The BEST caesar wrap in the city!! First off it was so quick & easy to order with decent pricing. You get a huge caesar salad wrap that has the PERFECT amount of dressing and it's so crunchy and it comes out so quick so you can enjoy it FRESH! After seeing a ton of social media posts on IG/TikTok about "Mama's Luncheonette", I just had to give this wildly popular San Francisco Halal brunch/lunch spot a try. Located on Buchanan St. and adjacent to Union St. in the heart of the Marina District, this place has been serving delicious breakfast & lunch options ever since mid-2024. The menu is very limited but I always say that simpler is better; especially with better consistency. However, they are only open Wednesday through Friday from 9am-2:30pm, weekends from 8:30am-2:30pm, and closed Monday/Tuesday. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/14/2026 at around 1:00pm. I will say that when arriving here, especially on the weekends to expect a long wait in line. Keep in mind that this place has no indoor seating as the interior layout only has space for a few customers to place their order. However, they do have a few outdoor tables you can sit at (which is what I did during my visit). I would just prepare yourself taking your food to-go and with relaxing spots such as Fort Mason & Marina Greens, this can truly be the perfect vibe when the weather is on your side. As I mentioned earlier, the menu is quite limited but very effective. Breakfast options consist of breakfast burritos while lunch options include a few different wraps. They also carry at least half a dozen refreshing drinks to pair up well with your food. Since I was craving a wrap, I went with their #1 top seller, their "Chopped Caesar Salad Wrap". This wraps consists of lemon pepper crushed chicken, chopped lettuce, fresh croutons, homemade Caesar dressing, and a dusting of parmesan cheese. Every wrap also comes with a side of smoked paprika chips. Even though this place was crazy busy, total time of when I paid to when I received my food took about 7 minutes. Everything came in a convenient to-go paper box. I will say that the wrap is quite generous and even enough to feed two people for a light snack. As for the taste, it was absolutely delicious with a ton of chicken embedded in the wrap. The cheese and Caesar dressing really hit the spot as this is one of the better wraps I've tried. I also wanted to add that the portability factor make this wrap a great option when you're on the go and I see why this place hits the spot for a lot of people. The only reason why this isn't a five-star rating was the price is a bit higher than some of the major competition as $18 can be a bit steep for someone wanting a quick meal. All in all, "Mama's Luncheonette" is a spot I definitely recommend if you haven't been. San Francisco has and continues to be a focal point for some of the best food in the country. And this place is no exception. Service here was great while my wrap exceeded my expectations. Had to come check out this lunch spot by the Marina after all the hype it's been getting! My vegetarian friend loved her cauliflower wrap (their vegetarian options are limited but they usually have at least one on the lunch menu). My chicken caesar wrap was delicious! Came on a Sunday morning around 10am and there was no line. Immediately after I order, a long line started to form. Ordering was quick and easy. I was told it would take 10 minutes for my order but it really only took 5 minutes. The inside is only for ordering, so you have to wait outside. There are some tables and seats available. I got the mama's with the brisket. It was pretty good! I would say adding the brisket makes it come out to a $18 burrito. I do think it tasted pretty good but for the portion and price, it does make it on the slightly pricier side. After the first bite, I immediately picked up on the pleasant acidity from the lemon, which cut through the creaminess and bold anchovy flavor of the dressing. There were generous chunks of juicy fried chicken distributed throughout the salad, and it was all held together snugly in a tortilla. To top it off, the Caesar wrap was served alongside well-seasoned, house-made potato chips. Splitting the wrap was definitely the right call because there was no way I could have eaten the entire wrap myself. I mostly came here to accompany my friend who wanted to try their "viral" chicken caesar salad wrap but the kitchen isn't ready to make it until 10:15am that day so we waited. Came on a weekend from the union street market. It was actually fairly packed at 8am- I found that right after us, a long line started. There's no seating inside the shop. It's mostly grab and go, but there are tables outside the shop (limited, in quantity). The staff were pretty friendly and greeted us when we came, and when we go our food, they also greeted us. The items for sale are mostly your standard breakfast fare. We ordered the special burrito with a brisket addon. I was pretty impressed! It had a slight crunch, the egg was pretty good, and the portion was fairly reasonable for the price. Overall, I'd say it was a solid burrito that is a cut above other breakfast burritos. Definitely worth a stop and hoping to see more cool stuff on their menu in the future! read more
