Came here on a rainy Saturday and it wasn't packed at all. The restaurant is small but has enough tables. The restroom is downstairs - be careful down those stairs! The food is delicious and the service was good - no complaints. I would definitely visit again because the food is well worth it!

Lady Chow Kitchen serves up solid Cantonese comfort food. The steamed rice noodles were smooth and chewy -- just wish there was more sauce (they'll gladly give extra). The curry beef brisket was fall-apart tender, though the potatoes tasted a bit like reused oil. Overall, service was friendly and attentive.

Extremely disappointed by the food quality of this place. First, it's in a very convenient location with a large space. Second the staff and waiter/waitress are friendly and makes you have the local feeling. This place has a lot of potential but sadly the food was not good. If you're going to charge me $20 for seafood lo mein I expect something more than just shrimp and 3 pieces of squid. The fish fillet congee was plain with no flavor. The steam chern fun was sad as well for $13, they don't even add enough soy sauce or flavor. Also where's the black beans with the spare ribs ? Every piece of spare rib was overally fat.

The spare ribs in the Chen fun is such a good deal. Like $12 for a huge platter that could honestly feed two without anything else. The spareribs are flavorful and soft. The noodles aren't too heavy, but need to be soaked in the sauce. The stuffed tofu was soft and had shrimp inside.

Came here after Monday night run club with a large group of around 16. They have plenty of seating and were able to seat us around 2 minutes after we came in. The rest of the restaurant was empty (Monday night an hour before closing.) The service was very kind and they were very patient with us. They have a good amount of vegetarian options. The vegetable dumplings weren't that great. there wasn't much filling and it wasn't very flavorful. I would recommend ordering the crispy tofu instead. It's fluffy on the inside - more of a simple taste. The rest of the table ordered meat dishes. They really liked the pork pan fried dumplings. It seems like the beef rice noodles were also a hit as well. Seems like this is a good choice for non-vegetarians. but if you are vegetarian and end up coming here order the crispy tofu!

The place may not have the service, but the food portion is generous and prices are very reasonable. There are many fancy dish pictures on the wall, but I only got the simple dishes from the extensive menu. The taste is on par with other restaurants.

Iced HK milk tea: it was lukewarm. Tastes like regular milk tea--not HK milk tea. Soup dumplings: definitely not homemade but rather steamed from frozen machine-made dumplings. You can skip it. Looked nothing like the picture on their wall. Sparerib steamed Chen Cun Fun: portion was huge--Not appetizer size but entree size. I think the Chen style steamed rice crepe is thinner and more translucent than regular cheung fun rice crepes. House special fried rice: Best dish and our favorite! Silver and gold refers to the egg yolk and egg white. There were some crispy rice and raisins in it. Will order this dish again. Restroom is in the back and you have to go down some steep stairs. Clean and roomy compared to other Chinatown restaurant bathrooms but only 1 gender neutral stall. Waitstaff were chatty but nice. Saw a lot of delivery service workers picking up orders. Takeout must be popular. I'd come back for the house special fried rice.

This was my second time here and it was excellent the first time and just as good if not better this time. Located on Hester just off of Mott. This small restaurant should not be missed. If you're looking for fresh, truly authentic Chinese food look no further. Shrimp with Asparagus was cooked perfectly. Large shrimp sit on top of a bed of crisp al dente asparagus . Dumplings are made to order and served all day long. The Shui Mai came 4 to an order and was a nice mixture of ground pork with hints of ginger. Service is excellent and the inside is spotless. Delicious, high quality food served in a comfortable casual atmosphere.

We were debating whether to have breakfast or lunch at 10 am on a Saturday. We were surprised to see that this restaurant is open. We walked in and saw no customer. The owner/manager lady was sitting, eating her food. She said lunch is available right now for typical dishes like fried rice or lo mein. While my parents were looking at the menu, I took pictures of the inside. The lady then said no pictures. I was a bit taken aback and asked why. She confronted me in a combative tone that she doesn't like it. We looked at each other and got the heck out of there. The way she treated prospective customers is totally appalling.

We enjoy going to dim sum occasionally but are put off by the sudden rise in pricing for each of these small plates across the spectrum of eateries. Additionally, the increasing popularity as foodies young and old discover the benefits of the dim sum dining experience, these places have become crowded as the old timers have rushed back after COVID restrictions were relaxed. Lady Chow promotes their dim sum offerings for a mere $3.99 per small plate. The deal here is that these reduced priced specials are offered between 9 and 11am. Dim sum literally translates to "a little piece of heart" as you will find that love goes into the making of each dish. Unlike some of the traditional tea houses, you get table service and order from a special dim sum menu, which admittedly is shorter in variety than those in restaurants that specialize only in dim sum, but by limiting the offerings they keep prices low and quality is very good. The restaurant is wonderfully low key, with gentle Chinese traditional instrumental music playing in the background and hot tea is served, included in the price of your food order. The siu mai and shrimp dumplings were wonderful and I loved the taste, though I found the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice to be a bit plain in taste. We enjoyed our meal and will recommend this great find. We will be back to try their Cantonese offerings outside of the dim sum menu. The lobster dish looks interesting.

Our friend recommended this restaurant and we went to eat with them. It is a nice little restaurant. For this day, our friend had preordered a bowl of a variety of things in it. It contained boiled duck, chicken, a lobster, shrimp, abalone, oysters, mushrooms and cabbage. It was quite good but different from the usual things I order. I recommend their fried rice. We got the shrimp but it had many things in it minced. My favorite was the fried oyster. All this food was good enough for 4 people.

Good food (get the fish) and served hot. The bathroom is downstairs and payment types are available. Recommended.

Hands-down, without a doubt, some of the best Chinese food I have ever had!! There are so many items to choose from, and no matter what I decided on I was thoroughly satisfied!! The portion sizes are great and packed full of flavor. You can tell it is truly authentic cooking. Everyone is super sweet and you get a homey feeling when you walk in

Dish highlights include the shrimp and chive dumplings, beef chow fun, and my personal favorite, the stuffed eggplant. Other items were a little bland, like the turnip cakes and har gow, and the pan fried shrimp noodles were awkwardly plated and made them difficult to eat. I also wish they had rice noodle rolls, which I didnt see on the menu. Really what pushed it to 5 stars to me was the service. We came as a huge group of 20, with a baby and stroller in tow, and they handled everything without so much as a grimace, just an outpouring of helpfulness. They sat half our group at a round table and the other half at a rectangular long table and also helped us navigate dietary restrictions, asking specifically who in the group had those restrictions. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. We also didn't break the bank, even with plenty of drink orders. Dao's is an easy recommendation, especially when you factor in how seamlessly they handled our chaos.

I was browsing for places with scallion pancakes and I came across this restaurant. I saw they had a scallion pancake beef rook which I'd never seen before. It was fried and crispy on the inside with tender beef on the inside, that was slightly savory slightly sweet. I had the roll on its own, which made for a light meal, but it can also be enjoyed as a large snack. It was a little greasy, which can be expected, but not sure if I'd get it again. I did think it was innovative though. The most impressive thing about the restaurant was actually the space. I came to pick up my food and was surprised to see this beautiful place. The outside is unassuming and nothing special but inside has the aesthetic of an old Shanghai restaurant. It's ornate and slightly quirky. It's also really big, bigger than I expected. Even the bathrooms had traditional Chinese flare with the sliding doors. Definitely worth checking out,
