Got here about 9:40 and there was no wait. Delicious food, reasonable portions, clean, kind wait staff, good lighting. Would definitely recommend!
Great brunch spot! We visited Plain Jane on a Sunday morning, early enough to beat the rush. The interior was bright and clean, with minimal decor and a peaceful ambiance. We were seated in a cute little nook by the window. For drinks, I chose the Extreme Toffee Latte. The flavor was tasty, but I wish I'd gotten an extra shot of espresso in it. For food, I chose the New England Lobster Benedict and my friends opted for the Chorizo Ave. Scramble and Florentine Breakfast Sandwich. We also got a Pan Pain de Mie Custardy French Toast to share between the 3 of us. My New England Lobster Benedict was great! I liked the generous heap of lobster and bell pepper hollandaise. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the bread underneath. Portion sizes were substantial and I didn't have room for the crispy potatoes. I did save room for the French Toast, however, which was delicious! The texture was so fluffy and we loved the sweet cream inside. Service was friendly and quick. Would return to try more items!
Plain Jane is a neighborhood gem and a great spot for brunch. The service is excellent, friendly and efficient. Lots of variety of food choices and I loved the Sweet Flight, especially since I couldn't decide on which pancake or French Toast to get! The Frisco omelet was perfectly cooked with a great ratio of eggs and toppings. They don't take reservations, but there is a surprising amount of seating inside and outside and the staff keeps the line moving as quickly as possible.

If you have a larger group I would expect a bit more of a wait, but the staff are pros at turning around tables. The food came out really quick and was absolutely delicious. I don't think I can pick a favorite between the two, both were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor! Highly recommend, and can't wait to come back!
Parking: street and can be alittle difficult to find at times. Service: waited in line for 15 mins and was seated inside. Friendly staff, didn't check on us, but we didn't need anything either. Food: chicken waffles was really good. The chicken was so crispy and the waffle was sitting in some sort of sweet gravy - so good! The only thing I'd note that would knock this to a 4.5/5 is that the orange juice was $5.50 for such a small glass and it was not fresh, tasted like it was from a carton. Outside of that, great brunch spot!
Came here for the chicken and waffles! I've heard good things about their chicken and waffles so we decided to try it for ourselves. The chicken was fried to perfection. Very crispy. The waffles was soft and fluffy. The chicken and wafffle itself didn't have too much flavor but when combined with the butterscotch cream, syrup and bacon bits - it comes together well. The portion was pretty big! We also tried the lobster Benedict. Flavors were good. Perfect poached egg. Crispy potatoes were so good. Crispy on the outside, fluffy and creamy on the inside. The service was great, we were checked on many times. Place was clean. For sure, would come again!
Awesome spot! Right in the airfield! Great service and nice spot for meet ups. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table if eating there. My favorite is the B.E.L.T. Sandwich (Bacon,egg,lettuce,tomato) w/choice of choice of cheese, bread and spread (they recommend mayo). I added two pics of this sandwich. You can see the small craft taking off while you're there. It's great in the warm weather when you can sit on the patio out back and see everything. I first learned of this place when a friend recommended it as a great motorcycle destination in Plymouth. A must to check out!
Really cute brunch place! Cane here on a Sunday morning at 11:00 AM and our party of 2 was seated immediately inside. It was nice and cozy despite the chilly weather outside. One thing I noticed and loved about this place were the plates and cups! They were so cute and dainty. I got the Another Club Sandwich and a Ube Latte. The food came out decently fast, and the staff were super attentive and nice despite a busy Sunday brunch rush. Another Club Sandwich: 5/5, loved how it was cut into quarters. All the ingredients were well-balanced in this massive sandwich, and the generous portion of fries were nice and crispy. I had to take half of it home! Ube Latte: 3/5, came out the perfect temperature to start sipping immediately but was rather sweet. Still good, just more sugar-heavy than I had hoped which masked a lot of the earthy ube flavor. Had a great time here with my friend! Can't wait to visit again and try their other dishes!

