Ceasar salad chicken wrap
Karen T.

I was nearby and just remembered Mamas was good the first time I tried it a year ago. I got their famous chicken wrap, but honestly I don't get the crazy hype haha. It was ok, a salad in a wrap, dressing was good but not amazing! I think last time it was the breakfast burrito that I liked more! Great staff!

After seeing a ton of social media posts on IG/TikTok about "Mama's Luncheonette", I just had to give this wildly popular San Francisco Halal brunch/lunch spot a try. Located on Buchanan St. and adjacent to Union St. in the heart of the Marina District, this place has been serving delicious breakfast & lunch options ever since mid-2024. The menu is very limited but I always say that simpler is better; especially with better consistency. However, they are only open Wednesday through Friday from 9am-2:30pm, weekends from 8:30am-2:30pm, and closed Monday/Tuesday. I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 2/14/2026 at around 1:00pm. I will say that when arriving here, especially on the weekends to expect a long wait in line. Keep in mind that this place has no indoor seating as the interior layout only has space for a few customers to place their order. However, they do have a few outdoor tables you can sit at (which is what I did during my visit). I would just prepare yourself taking your food to-go and with relaxing spots such as Fort Mason & Marina Greens, this can truly be the perfect vibe when the weather is on your side. As I mentioned earlier, the menu is quite limited but very effective. Breakfast options consist of breakfast burritos while lunch options include a few different wraps. They also carry at least half a dozen refreshing drinks to pair up well with your food. Since I was craving a wrap, I went with their #1 top seller, their "Chopped Caesar Salad Wrap". This wraps consists of lemon pepper crushed chicken, chopped lettuce, fresh croutons, homemade Caesar dressing, and a dusting of parmesan cheese. Every wrap also comes with a side of smoked paprika chips. Even though this place was crazy busy, total time of when I paid to when I received my food took about 7 minutes. Everything came in a convenient to-go paper box. I will say that the wrap is quite generous and even enough to feed two people for a light snack. As for the taste, it was absolutely delicious with a ton of chicken embedded in the wrap. The cheese and Caesar dressing really hit the spot as this is one of the better wraps I've tried. I also wanted to add that the portability factor make this wrap a great option when you're on the go and I see why this place hits the spot for a lot of people. The only reason why this isn't a five-star rating was the price is a bit higher than some of the major competition as $18 can be a bit steep for someone wanting a quick meal. All in all, "Mama's Luncheonette" is a spot I definitely recommend if you haven't been. San Francisco has and continues to be a focal point for some of the best food in the country. And this place is no exception. Service here was great while my wrap exceeded my expectations. With an effective limited menu, excellent Halal food options, and an overall pleasant experience, I am giving this small business an above average four star rating.

Had to come check out this lunch spot by the Marina after all the hype it's been getting! My vegetarian friend loved her cauliflower wrap (their vegetarian options are limited but they usually have at least one on the lunch menu). My chicken caesar wrap was delicious! If you like Caesar salad then you'll definitely enjoy this wrap, it was the perfect amount of dressing and the flavor was on point. Definitely get the fries on the side and they also have fun drinks. Parking sucks here but if you're able to get a spot and come during their hours it's worth the visit.

There is always a long line at Mama's Luncheonette. We do not mind waiting because the food is always so good. We love this place and keep coming back for more. It is definitely worth the wait every time!

I've been wanting to try Mama's Luncheonette ever since hearing so many great reviews about their Caesar wrap. My partner and I stopped by on Valentine's Day around 11:20am. There was a line but it moved fairly quick. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, while my partner ordered the Mama's burrito with turkey bacon. I really enjoyed the Caesar wrap, the portion of chicken was generous, the sauce was flavorful, and it felt light overall. The only downside was the croutons were a bit soggy. If they were crispy, it would've been a 10/10. The Mama's burrito was also yummy. They weren't stingy either the turkey bacon. Everything paired well together, and the sauce made it even better. I'd definitely come back again. There weren't many tables out front, so we ate on the side, which wasn't an issue at all. The service was friendly and fast too!

Hearing all the raves about how good this place was, I had to try it myself. It was easy to find, but the location is small so don't expect to have your family going in to order. Service was great, the person who took our order made sure to double check with us that our order was right and offered us water cups. Love that! We got the Caesar Salad Wrap ($18) and Tater Tots ($5). Lowkey, I enjoyed it but we spent 40 mins at the psychic down the street, so the food was a bit cold when I got the chance to actually eat it. Being in SF, I fear the price is what you'd expect, so it wasn't shocking when the total came out. I fear this place does deserve the attention, but at the same time, it's just another place that sells a caesar salad wrap. The tater tots were good, very seasoned, but it got to the point where I felt like I was held against my will eating pounds of salt.

The amount of times I have ALWAYS wanted to come out here to try this and I finally did! I'm so happy I was able to finally try this place with how delicious it was and how simple it is to order here! Parking this day was an absolute nightmare with how much rain was pouring down. There isn't much parking on the street this place is on because of the driveways for each home. The downside here is there is not seating inside or out. However the food here is absolutely worth getting. The way these wraps look on TikTok are absolutely insane and live up to the hype! 10/10 perfection!

