandwich is spilling all over the place as you try and eat. It's either poorly made. Or in this case overflowing with goodness. +1 for the house hummus. Second visit featured an equally excellent house veggie burger on wheat. They were out the first time hence the return. Some things in life deserve a sequel. This is one of them. Wasn't sure where the burger ended and the hummus began. Didn't matter. Each bit was outstanding. Fifth star sealed when the gentleman running the place recognized me as I walked in and called out they had the veggie burger today. Was nice to see you again too. read more

I'm glad some people can't find it. Everyone I tell about it in my company or outside of the building returns. All of food is made with fresh ingredients and high quality. Lot's of healthy options. Love the grilled salmon, lentils, salads and veggie sandwiches. Soups are excellent and light. Bob the owner, works down the hall at the "Daily Habit" if you want breakfast and coffee. Bob is a hoot! Roberto the easiest going person I know manages the cafe. I don't think he ever takes a vacation. If you can find the entrance, perhaps the food would be worth the effort. After searching the building for several minutes, I gave up. I saw signs and a kitchen, but "down the hallway" didn't work. I've never not been able to find the entrance to a dining establishment. I guess I should have brought Bilbo. What a weird location/configuration. I get it now. If you want breakfast you go to the Daily Habit which is a related entity "down the hallway". Sorry, I didn't understand that. BEST SALAD IN SF. I was born and raised in San Francisco, and this is hands down my favorite place for salads -- I eat them every day for lunch. Has the Asian chicken salad and it was pretty tasty. Comes in two sizes and I got the small one. The price is affordable which is rare in the financial district. The second time I went I had the egg salad sandwich. It was prepared fresh. I have to praise this place for that as usually you go to a deli with a prepared egg salad which can be questionable. Their egg salad has light mayo which is refreshing. I feel some places use too much mayo. But hey....some people like mayo. I can't wait to go back to try the meatball Panini. read more

I really like this place. They have lots of sandwiches to choose from and they aren't just turkey, ham or roast beef but they have those too. The mozzarella or eggplant sandwiches are my favorite. Get a great coffee down at the Daily Habit in the same building. What coffee should be! Ditto on the lemon bars. read more
