a whole fish on a plate

Had dinner at this place on the night before lunar new year. We were seated on the upper floor. The fish was fresh and crispy.

Taro cake, Oyster cake, Peanut Noodles

Traditional fuzhou cuisine. Not my favorite, as we usually go to Fu Zhou Wei Zhong Wei Jia Xiang Fei Wei, but they closed down for COVID. We got their Oyster, Clam, and Jumbo Clam Foo Chow Ho Fun Soup. Also had their peanut noodles, fried taro cake, and oyster cake to pair with it. The Ho Fun Soups are really good and fresh, but it wasn't hot enough when it came out for some reason. I liked the Jumbo Clam one the most but it's up to personal preference. Their peanut noodles are a bit bland. It needs some more sauce and salt. The taro cake was average and the oyster cake didn't really have any oyster pieces and was too greasy. I would only go here again for Ho Fun.

Wow! This place is still here. It's been open since the late 80s. I rememeber first coming here when I was a kid. The restaurant looked smaller back then and seems to have been renovated in the past years. This is of course that standard typical fujianese cuisine. Bowls of noodle soup, pan fried noodle and dishes over rice. Their peanut butter noodle dish is pretty good and they also have fried taro where most fujianese places don't. This is a cash only spot.

It's the place my mom always bring me to for fujianese food. So I would always come here when I'm at Chinatown during when I crave fj food. The place is a little hard to spot if esp if you don't really know you way around so look for numbers on the door. The entrance is next to a bigger restaurant and it's at the basement. But it's a pretty popular place so the flow of people will give you a good hint I guess lol. The house special Ho Fun soup is like must try fj food item and what I always get along with some fried stuff like the long dough (which I like to dip in soy sauce or the soup), taro cake or oyster cake. Another classic fj combo is foo chow wonton soup with plain noodle with peanut butter. I don't get it as often because i personally don't like it that much and I tend to crave the Ho Fun soup more. If you don't mind that it's at the basement and he sanitation is somewhat questionable this place offers pretty legit fj food at a pretty cheap price and no tips lol.

This place is the amazing. They specialize in Fuzhou Dishes and their portions and prices are both absolutely incredible. We paid roughly 20 dollars for a pretty full meal and it was for 3 people! The spareribs with special sauce and the egg noodles with peanut sauce was really good. Honestly, I've been to a number of Chinese restaurants in Manhattan's Chinatown and this truly a gem. The service is good as they actually refill the tea and best of all, they don't charge a stupid tea fee. Will be back for sure.

This place is excellent. Food was delicious and service was very good and friendly. Very reasonably priced too. We sat in the upper part of the restaurant. Place is nice and clean with reasonably good ambience

Came here with some friends to have dinner. We ordered some dishes that were quite delicious. The lobster with ginger and scallion is one of the best I ever had. The taro cakes are amazing. The prices are very reasonable compare to other similar restaurants. This place (upstair) has free WiFi for customers

Quick, authentic Fujianese breakfast. Definitely add clams to your "dian mian coon" and get the fried taro cake

Service is very fast and they kept the water flowing (spicy dishes really are spicy!), and the portions are huge. Though you have to pay extra for white rice ($3 a bowl), the overall value was reasonable for the main dishes. The grilled pork spare ribs was good, but it was too little meat for the price. The scallion pancake was bland. The Peking duck was ok. The pork xiao long bao was bad. The skin broke easily with the included forceps and with chopsticks. It was hard even transferring it to my plate. The mapo tofu was bland. The la zi ji (spicy crispy chicken) was too spicy to eat. I have good spice tolerance, and I always eat la zi ji, but it was just too spicy. This was the only meat dish that was barely touched at the end of the dinner. The best dish was the cumin lamb. It was seasoned well and the lamb was tender. I wish they gave us more lamb though. The meat pieces were small. I've had much better Chinese food in dallas. I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone.