One of the better chicken Caesar wraps I've had. The portion is generous and the flavors are solid, though I would've loved a bit more parmesan. I wasn't a huge fan of the paprika chips that came with it. I'd definitely come back to try their breakfast sandwiches!     Service was friendly, no seatings available. It's a very small shop so expect a line and about a 15-20 minute wait after ordering.  Tip: took us almost 30 minutes to find parking! Try taking uber or muni if you can.

Mama's Luncheonette was a great find! I tried the chicken Caesar wrap and honestly, it was the best Caesar wrap I've had in a while, super flavorful, well-balanced, and really saucy. I do think I would've loved a bit more crunch in it, but overall it was still very, very good. I do wish I had timed my visit differently because I've heard amazing things about their breakfast wrap and lamb wrap and would've loved to try those too. Just a heads up: they don't make any grilled wraps until after noon, and the breakfast wrap is only available until noon so plan accordingly! Definitely a spot I want to come back to and explore more of the menu. Staff was very friendly! It's a small spot so plan for pick up and maybe eating at a park or they have a few tables in front of the spot.

This is probably one of the best caesar wraps I've had yet. My friend and I got there around 1:00pm and it wasn't too crowded. The orders also came out pretty quickly. The portion is a decent size and is good for a filling but not too heavy lunch. It was so delicious and the chicken wasn't too dry. The wrap itself came together nicely and I would definitely come back again for a quick and easy lunch.

Top service, in the marina! Lots of people were coming in and out of this place getting food. The fries are fresh cut. The burger is real 100 percent wagyu beef! The burrito was a blast of great flavors paired with elegant style. The place was packed outside and running things very smoothly, clean and precisely in the inside.

I found out about this place on TikTok and I am so glad that I went! Even though it was quite pricey I have to say that it was the best Chicken Cesar Wrap I've ever had in my life.

Chicken tikka wrap

Ok. I've been to mamas before and got the chicken Caesar wrap. If that was the only experience I had here I would have rated this 3 stars. The wraps on lavash are the way to go. I don't know why people come here for their chicken Caesar and breakfast burritos because the chicken tikka wrap was incredible ! It had pickled veggies and a great tikka masala sauce on the side. The veggies were fresh and the masala was actually good? It was not too creamy and not too tomato forward. I would buy the curry. Portion was really good, we split one wrap. Tater tots with zaatar also pretty good. Total cost: 25$

Quick bite with super friendly service…read more Stopped by on a Monday morning for brunch. Bright, clean environment. Though the waiter encouraged a second beer a few times (so unprofessional for me at 10 am), it was all in good fun. Thai tea French toast is as advertised and delightful. Instead of syrup it comes with a Thai tea flavor glaze. Lovely arrangement of fruit as well. Toast is standard thickness for bread, cooked well. All combined, I was really pleasantly surprised. Though I love French toast, I usually feel queasy and overfull afterwards. Sugar drenched. Not here, my friend. Delicate flavor. Not overly heavy or sweet. Just right for a sophisticated palate. Went well with beer. But just one beer.

Drinks - more options than the food, which is really saying something. We got the pink dalgona coffee and a lychee jasmine tea. Both weren't just good but also came with fresh fruit on top. For food we got the chicken & pandan waffle combo that came with two eggs and sriracha bacon. The waffle was perfection, crispy and light while still very flavorful. The chicken had a nice thin crisp on the outside but was a little dry and flavorless on the inside. The bacon actually tasted better with the waffle than the chicken did. That was really the only flaw for this place (4/5 stars). We also got the steak benedict that comes with a curry hollandaise. This was really unique and we'd absolutely get it again. The potatoes on the side were also crispy and they give a lot of fresh fruit too!

You either have reservations or you're a walk in and you stand in line until a table is available for you. At first this was strange, but I think it makes for a better experience. The team was incredible, they were so kind on a day that can be stressful for a small restaurant. We had incredible food. I was so happy to get my Eggs Royale and my husband said the French toast was the best he's ever had. (Even comparing it to French toast in Paris) No notes. It seems like this place is an asian fusion brunch place incorporating french dishes into thai/asian themed dishes which is up our alley. We made a reservation at 1:45 PM and we had to wait for about an extra 30 minutes before getting seated. Initially, I wanted to try their crab fried rice but unfortunately they were out of crab. We decided to get the Alcatraz Escape and the Brioche french toast which were recommended by the wait staff. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating but I can tell they were swamped and stressed out with all the people they were trying to serve. The food itself tasted decent, the Alcatraz Escape had a tasty flavor which incorporates tom yum paste (sweet, sour, tangy flavor) into their scramble with about 4 shrimps. The side of crispy chicken was good but nothing that stood out to us. The brioche was soft but there wasn't much flavoring besides the fruits and caramelized banana. It was served with evaporated milk which made the brioche soft but not adding much flavor to it. The price however was quite pricey. For two dishes as a side we paid around $78 with tax and tip.

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!