Weekday breakfast spotting, came here to try the hk French toast, but when I got here there was so many options, I ended up deciding on the pancake, since ive been craving that for the last couple of days, the banana flavor is one of my favorite and this definitely didn't fall short of that. Sweet enough even without the syrup, only downside is since its Gluten Free the pancake disintegrates once you put a knife or fork into it, but still yummy nonetheless. Order was taken soon as I sat and my coffee and refills kept coming, place was clean. Would I come back? Yes, id like to try the other things on the menu. The interior is pretty spacious and they have a nice assortment of classic brunch items from scrambles to benedicts and house specials. Chilaquiles Verdes - The pork was soft and had a nice light spicy flavor. Eaten with the scrambled eggs, salsa verdes and cheese plus the crema all together on the tortilla chip, it was a great mesh of flavors and textures. Classic Benedict - Not sure if I would order this one again. It didn't have much flavor to it and the muffin at the bottom was very hard to cut through. The potatoes on the sides were seasoned and tasted pretty good. PJ's Monte Cristo - The dish I always come back for. The toast is soft and filled with turkey, a gooey gouda cheese and dipping it in the jam is a perfect harmony of savory and sweet in a breakfast dish. All the dishes together were very filling and it is a great place to check out for brunch in the Mission area.
After a long week of meetings and gluttony in SF, I was craving...even more food! So a colleague and I meandered over to the Mission for some thrift shopping and breakfast, and headed straight to Plain Jane. This is a cute little spot with a definite cozy feel, and the friendliest server ever! We were a bit overwhelmed by the menu, but in a good way. They just had SO much to offer, and it all sounded amazing. We decided to split their coastal eggs benny and a banana-topped coconut pancake. Both were amazing! The coconut pancake was dense and delish, and served with a heap of fresh butter and warm maple syrup. The coastal benny, featuring a generous heap of crab meat beneath perfectly poached eggs and a smothering of hollandaise, with a side of amazingly crispy (yet tender) breakfast potatoes, was all it promised to be: rich, decadent, and paying homage to SF's rich fishing and crabbing tradition. We also enjoyed a couple of lattes while we waited for our food. The bill was a little steep, but hey...that's life in the big city, I guess. I would definitely come here again!
Such a cute neighborhood gem! Loved the quick service, the tasty food, and the unique drinks. We went to celebrate my cousin coming into town and this brunch spot lived up to the hype. We got the Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte, Iced Americano, Huevos Rancheros, & the Waffle Breakfast Sandwich. My favorite has to be the Waffle Breakfast Sando *(pics included), the perfect intersection of sweet and savory. The Huevos Rancheros was also a hit, the fresh cheese was a great topping to balance out the acidity of the salsa. Everything was well seasoned, the place was cozy and cute. We went on a Friday morning, no wait at all.

What an unexpected find! We were simply looking for a place to have brunch and stumbled upon Plain Jane's with no expectations at all. Even though it was incredibly busy, with a line out the door and a bit of a wait for our food, every minute was worth it. The food was absolutely delicious, and every bite confirmed we had made the right choice. It turned out to be such an incredibly pleasant surprise that we'll definitely be back. A special shout-out to Shi, our waitress. She was an absolute whirlwind--like Speedy Gonzales! Despite the packed restaurant, she was fast, efficient, cheerful, and somehow managed to make every table feel well taken care of. Highly recommended. This place is well worth the wait. read more

We were greeted warmly when we walked in 40 minutes before Plain Jane closed for the day. The late hour and it being a weekday was the closest thing to a guarantee we might grab a table since this very popular restaurant is packed - especially for weekend brunch. Yelp reviews tempted me with a pistachio latte which I ordered but at the last minute I swerved from the popular lobster scramble to a New England lobster roll ($31). The lobster roll was decadent and delicious however I think its flavor was dampened by a touch too much mayonnaise. The lobster was very fresh and the roll was legit, grilled and buttered. Finn-cinerator had the delicious cottage cheese pancakes ($20). He quickly devoured every bite and began working on my shoestring fries. (I think of this as "calorie reduction"). Service was friendly and intuitive and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and earthy ambiance of wood floors and tables. In the heart of the Mission, Plain Jane is anything but! read more

I've been here once before, and remember the portions were huge, so my bf and I decided to share a dish. Came to the city for a dental appointment and was hungry. Heard good reviews about Plain Jane and had to try it out! They didn't disappoint at all. Came with my parents and got the PJ sweet flight, huevos rancheros tower, and the monte cristo. They were all absolutely delicious and very unique to me. I've never had red velvet pancakes, Monte Cristo, or Pain de Mie French toast. But now I can say I have, and now I can say it's absolutely delicious. The place was pretty spacious, the service was kind and efficient, and the food was amazing. All you can ever ask for a dining experience. One thing I might add that could've made the PJ sweet flight even better would've been a choice of protein since lack there of, other than that, 10/10! read more

Was originally going to go to a different breakfast place when in town for a visit but it ended up being closed. When looking for somewhere else we stumbled across Plain Jane's and afterwards we were not disappointed the other was closed! After going inside we were seated quickly. We were originally going to go somewhere with a tad lower prices to try to save some money (due to trip and other expenses), but one bite and it was so delicious and well worth it. We came on a weekday, so it wasn't busy and the servers were very attentive and friendly. The menu is simple,not too overwhelming and they seem to have a great variety. I ordered the lavender latte and it was good; they have plenty of other latte options as well. Our food was good overall. We loved the crispy potatoes, and the Monte Cristo I ordered was delicious! The lobster Benedict was okay.. they give a lot of lobster, but it had a pretty fishy taste, which threw us off a bit. Other than that, I would definitely come back! read more

I appreciated that Plain Jane was open on New Year's Day. We were seated pretty promptly after waiting in a short line and the service was great. I think because they were so busy (being one of the few restaurants open on new years) they filled in the space a bit more, so there wasn't too much room inside. It's a very cute brunch place in sf with lots of natural lighting, I'd say the vibes are very true to sf. The Asian chicken salad and sausage did not disappoint and were exactly what I needed to cure my hangover. I also like how it came with the dressing on the side so I could decide how much of it I wanted to add to my salad. read more

Came here to celebrate Mother's Day brunch and was pleasantly surprised at how quick the line went. We were a party of 3 and got seated inside pretty quickly. We got some coffee and Mimosas to start and our server took our order right away. Items we tried: - Fried Chicken & Red Velvet Waffle (5/5): the chicken was perfectly crispy, moist on the inside and seasoned amazingly! The red velvet waffle had white chocolate chips in it so it was sweet on its own, you can consider the syrup optional. Overall it was an amazing combo of sweet and savory flavors. - Two Eggs Any Style with Bacon (5/5): you get the choice of wheat or white bread with this dish. The eggs were perfectly cooked and paired well with the toast. It also came with a side of crispy potatoes which was crispy and well seasoned. - Mimosas (5/5): we got a carafe to share with 3 people and it was enough for about 1.5 glasses each. One of the best mimosa ratios we've had in a while. There's different juices to choose from but we stuck with the orange juice. Service was just ok. It was tough to flag down a server because they were walking by so quickly and rarely made eye contact, not one server checked in on us after receiving our food. We spent a good 15 min just trying to flag down a server to order a side of potatoes and get a coffee refill. In the end we skipped the order of potatoes and finally got a coffee refill only after they handed us the bill. Docked a star due to the service we had experienced however the food was absolutely delicious and we'd definitely come again just for the food. read more

Solid brunch place! Expect to wait in a physical line on the weekends. They were busy and seemed in a hurry to clear the table. Indoor seating is tight. The food was fine, and the place was very cute. The portion sizes were small for how expensive the dish was. Additionally, the service took my almost-full drink when I went to the bathroom. When I went to complain that I hadn't finished my drink and that it was almost completely full, they gave me a very small to-go cup filled completely with ice with the wrong drink. I told them it was the wrong drink, but it seemed like they didn't want to admit it. I didn't feel as though I received what I paid for. Grabbed brunch here on a Sunday at 12pm. The weather was a but drizzly and cold, which probably warded off the typical long lines. We waited about 5 minutes before we got seated inside (they also have outside seating). After scrolling through yelp for ideas, I settled on the coastal benedict and my friend went with PJ's sweet flight. It took about 15 minutes for our food to come out after ordering. Overall food was pretty average -- probably ranks right in the middle of all the brunch spots I've been to. The coastal benedict, while the more boujee option in terms of benedicts offered, didn't live up to my expectations. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the bread they used as the base -- it was one slice and pretty difficult to cut through. Home potatoes were solid though and I really enjoyed those. For PJ's sweet flight, the pancakes tasted like what you would expect. The custardy french toast was the standout here; the addition of cottage cheese was unique and actually works really well! Tldr; food here is alright, would probably come again if friends invited. read more

Plain Jane is a brunch favorite so expect it to be super popular and busy! However service was efficient and fast, was able to get a server to take our order as soon as we sat! I ordered the Norwegian Benedict which had smoked salmon, tomato, and guac over bread; it also had a side of AMAZING crispy potatoes and capers. Perfect portion and taste, everything was deliciously made. Eggs were superb and notably made perfect. Pretty solid spot! I would recommend coming here with a lot of friends so you're all able to share family style and try different dishes together, as it was hard to decide what to get because they all looked so interesting! read more

My preferred brunch food is a place whose menu has tons of fusion options, and Plaine Jane delivered! We ordered - cinnamon roll latte: meh, get coffee elsewhere - chorizo scramble: holy shit was the chorizo perfectly meaty, and the side of potato's incredibly crispy - red velvet chicken and waffles: a hefty serving! - Hong Kong French toast: almost like they breaded a PB&J sandwhich. Not too sweet, and small enough that one person could eat it alone (though we split sweet and savory because why choose?) Plain Jane is one of my favorite brunch spots to eat at. The times that I've gone, I've gotten there relatively early before 10 AM because I know that it can get packed and I usually see a line outside. I don't believe they take reservation so I say go early for breakfast on the weekends. I love the variety that they have on their menu and the different coffee options they offer. I usually order the Montecristo with either potatoes or a side salad and I really love their pistachio latte. The location is very well put together and the staff are friendly and very efficient. My two friends and I got the sausage and shrimp and grits, duck sweet potato hash (which is why i chose this restaurant), and the sweet flight. Food was okay. I was very excited to go here as it was on my list for a very long time, but I left kind of disappointed. I got the red velvet chicken and waffles. Though I thought parts of the waffle were good, most of it was burnt/cooked to crisp, making it hard for me to enjoy. The chicken was okay with it being average compared to other places in SF. Service was good and prompt. Overall, I really liked the creativity of the menu but the execution of the meal could have been better. read more

I ordered the Coastal Benefit and overall I enjoyed it though it had some room for improvement. The crab meat was a bit dry and the miche bread was this super tough sourdough-like bread that had me chain sawing the crust. Wish it was an English muffin instead. However the shrimp was well seasoned and really delicious. The potatoes were also nice and crispy. The portion sizes here are huge! My friends ordered the Classic Benedict and Chicken and Waffles and they both really enjoyed their food. They close at 2pm but you should get in line latest 1:15pm as we arrived around that time and were one of the last parties they sat.
